~THINK BLUE~

Hello!! Girls...Well it really was a THINK BLUE for me weekend....You remember back in December 2008 I told you my Grandson Jacob was going into the Army...Of course you do lol!!

Is he not a fine handsome young man....I am so proud of this boy!! Right now he is still in training at FT. Leonard Woods, in Mo...and will graduate on May 8....Oh Girls when I got this picture I just got all teary eyed seeing this young man that use to play with toy soldiers on my floor was now Playing for real....does he not look like a BIG GI Joe....

Well In December we also had the BIG question asked of Morgan his girl friend...is this not sweet Jacob on one knee....Of course she said YES and a Thousand times YES!

Well since that tme Jacob and Morgan got married, he left on January 21, 2009 to go to training... So now my family is all getting ready for the BIG day when Jacob comes home for 2 weeks in May and the upcoming event of his Son's birth on May 22, 2009....Now you know how as a Mother you get those moment where you get so chocked up with just seeing your children and what great people they have become....of course you know...Well let me tell you I had that yesterday when I seen what my Daughter Dawna (grandma to be) my granddaughter Candace and her step- sister Jessika did for Jacob and Morgan...these girls put this whole Baby shower together....without asking for my help... Oh No!! maybe they don't need me any more...Look at the food table that my Dawna and her daughter Candace did...Oh girls it was all so YUMMY!!

I just loved this Cupcake trees and look at the little baby sleeping on top ...is this not just darling...

Now here is my Granddaughter Candace with the Cupcake tree... Jessika did this tree.

Oh!! and girls she got so many wonderful gifts to start this little guy off in life with...

Morgan unwrapping her Son's gifts...
My pride and joy my Dawna with Granddaughter Candace....Mommy to- be Morgan, Candace and Step- Sister Jessika....Jessika did all the decorating and hostess this shower for them....
These kinds of Pictures are very rare for me to get....My Daughter Gina, Me and Dawna....Oh look a Blond, Burnett and a red head...Well an old red head with a little help from my best friend " Miss Clairol" Hey ! if its on the drug store shelf its on my hair and look girls I even took off my Old Red Robe for the day ha ha!! Thats also rare...
Jacob I am so PROUD of you!!

Now Please go by and see our very own Miss Smiling Sally at http://smilingsally.blogspot.com/
And see all the wonderful BLUES that await you today...Thank you Sally for hosting this event...
May you all have a great and blessed day...I know I have been "BLESSED" Big time with my family...

Gloria I know how proud you must be of Jacob. I just had to tell you, Jacob is less than 100 miles from where we are, right now.

My father was stationed at Fort Wood and met my mother in Lebanon MO, her hometown and mine too, just a few miles from the fort. They were married in the early Fall of 1942, at a chapel at Fort Leonard Wood. My father was shipped to the South Pacific a few weeks before I was born, the following Summer.

My cousin worked in an office at the fort during the late 50's and met her husband there. He was in the Army and also had a band. My cousin was the singer. They were married, in 1961, in a chapel at Fort Leonard Wood.
Small small world.

OMG!! GREAT pictures! I almost felt like I was right there with you joining in the festivities. :)
You have to be so proud of your grandson. They grow up so quickly and it is overwhelming. We are going through similar things in our family.
When Pat went overseas..the newpaper came and took a picture of Danny and I and printed it in the San Diego Union newspaper and sent him a huge picture overseas.
I still have that news clipping.
I wonder if they still do things like that. The name of the weekly article was "Daddy hasn't seen him!"
These are such tough times for young service couples. I remember those times so well..so well!
Many hugs to you, Gloria. You are so darned special to me!! I loved the picture of you.
