~~~THINK PINK~~~~
Well here we are with another PINK SATURDAY this is hosted by Beverly at HOW SWEET THE SOUND http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/ Be sure and pay her a visit and see all the other great PINK stuff for Saturday...Now I have really enjoyed this so much...just getting to know so many great blogger's . Now last week I show the Chamber Set in my bedroom..well this is the wash bowl and water pitcher that goes with it...all the ostrich's feathers are from when I had my Ostrich and Emu farm...don't you just love the pretty soft PINK Roses on it???
This is a ceramic clock from ca. 1880 from England that sits on the "Coats and Clark " spool cabinet I also shown last week...And it still keeps good time !!!
A Limoges Platter from France...very heavy...I keep this on my side board in my dining room...I got it at an estate sale about 15 years ago...Had to have it because I just love PINK roses...its all hand painted....
Also in my Dining Room....this is from Italy...all ceramic PINK and yellow roses...I also got this at the same estate sale where I got the Platter... was told it from ca. 1910 and so far not one chip on it!!!
Now I love "Gone with the wind" lamps didn't know how much until I just counted the ones I have 21 of them...Good grief how a collection can grow....This one is also in my Dining room..all hand painted ca.1880 they were Called Gone with the wind...because they shown so many of them in the movie...however these were not even invented until after the civil war....Someone in the Prop -department didn't do their history very well when they did the movie...
Now this one I just love...it shows a girl with a wrap around her on the front and the back of the lamp she is Naked...Hey I would have taken a picture of it...but this is a Kid friendly Blog here guys!!!
One of these days I will bore all of you and show you all my antique "Gone with the winds" lamps.. Just don't want to bore every one with antiques all the time...
Now all of you have a great PINK Saturday....I will be gone for the day...as it would have been my mama's Birthday and I have to go place flowers at her grave site...she just died last year and to my Baby daughter Dawna " Happy Birthday " to you darling girl... She and her Grand Mother both shared the same Birth date...
I will get back to everyone by Sunday and visit all the great PINK ladies...again thanks Beverly for letting me partake in this fun PINK day...
Hugs and Smiles....Gloria
mornin sweet G! Hope your day with Dawna was a good one and full of wonderful memories of your Mama! I'm actually contemplating putting away some fall things, but not bring out Christmas just yet! I changed out the quilt that hangs above the TV armoire, and I'll put away some of the pumpkins, then I need to make a meatloaf. Have a great day and I'll talk to ya this week, love ya sweetie! xo
Gloria you are too funny! I was trying to figure out what "OINK" Saturday was and then I realized it was a typo. Good one. Thanks for the laugh. HeHe!~Melissa
Gloria - thank you for the congratulations on our anniversary!
I think and OINK saturday might be an interesting blog actually!!! LOL
I love those GWTW lamps!! I have one - well I guess is should say I have 1/2 of one now. I had a beautiful lamp and years ago we had a young mother and her son stay with us for about a month and he broke the top globe- so now I have the bottom and have been looking ever since for a top that might match! One day- or maybe I will figure out something creative to do with the other part!
Blessings!
