~HAPPY THANKSGIVING ~

" HAPPY THANKSGIVING" to all my wonderful blogging friends...this year I have so much to be thankful for.. I have been so blessed in my life with my family and friends...I had a wonderful Mama, who was my best friend...we did canning together, crafts together, cooking together, dancing together and she even would go flying with me!! all be it her eyes were closed and her hands were made into tight little fist..she would not say a thing but I could tell she she praying that I landed that plane and soon...
Well Yesterday I was making breads and candy..this was something that my mama and I always did together...and I started crying and couldn't stop for missing her as its only been a year since I lost my Mama..well I had me a pity party for about 2 hours and then sat there and thought about all the things I had to be Thankful for..
I looked around at my Kitchen and was so thankful I had a kitchen with food in the frig and cupboards as I know that they are people who don't have that...

I went into the bathroom to get some tissue to wipe my eyes and was so thankful I had plumbing as they are people who don't have that..

I went into my Living room and sat my by fire and was thankful for the heat to warm my bones..and realized they were people who didn't have heat...

I looked at the pictures of my Children who are all healthy and doing good with their careers and marriages and how thankful I am for that...

I looked at my husband Len who I just married 2 years ago..and was thankful for all the security and comfort he brings to my life...

I looked down at my Old Red Robe and was thankful that I had that old robe to wear...

I went into my office and I seen my Computer and thought how thankful I am that all I have to do is turn it on and have all these wonderful cyber friends in my life..and for that I am very thankful...and at that point I dried my eyes and realized my mama was still with me !! she had taught me to give THANKS and will always live with in my heart!! I am so Bless...

I hope each and everyone of you have a safe and Blessed Thanksgiving... I know I will !!!
Hugs and Smiles , Gloria

~~TIME GONE BY~~

I Love antique Clocks... so I thought I would bore every one today with some of mine....Now this is from Ansonia Clock works...Its called a swinger Clock because the Pendulum swings back and forth...the ball at the top is the clock face...Ansonia did a series of these clocks from 1850-1880 and this one is Called "Gloria" my late husband gave this to me on my 39th Birthday...said I would always be a Swinger...ha ha !! I have it sitting on an old street post that we cut down and added the marble top to it.. Now this is a Crystal Palace Clock from France...its all crystal and brass ca, 1840 even the Pendulums are crystals.. Click on any picture and you can enlarge them....

Now these you use to find allot in Kitchens years ago...and they were made by the Massachusetts Clock works...these were very popular in the 1880 but allot of these were made from 1800-1830 You could also order these from the Sears catalog at the turn of the century but they were not from Massachusetts Clocks works.... I know my Grandma had one in her dining room...

Just another Clock...same maker...Now the shelves that they are sitting on came out of the Black Forrest in Germany... They have a Hunt scene on them..ca. 1850 and very heavy...loved all the wood craving on them...

A Seth Thomas Gallery clock now this was hung in a gallery...This is American clock maker...Seth Thomas also made train station clocks...I love it because I can see it without my glasses..it is 30 inches round and I have it above my TV....ca. 1870 and its a 30 day whine...most old clocks are only 8 day whine !!!

Now this is my Cuckoo Clock and it also came from the Black Forrest in German ca. 1750 and I will tell you some time's I would like to shoot it when it goes off..you know just when you are about to find out "who done it" at the end of the movie and these birds come out just singing cuckoo...cuckoo....All the number on the clock are ivory and it also have side doors that open up and more birds come out and sing but I do love it... And it hangs above a Slot machine !!!

This is an English clock...the English really paid attention to all there cravings on their cases...the brass pendulum is also craved..ca. 1860 this hangs in my LR

This is an "Venetian Regulator" it is walnut and burl wood and a 8 day whine...the weights on this are also engraved...ca. 1850 this clock just has the most awesome sound to it...boy I wished I could do audio for you...My late Husband gave this to my for a wedding present...many years ago and it also hangs in my LR...see the patterns here with all these clocks and why some time I could shoot them??

Another French mantle clock...ca. 1850 this sits on my fireplace mantle...

Now this clock weight's a ton girls...it all Bronze and it also a french clock...I wanted it because of the cherubs on it...this one sits on my piano ca. 1800...

Ceramics clock from France that sits on my side board in dining room...love all the colors on this clock and again another heavy one to move...so I just dust around it...that's and clocks should not be MOVED it really will mess them up...especially the old ones....

This is a carriage clock from 1920....that sit in my office...YES !! no room is exempted from my clocks...

This is one of the longest hanging clocks I have...thank goodness I have 10 ft ceilings in the dining room....this is a " Gustav Becker " clock and I don't even want to tell you what I paid for this 10 years ago....but I will tell you the engraving and cravings on this beauty are incredible and it has 3 brass engraved weights and it also an 8 days whine and I have to get up on my little ladder to whine it and clean it...its that tall...Oh you can also see one of my "Gone with the wind" lamps that sits on an old Ice Box and the berry bowl is R.S. Prussia...but that's another post yet to do...

Now girls I hope you enjoyed some of my clocks today...Now I thinks its "TIME " for me to shut up and let you comment...

Have a blessed and safe day...hugs and smiles Gloria ps. Hope I didn't bore you too much or take too much of your TIME

Well guys today is TableScapes Tuesday hosted by Susan at BETWEEN NAPS ON THE PORCH http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/ Be sure and visit our Hostess to see all the GREAT Tablescapes today...lots of eye candy !!! I thought today I would have a Victorian tea party for two...I love Chintz and Pink depression glass so I tried to mix it all up for today... Now Girls I want you to know this is not a "FAKE" pecan pie...but it is a sugar free one.... almost didn't have it for the picture you see here as Len wanted to eat my props.... Now this serving knife is Pink depression glass and I just love what it says on it...go ahead and click on the picture and it will make it larger for you !!! OK are you done yet?? now see it says Season Greetings...I know this has nothing to do with Christmas...but just wanted to show you how pretty it is... Please feel free to click on any picture to enlarge...but I don't care to hear if you find dust...that is are not in the enlargement rules!!!

Now this Chintz Dinner ware I got some OVC TV...I got 2 sets for I would have a service of 8...How ever the tea cup and saucer are Chintz from 1950 it in the "Summertime" pattern....Chintz was made in England at the Royal Winton factory...It was sold at the five and dimes store at one time....and became very collectible in the early 90's even had Chintz clubs formed...and it got very expense to buy when it was the thing to have !!!

Now the Gold flatware was my Mama's and she used it only on the Holidays...and here's another Pink Depression glass bowl with a Chintz napkins in it holding my "FAKE " rolls... Oh and don't forget the not fake pecan pie...

Now this little Chintz tea Pot was just SCREAMING my name at the antique mall one day...I just love the tea pot on the top of it...is that not too cute??? The tea cup and saucer is in the Royalty pattern this is old Chintz... and see the sweet little tea bag holder...

These Silver salt and pepper were also my Mama's and just had to add the sweet Little tea pot picture frame.... after all this is all about tea today...

I think most of you know I make lamps and Victorian lamps Shades...well this Chintz tea pot just said to me make a lamp out of me...so I did...I didn't use candle on the table thought the tea pot lamp would be so cute instead... What do you think???

This sugar and cream are also in the Summertime pattern and also old Chintz...

Well girls I hope you enjoyed my Chintz Victorian Tea party... And Len thanks you for not eating his pie!!!
WOW!!! I could have used all of this for PINK Saturday ....but hey !! Pink is one of my favorite colors so I do have allot of it...now please do your self a BIG favor and visit all the gals Tablescapes today....Thank you Susan your being the great Southern hostess that you are...

Hope all of you have a Great and Blessed day....Hugs and smiles Gloria

~~COUNTRY GOLD LIVING part 2 ~~~

Well girls lets take a road trip today to Amador City, California...this is the little Gold town I told you I use to work in...built in 1850.. Now here we are on California Gold Highway 49...which was named for Gold being discovered in 1849.... Is this not the cutest little town??? Oh girls you such see this little town at Christmas...all the fresh made cedar garlands and lights are strung across the street..and all the shops have Hot apple cider and home made cookies YUMMY!!!

Lets park so we can take a lunch break girls... Now grab your Stop sign so we can walk across the street and stop all this traffic...Yes you are your own crossing guard in the town.. pick it up and lets go...leave it at the other side...Hey this is very Hi-tech for this town....ha ha !!

Well here we are at Buffalo Chips the best and oldest restaurant in town and its open so lets see Whats for lunch...

Lets take a peek and see who's inside first...

Oh Look !! its Ashley...she is one of 2 sister that owe the best Hamburger Joint in town...her Sister Chrissy must be off today...both of these girls took this restaurant over from their Mama Marie, when she retired.... Marie did all homemade Pies soups etc. and her daughters have made her proud as they have not changed a thing....all home made food YUM !!! (ps Ashley don't kill me for showing all the dirty dishes ...you know you love me more than your luggage girl)
Now this is the Kitchen...and I thought my kitchen was small...these Sister made the most wonderful breakfast and lunches all on just this grill... Now lets get us a Hamburger and find a place to sit....

There are 2 dining area in this place...an upper and a lower...this is the lower room...and I love all the old signs in here...lookies!! at all the old coke trays hanging on the wall and the red and white stripe wall paper and teal colored wainscoting...just too cute...
Look at all these Candies...the big Suckers...wow!! I remember my dawna hitting her sister in the head with one of these and it got struck to Gina's hair ...what a mess that was...Oh Kids and the memories they give you lol !!
Now we also have side walk eating !!! I just love the Heart back Ice cream parlor chairs and little tables out here...they even have an old granite ware bowl with water in it for the visiting dogs here...Now we have the upper class eating area...check out all the great signs again... this is the left side...
and here is the right side...aren't all those old clocks just wonderful...so much eye candy here ..I just love to eat and look at it all...
Now lets get us an Ice Cream...oh girls they have Bubble Gum Ice cream that has real gum balls in it...when I worked next door at Country Living, Marie would bring me my cup of Bubble Gum Ice cream every day...Now the best part of all these signs and stuff is you can buy them...I found my best Yard long picture hanging ( another post about what are yard longs to come) here about 15 years ago...so I left with a full stomach and a new treasurer for my home...boy come to think of it that was an expensive hamburger that day...Hope you all enjoyed having lunch with me today...as I just love this place..the real thick milk shakes...you know the ones that your spoon stand up in !!! I love walking through the door and entering a step back in time...and I love when Ashley see me she just tosses a meat patties on the grill...I haven't seen a menu there in years they just know what I want and bring it on with extra pickles....

Next time i will show you the Biggest littlest rail road in the quaint Gold town !!!

Have a safe and blessed day as for me I think I made myself hungry and am going out to lunch... Hugs and smiles Gloria
