Yesterday I was at my local COSTCO buying a large bag of Purina dog chow for my
loyal pet, Sunny, and was in the checkout line when a woman
behind me asked if I had a dog. What did she think I had, an elephant?
So since I'm retired and have little to do, on impulse I told her that no, I
didn't have a dog, I was starting the Purina Diet again. I added that I probably
shouldn't, because I ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50
pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most
of my orifices and IVs in both arms.
I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works
is to load your pants pockets with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two
every time you feel hungry. The food is nutritionally complete so it works well
and I was going to try it again.
(I have to mention here that practically everyone in line was now enthralled
with my story.)
Horrified, she asked if I ended up in intensive care because the dog food
poisoned me.. I told her no, I stepped off a curb to sniff an Irish Setter's
Butt and a car hit us both.
I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack he was laughing so
hard.
COSTCO won't let me shop there anymore.
Better watch what you ask retired people.
Until next time from my mountain to yours.

~Fall Blessings~
For the past month I have really let my poor ole house just go...What with taking care of my grand daughter and now that Landen James is finally born I have a ton to try and play catch up on lol!! Don't you just hate it when all you can do is give your house a lick and a promise ??? I know I sure do....
You can write your name on anything in my house right now the dust just took over ha ha!! Not that Len would notice...we could have a dead cow in the middle of the Living room and he would not notice it unless it was in front of his Sunday football game on TV ha ha!!
Fall is by far my favorite time of the year...I love to look out at my mountain top and see all the trees changing colors. I love to sit in my sun room in the early morning with my coffee and just look at all the beauty God gave me to enjoy each day and to smell the crisp air...
I'm just starting to bring fall into my home...Oh the Blessings of Fall
My Sweetest Fall Blessing this year is my Great Grandson Landen James....I just told him how cute he was and he struck his tongue out at me ha ha!!
On Sept 22 nd I also had another Great Grandson born at Fort Hood Texas Issac 8lbs 7ozs...He's my Grandson Jacob's little guy...Jacob is the one in the Army and will be deployed in December to Afghanistan, Jacob already has one little guy 15 months old Jeremiah...I don't envy his wife having to change two sets of diapers ha ha!! Any way that brings my total of Great Grand kids up to 8 now WOW!! Just toss them my checkbook come Christmas....If I'm not in blog land at that time just look for me in the "Poor House"
I hope to be back to full time blogging once I get caught up on my home duties...
I also have a Blogaversary coming up in 3 weeks and I have something really special planned for my followers as a give away to just say a "BIG" Thanks for putting up with me for 2 years...At least I think it's special...hey!! I'm no Oprah here so don't go thinking I'm sending you to Australia with John Travolta as your pilot ha ha!!
Thanks for coming by my Dear friends...
Until next time from my mountain to yours,
Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria

~The longest Journey~
Well guys, finally God answered my prayers and gave my family a healthy little Landen...Mama had 23 hours of labor and no pain killers, never once did she let out a cry or moan...What a trooper Candace was and I could not be prouder of her...Husband Branden (Daddy) cut the cord helped with pushing her legs, rubbing her back and the look of pure joy on his face when his son was born will always be struck in my memory..
Candace's Mama ( Dawna) and myself were all in the birthing room to welcome Landen into the world...What a Beautiful sight it was...and when the Doctor gave Landen to Candace she looked at him and said " Hi Pumpkin Happy Birthday"
Many tears of joy were spend...
God has really Blessed my family...
Until next time from my mountain to yours,

ps: and Len was busy handing out cigars ha ha!!

I just realized the only animals that live in my house are Len and me...Oh what's a girl to do when she wants to join in the Barnyard Bash animal party...at " Happier Than A Pig in Mud"
Well she can always show Bubba and his belly art...Maybe Lynn will let me join the party with this...

Think Gloria think!! you must have at least one animal besides Bubba so Lynn will let you stay and Party...
This don't look like any animal to me....
Let's see what I got...
Can I stay and party now Lynn- PLEASE!!
Thank's Lynn for hosting this fun day...Please go by and see Lynn to see all the others that have real Barnyard animals today...Hey it was either this or a picture of Len and me ha ha!!

~ CAN YOU HEAR ME ~
A man feared his wife wasn't hearing as well as she used to and he thought she might need a hearing aid.
Here's what you do," said the Doctor, "stand about 40 feet away from her, and speak in a normal conversational speaking tone to see if she hears you.
If not, go to 30 feet, then 20 feet, and so on until you get a response."
That evening, the wife is in the kitchen cooking dinner, and he was in the den. He says to himself, "I'm about 40 feet away, let's see what happens."
Then in a normal tone he asks, 'Honey, what's for dinner?"
No response.. So the husband moves closer to the kitchen, about 30 feet from his wife and repeats, "Honey, what's for dinner?"
Still no response..
Next he moves into the dining room where he is about 20 feet from his wife and asks, "Honey, what's for dinner?
Again no response.
So, he walks up to the kitchen door, about 10 feet away.. "Honey, what's for dinner?"
Again there is no response.
So he walks right up behind her... "Honey, what's for dinner?"
(I just love this)
"Lenny, for THE FIFTH time, it's CHICKEN!"
Hope all of you are having a GREAT day...
Until next time from my mountain to yours,
