~Just Things in my Boudoir~

Hey Guys, You want to see a few things in my Victorian Bedroom....This is the room I not only sleep in but watch TV most nights...Can't stand the shows Len watches ha ha!! Oh come on girls you can only watch so many reruns of "Ice road Truckers" This is the coffee table, I use the little dish to hold my remote control....One of my Gone with the wind lamps...

My littlest gone with the wind lamps...These you would use at night time just to go from room to room...Kinda like we use a flash light now in the dark...

I love this sweet little table with the glass top...I found this many years ago online and had to have it ha ha!! just love the sweet little cherubs

Did tell you I love hat boxes...Well I do and I love to decorate with them...My all time favorite doll that Wally got me the last time I had cancer...It's called "playing dress up" I love this sweet thing with her over sized shoes and hat....

See more hat boxes and shoes...these hat boxes I covered in wall paper the shoe display stand is from ca.1880 the base is marble and the wedding dress and veil was my Grandma from 1913
That's a dressing screen behind it...and I use it to hide the TV ha ha!! Hey we all have to decorate around them don't we but can't stand to see them ha ha!!

More shoes and Hat boxes ha ha!!

Now on the his dresser I have a box...but just not an ordinary box...Lets see what's inside OK!!

It's hard to tell from this photo but these are Men's straight edge razors...each one is stamped with the day of the week...

These are from Sheffield England....These I got for Wally many years ago as he collected them and I now have over 100 razors...ca. 1800

Also a thing a man had to have many years ago...This leather box for traveling..

It holds paper collars...Men use to wear collar less shirts years ago and would just add a new collar on it to look fresh and clean for work...I bet that saved on washing and ironing...
Also bet a "Woman" invented these ha ha!!

On Her dresser...We have a collection of crystal perfume bottle...I just love all the cut work in these...A pretty Victorian mirror tray

Photo of my Sweet Mama sighs...and one of her perfume bottle

My Mama musical doll
Just shots of my dresser...It's not really a dresser but a Victorian buffet...But I do have it in my bedroom and use in for linens...

It's a beautiful Rocco period piece ca. 1880 Walnut and burl wood...with a marble top can you say heavy ha ha!! I bought this piece when we were still adding this bedroom on to this cabin 1998 and it sat in my barn until I got this room done ....Wished Wally would have lived to see it completed sighs....

I hope all of you have a GREAT day...Another busy week for me with taking Candace's to Hospital for her NST test and to Doctors but at least there will be a light at the end of this tunnel and what a special light it will be the birth of our precious Landen James...

I have alot of my family coming in on Friday for the baby shower on Saturday YIPPEE!! I love it when I get to see all my daughters...We just laugh and talk non-stop in fact I can't sit out in the sun with them because I get my tongue sunburned ha ha!!

I'm linking this up to Sweet Marty's "Table Top Tuesday...Is she not the sweetest thing in the wonderful world of blogging...Can I hear an Amen to that??

Be sure and come by on Aug 6th ( which is really Aug 5th in blogland) for Sweet Barb's Rooster Par-ty...I have an over load of Roo's from my daughter Dawna's Kitchen to show you...She's the one that steal every Rooster I bring home ha ha!!

Until next time from my mountain to yours,

Hugs and smiles Glria

I just thought I loved antiques! You sure put me to shame. This is all so pretty. Thanks for guessing on my car post -- good luck!

Gloria, you have such great things from an era that has gone by. I don't know how ladies wore those boots. Makes my feet hurt just looking at them. Those razors look like they would cut very easily and I would be very afraid for my husband to use those. Thanks for showing us your treasures and I don't watch t.v. with my husband either.

Gloria- My what a boudoir you have! Have you thought about opening your home as a museum- geez you could make some money honey!!!

I love that sweet little pink lantern- my sis collects those little cuties and she would love that one!!

Yup- I have to keep excitement going around here I guess! Tree climbing not quite as exciting as getting bit by a rattlesnake but guess I'll have to wait for that ticket to come through for skydiving to top the snake!!

Hi Gloria,
I love how you have decorated your bedroom. My favorite is the 5th avenue hat box and your fabulous buffet/dresser. Years ago when we were moving I bought a set of very large hutches for my dining room and the people that we bought them from held them for us for 6 weeks while we waited for our house to be ready to move in.

Gloria,
So good to hear from you, I have been a little MIA this summer, but trying to get back into things. What a wonderful room to wake up in or watch TV. We do the same thing in our house, I am either in the bedroom watching TV or in the family room watching the tube, while my daughter is in her room watching her TV. I juess its just varied taste. Have a wonderful time at the shower, hope we get to see lots of pictures, and enjoy the new little bundle you will be blessed with. Don't be a stranger.
