~Rock On~

Hello Girls, Well I'm so excited about this weekend...Not only is it Easter...But Len loves old cars , he loves to buy them, restore them, read about them, in fact he has 10 of them. well you get the picture, In fact I told you that's how I met him over 8 years ago he came up here to my mountain top because I had a Red 1967 El Camino for sale and he was here for over 7 hours...Well needless to say I knew by the time he left he was more interested in Little Red than my Red car ha ha!! Any way we have been planning this fun Rockabilly weekend in Las Vegas for over 6 months now...YIPPEE!!! Len will be in seventh heaven ha ha!! Music from the 50's with Chuck Berry...good grief he's older than dirt now ha ha!!

And Vegas may never be the same again...You see we have planned this fun trip so we could meet up with Chari and Russell from "Happy To Design" I met Chari about 3 years ago on another website "Rate My Space" and we fast became the best of friends...She is like the Sister I never had...sighs. I just know that we will have the best of time together....We are going to Paint that town Red ha ha!! Russ and Chari are driving their 1953 Ford all the way from Colorado to Vegas....while Len and I are the lazy ones and flying in to meet them on April Fools day ha ha!!

Now Chari is concerned that maybe the guys won't like each other...Well their guys and they both love old cars so what's not to like ha ha!! Chari has never been to Vegas before...Where as Len and I went 4 years ago and got married there on Christmas day...And No the Elvis Impersonator did not perform the ceremony ha ha!!

All the Daffs are in full Bloom and waiting for Easter day...May all of you have a GREAT week and I'll see you when I get back on April 6th...And "Remember what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" ha ha!!

So until next time from my mountain top to yours,

~Strolling along~

Today I had to go to town to get a new pair of Tennis shoes to wear to Vegas next week when I meet up with Chari at "Happy To Design" and was just strolling through the Antique shops....Any hoo I done did it again....Now for those that read my blog know I Love all things Victorian and Children's pieces really can grab my heart....I did a post about my Victorian high chair that made into a Rocker click here to see.... Oh but I have wanted one for 20 years that made into a Stroller and every time I find one it's so much $$$....But hold everything the Antique God's were looking after me today...I finally found my Old Stroller High chair YIPPEE!!! Did you Hear me SCREAM....And girls this is by far the best one I have ever seen....

Check out her wheels....Is this not darling...well I know to some it's nothing to get excited over...But to me this was a 20 year hunt...One more of my wants to check off my Antique list ha ha!!

Now she is made into a Youth Chair...

With the food tray...

The Cane seat...sighs

And with an Ugly doll in it ha ha!!! Do any of you remember these Dolls ?? they were called Attic Babies from many years ago....I made at least 3 dozen of these things and even sold them at one time ha ha!!! Oh before I forget I did get my New tennis shoes ...And I did save money there as I wear a size 4 in a Kid's shoe so they don't cost me as much as women's shoes...I know it sounds cute to have a small foot but you try buying High heels in that size ha ha!!!

I'm hooking up with Cindy at "My Romantic Home" so please go by and see the fun Show-n-Tell's today...Thanks Cindy for a fun day...

~Tea cup of Love~

Hello girls, Yesterday when Len brought the mail in he gave me an letter from Cindy at " AppleStone Cottage" in it was a little plastic bag with 3 quilt pins and 2 buttons and no note....My first thought was how did she know I collected Buttons...I have never once mentioned it on my blog...of course I collector everything so I just thought how sweet can this girl be....BUT Hold everything lol!! Today Len brings me a box from Cindy....
OMG when I opened this and seen this sweet Tea cup pin cushion that Cindy made for me...THANK YOU, THANK YOU, How pretty is this and it matches my kitchen...See those buttons and pins when I seen this tea cup the whole button thing made sense to me...

Here the sweet saucer and the most cherished note she wrote to me...that I won't share as I just cried when I read it.....

But what Cindy didn't know was that I also collector this china pattern...here the salad plate...

The dinner plate....

Oh and the Button's I had put them in one of the fronts of my Bin counter with all my other buttons and then had to fish them out when Len brought it this wonderful gift today ha ha!!

The Pins I had put in this one....Well I always said I was a few cans short of a six pack....Thank you again Cindy...This really could not have come at a better time in my life girl...I will cherish this and your friendship always my Dear friend...One of my children asked me why I blog and this is the reason why...to have people you will probably never meet in your life time that will take the time to reach out to you, not with just the gifts but with the love and caring that we all try and show each other...it's like a networking of women of all age's that have a strong love of God, their homes and family, it's like a large prayer group we can go to when we are in need of comfort, It's like having the BIGGEST coffee clutch each and every day and not having to take off my Old Red Robe and being accepted just for who I am....Have I told you guys I love ya all....All of you have really complete me !!!
Until next time from my Mountain to yours,

All the flowers are starting to bloom outside...So I had to pick a bunch and bring them in...Put them in an white Ironstone pitcher and added my Sweet Bunnies that Picket at " Picket Place" send me last year...Oh I love these Bunnies as they really look like lace to me...Thanks again Sweet P.

Today I wanted to show you some of my Antique Vintage stuff I have in my Laundry room...This is an olden Horse Shoe Brand wringer and gas iron that sits on top of my dryer...

A coal iron, hand pump and shoe forms that sit on my counter...Iron trivet's that hang on the wall...

Wash board and bloomers...Blue/white granite pie dish with olden clothes pins and a Mason jar lamp with old clothes pins inside of it....This is a stove iron sitting by it...these Irons you would have at least 2 of...one would be heating on the wood/coal stove while you were using the other one...sure glad I didn't have to iron that way...My way of ironing is putting it in the dryer ha ha!!

I have collected soap boxes for many years... and here I bet you thought I only stood on "Soap Boxes" ha ha!! Each one of these boxes still have the original soap in them and never been opened...The brown bottle is a Lysol bottle...Do you see the "LifeBouy" soap does it not remind you of Ralphie in the movie a Christmas Story when he got his mouth washed out with it...ha ha!!

These are all on a shelf above my washer and dryer....

I hope I didn't bore you too much with me on my Soap box today ha ha!! Be sure and go see Marty for fun and wonderful tables today...I know I am....

Until next time from my mountain top to yours,

~Bloom where your planted~

This is where I Bloom.....

The Seed :
A successful business man was growing old and knew it was time to choose a successor to take over the business.

Instead of choosing one of his Directors or his children, he decided to do something different. He called all the young executives in his company together.

He said, "It is time for me to step down and choose the next CEO. I have decided to choose one of you. The young executives were shocked, but the boss continued. "I am going to give each one of you a SEED today - one very special SEED. I want you to plant the seed, water it, and come back here one year from today with what you have grown from the seed I have given you. I will then judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will be the next CEO.

" One man, named Jim, was there that day and he, like the others, received a seed. He went home and excitedly, told his wife the story.

She helped him get a pot, soil and compost and he planted the seed.

Everyday, he would water it and watch to see if it had grown. After about three weeks, some of the other executives began to talk about their seeds and the plants that were beginning to grow.

Jim kept checking his seed, but nothing ever grew. Three weeks, four weeks, five weeks went by, still nothing. By now, others were talking about their plants, but Jim didn't have a plant and he felt like a failure.

Six months went by -- still nothing in Jim's pot. He just knew he had killed his seed. Everyone else had trees and tall plants, but he had nothing. Jim didn't say anything to his colleagues, however. He just kept watering and fertilizing the soil - He so wanted the seed to grow.

A year finally went by and all the young executives of the company brought their plants to the CEO for inspection. Jim told his wife that he wasn't going to take an empty pot. But she asked him to be honest about what happened.

Jim felt sick to his stomach, it was going to be the most embarrassing moment of his life, but he knew his wife was right. He took his empty pot to the board room. When Jim arrived, he was amazed at the variety of plants grown by the other executives. They were beautiful --in all shapes and sizes.

Jim put his empty pot on the floor and many of his colleagues laughed, a few felt sorry for him!

When the CEO arrived, he surveyed the room and greeted his young executives.

Jim just tried to hide in the back. "My, what great plants, trees, and flowers you have grown," said the CEO. "Today one of you will be appointed the next CEO!"

All of a sudden, the CEO spotted Jim at the back of the room with his empty pot. He ordered the Financial Director to bring him to the front.

Jim was terrified. He thought, "The CEO knows I'm a failure! Maybe he will have me fired!" When Jim got to the front, the CEO asked him what had happened to his seed -Jim told him the story.

The CEO asked everyone to sit down except Jim. He looked at Jim, and then announced to the young executives, "Behold your next Chief Executive Officer! His name is Jim!

Jim couldn't believe it. Jim couldn't even grow his seed. "How could he be the new CEO?"the others said.

Then the CEO said, "One year ago today, I gave everyone in this room a seed.I told you to take the seed, plant it, water it, and bring it back to me today. But I gave you all boiled seeds; they were dead - it was not possible for them to grow.

All of you, except Jim, have brought me trees and plants and flowers. When you found that the seed would not grow, you substituted another seed for the one I gave you. Jim was the only one with the courage and honesty to bring me a pot with my seed in it. Therefore, he is the one who will be the New Chief Executive Officer!"

* If you plant honesty, you will reap trust

* If you plant goodness, you will reap friends

* If you plant humility, you will reap greatness

* If you plant perseverance, you will reap contentment

* If you plant consideration, you will reap perspective

* If you plant hard work, you will reap success

* If you plant forgiveness, you will reap reconciliation

* If you plant faith in God, you will reap a harvest So,

be careful what you plant now; it will determine what you will reap later..

"Whatever You Give To Life, Life Will Give Back To You"

May all of you have a GREAT first Day of Spring....I'm linking this up to Laurie's Bargain Hunting and Chatting...for my favorite thing...Thanks Laurie

~COME FLY WITH ME~

Hello Guys....Well you're know me now for over a year so I thought it was time I shared my first really big passion with you....See this picture...That's the Hayward airport in Hayward, California. Our shop was right across the street from it...Now I use to sit at my desk each day and watch all these wonderful planes taking off and landing...Oh I wanted to fly so bad and every day I would tell my Wally this...Well one day to surprise me he gave me a 1 hour flied just to shut me up ha ha!!...Oh girls I couldn't get in my car fast enough....I was doing my Happy Dance all the way to the airport...I met with the instructor Mark and he took me out...Oh FREEDOM...I spend most of the time looking at the instrument panel and about 20 minutes into the flied he gave me the controls...Oh girl's I felted like singing "Lucy in the sky with diamonds" when we landed he gave me a log book with my 1 hour in it...Oh Joy!! Oh Joy!! I had just flew a 150 Cessna See the longest runway that is 28 right and became my favorite one to take off and land on...I signed up for ground school right away...in fact I was the only girl in the class of 32...the guys use to call me Amelia....After only 7 hours of flight instructions my instructor Mark said to me as we were doing touch and goes...which means taking off and landings...He tell's me to pull over and he got out... He hits the side of the plane and tells me it's all mine, take her up and bring her down alone...Oh Joy!! I did not have one problem taking off the whole time I was going around the airport...I had been doing the radio for 5 hours, and I pretend Mark was still sitting in the seat next to me telling me on final when to lower my flaps and how many degrees...And then it happen I sat that Baby down all myself...All of Ground control was cheering me on and Mark had the Biggest smile on his face...Oh I couldn't wait to run back to the shop and tell my Wally and show him my log book that I soled....I was 30 years old at that time...But knew I found a passion I loved....Oh Yes you see I logged in more than 310 hours in that little black book...

Now this plane my Wally got for me it's a 1947 195 Cessna and I loved the call letters on it...195 JJ...when I called tower control I would always tell them I was 195 Jesus Jones and ask for permission to take off or land...I was flying with Jesus....

This was a 5 place plane...but we took the back seat out of it to make room so we could go Antiquing ha ha!! Oh yes this became our fun plane to go shopping in....

We had this plane for 14 years...Oh what fun we had with it...

This is the one thing besides my children that I am the proudest of doing....was getting my pilot's license and being able to fly.... This was the greatest Freedom in the world to me......

Thanks for coming by and letting me share a little bit of my life with you....

Until next time from my mountain top to yours

Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria
