♥ Happy Birthday Chari ♥

Happy Birthday Chari, well it's not her for real birthday...but it is the birthday of Sunday Repost...this has became a favorite meme in Blogland as it lets us have a Do-Over day....Please go by and see Chari at "Happy To Design" and see what great Birthday gifts she has waiting for you and tell her a BIG Happy Birthday...Now this is a post I did back in July o9 and just felted as this was Chari's Birthday what better way to help her celebrate that with the story of the "Sisterhood of the Traveling Lamp"I showed you a few months back how to make these sweet little tea cup lamps click here to see How to...Well I have made them for 20 years now and sold them at a shop I use to work for called "Country Living" I bet I have made over 200 of these now...But you never know the home it is going to when you sell one... Now one of my Dear friends Chari at "Happy to Design" I made one for last year, we met on RMS and became instant friends...Can you love someone you never met ?? Of course you can...I have met so many sister's on RMS and here on my blog...And I know I will never meet them this side of glory...but do so love my Sister's...So Chari told me she was leaving in June to go to Texas to see her Family and how her Mama loved roses and anything to do with tea's...

So right away I emailed her a few photos to show her I still have a few things left to make her a sweet little tea cup lamp...Do you think I have enough shades girls??? This is only one container...I have 4 of these still filled...

Oh My !! and tea cups and saucers..Well she emailed me back and just said her mama love pink...OH JOY!! my favorite color to work with...But her living room was more Burgundy....

Now this is the lamp I made for Chari's mama...you see how sweet the little birds nest and bird is in the cup....

So here it is in California all ready to be shipped to Colorado... This was in April...

Now here we are in Texas with Chari's Mama opening it up...she had not a clue that Chari had custom ordered this for her...

Now girls!! this was by far the BIGGEST pay day I ever got on my tea cups lamps...just look at that beautiful smile Chari's Mama has on her face...this just made my day when she send me these pictures of her Mama's smile...I just felted my ole heart skip a beat when I opened this email from her...Oh Girl I love ya...You just made my week my friend.....

The one thing I will always remember about my own Mama was her smile...she also would light up like a Christmas tree over the littlest treasure...Chari your mama is beautiful my friend...The BIG smile says it all...

No matter what you are doing today take the time to make someone smile...it will make your own heart feel so HAPPY...No you don't have to make them a lamp...but sometimes just a kind word will change the day for someone and put a smile in their heart!!

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY " my Dear friend...ps since I did this post I have gotten to meet Chari in real life just this month in Vegas...Dreams really do come true... I hope to be back to blogging by next week...am very weak still and sleep alot ha ha!! Hey but I lost 11 pounds but don't recommend this kind of diet ha ha!! Love you guys and THANK YOU all from the bottom of my heart for all your prayers...Hey they seems to work just GREAT...So now would you pray for Len to hire a house keeper for me lol!!

Update

Hi ladies,

Just a quick update as I need to get to work.

Grandma is mentally feeling better, physically not as much. She saw the Dr. yesterday, he told her it will take quite some time to feel better, but that she will probably never be 100% again. The Dr. was rather negative (the man has NO bed side manner at all).

I have been trying to convince her to see a new Dr. for years, she may just listen this time. I am hoping that a better Dr. may be able to give her better insight.

I know she wanted to do a new post, but she is just not feeling up to it. So, I took it upon myself to let you know how she was doing.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. I know she does read them when she is feeling up to it, and I am sure she will answer them all back when she can.

Hello Ladies,

Grandma asked me to do a quick post for her to let you know how she was doing.

I appears she has Walking Pneumonia. I just called her house, Lenny said she was sleeping because the Dr. gave her Codine to try and relieve her coughing, etc.

Lenny also made mention that if she does not get better by tomorrow that the Dr. would like her to check into the hospital. Grandma said she will only do this if her breathing is not better by then.

Ladies, I know she if very close to you and you all mean the world to each other. If you could please say a prayer and keep her in your thoughts it would most appreciated. I truly do not know what I would do if something happens to her.

~Lets take a stroll thru my hallway~

Hello guys....want to take a stroll thru my hallway today....I thought I would show you what I have in there...My hallway is pretty wide so I'm lucky I can place furniture in it.... This is an antique walnut library table I have and on the top I have an Oak Tower Display case from ca. 1910 from a old general store...I love to change out the inside of this piece its great for displays and storage ha ha!! underneath of it I have my Victorian Salesman sampler fainting couch....

This is my Child's white wicker rocking chair from ca. 1920

One of my Tiffany style lamps and a candle holder and picture of Marie Antoinette...

This is one of my mechanical banks this one is called "Trick Dog" you put a coin in the dogs mouth and pull the lever and he jumps through the hoop and puts it in the barrel.....

I also keep all my little hats boxes in here with the hats inside of them...to learn more about these click here...

I also keep alot of my family pictures in here also...

This is also in my hallway....I call it my "Holy Moly" because its an Antique baptismal bowl if you were like to know more about it click here
I added the glass to the top of it so I could use it like a table top ha ha!! The bust is one of my favorite one out of my collection..

Is this not pretty...I know this kind of stuff is not for everyone...but hey I told you I march to a guitar with a few missing strings ha ha!!

One of my Victorian photo albums and an Art Deco photo stand....ca. 1920

I just love all the details in her face....I had the album for many years when I found the stand and just knew it was a marriage made in heaven ha ha!!!

~My Mountain top Favorites~

Today I'm joining Laurie at "Bargain hunting and chatting" to show you a few of my favorite things that I just love.... Thanks Laurie!!

I love seeing the Sun come into my Sun room each morning....

I love sitting and having coffee each day in my Sun Room and have my family of deer visit each day....Sorry about the poor quality of picture but had to take it through the screen if I open the door they take off a running ha ha!!

I love seeing all my Daffodils in full bloom...We planted over 650 bulbs last year and this year want to plant 1000....

And this is by far the one thing I love the most...is seeing my sweet little great grand daughter Kyra so healthy this year and collecting her Easter eggs...Ain't God GREAT !!! Look she's even growing hair ha ha!!

~WELCOME TO LAS VEGAS~

Hello girls, This was by far the best trip I ever had to Vegas....From the minute we arrived at the airport until we left....We got to meet up with Chari and Russell....

Have you ever watched "Pawn Stars" well its one of Len's and mine favorite shows....Chari and Russell had an appointment yes you have to make an appointment to get in...lol!! And while they were there they got Len an autographed T-shirt from the "Old Man" oh Len was thrilled to death that they got him this....

Loved this sign...now Len brought this to hang in his garage but it didn't last long...he hung it on the handle of a slot machine and walked off and left it so he lost his money and sign on that one machine ha ha!!

Loved seeing all the clothes at this car show...so many wore the Vintage look from the 40's and 50's

I think Chari and I were the only gals their without a body full of Tattoos ha ha!!

I loved this sweet little Pedal car....

Let's not forget the Vegas lights...

And the stores....

And when you give Len the camera to take a picture...duh !!! And Yes I WON on the slots....So what to do with my winnings well this was all about cars so I bought a "Cadillac" well at least a Cadillac purse... hey!! I won but not that much ha ha!!


If you ever get a chance to meet one of your fellow blogger...do it you won't be sorry...I know so many of you have met and had lunch....But for me this was the trip of a life time...To meet with Chari and Russell....they were both so GREAT to Len and me...All the memories will last Len and me a life time...Thank you both so much...Love ya sis...

ps: I had to turn on my Anonymous comments....As I have been getting ones that even make me Blush...also I have gotten some from people I don't even know that they should be ashamed to even leave...In the year and a half I have been blogging I have never left a vuglar or rude comment to anyone....I was so upset when I got home from Vegas and read some of these....I always felted that Blogging was all about us women "Caring and Sharing" and they is NO room in my world for your RUDENESS...So take your Nasty Anonymous mouth some place else...Sorry about the rant guys..just needed to get that off my chest and mind....

But with tired feet now ha ha!! Oh guys I had the best time ever in my whole life...I Ate too much, Walked too much, Talked too much, Gambled too much ha ha!!! Vegas and the car show were just wonderful....But getting to meet up with Chari at "Happy to Design" and her husband Russell was just PRICELESS....She is everything I expected and more warm, funny, loving and just a wonderful personality and a pleasure to be around...in 3 days we never ran out of a thing to talk about...were your ears burning guys ha ha!! If anyone would have told me 3 years ago I could meet someone in cyber world and become fast friend's with them I would have laughed.... Is she not lovely?? The guys got along GREAT in fact Russell and Len acted like they knew each other for years...hey !! it a guy lol....A GREAT time was had by all....We didn't get home until 4 am so this is what I'll be doing for the next few days ha ha!!! (besides the laundry ).
I have missed all you guys so much..wished I could have met all of you there...but as it was sitting outside with Chari at the car show for 5 hours and talking I think I got my tongue sun burned ha ha!! I'll show pictures of what we did in the next post ha ha!!
