~Oh Deer~

Meet Darlin, Every evening between 5 and 6 pm...Len will go out and feed this sweet girl her loaf of bread...We buy bread from the day old store just to feed our babies here on my mountain top...

This sweet baby lost her mama a few months back...she was born here and has never left...

She really is like having a pet deer...as she just comes running each evening to get her treat...
Last week when I had a whole yard full of ladies she still came right up here looking for her treat...People don't seem to scare her at all...

Oh YUM!! Dad Thanks for the bread...I know alot of people don't care for the deer here as they do eat their gardens...But you know what we are living in their back yard and they are just allowing us to share it with them...I love all the critters we have here...Just another reason I'm so thankful God put me on this mountain top...Life is GREAT!!
May all of you have a wonderful weekend...
Until next time from my mountain to yours,
Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria

Love your blog. My sister-in-law and her husband live in a suberb of Austin and have deer come up to their deck each morning and evening wanting food. We just sit out on the deck and watch them. Love it.

Who is more of a sweetie, you, Len or the deer?! Well all of you! Look at those big brown eyes! How could you resist not wanting her as a pet? Beautiful. And I can see why you are so happy on your mountaintop. I would be too, sweet lady friend.

Happy weekend! :-)

Could I come live with you for a day? Deer are pure magic for me .. we have so many in my part of the world and I love snapping their photos. There is one we call "Gimpy" because he doesn't have the use of his left rear leg. I would help feed .......

Gloria, I'm so glad I got to see Baby Deer. :) She's precious! I'd be out there feeding her too. Couldn't agree with you more. We are the ones taking up their space. We need to be kind and respectful with them.

Hi Gloria,
Seeing your little deer baby makes me so homesick for the mountains.
I'm an Appalachian girl at heart stuck here on the coast of NC. I wanna go home when I see your blog and read about your love for the mountains.

God Bless you for feeding the little critters.

hugs
Sissie

I just love those beautiful animals! How neat to have one come so close to you!. We live in the woods on a half mountain top and I love to see the deer. We have a salt block and feeder to help them along and it seems they don't bother our plants and yard much. Of course we also have an outside dog and I am sure that helps!!

My husband is an avid hunter and I have no problem with that but did tell him the deer on our property are off limits!! Thanks for sharing!

Oh Gloria -- you and Len are just the best! I remember my uncle saying that he always planted two gardens -- one for him and one for the deer -- he really did!

Gloria, your very own pet deer how sweet! Deer are such beautiful and graceful creatures. We have them visit our orchard often too. My hubby has to run them off though, they like to eat the bark on the young trees... Maybe he should try bringing them some bread to eat instead!

Of course I love seeing them:) I also got a photo of one the other day too! Wish it was a close up like your lil sweetie.

Have a nice Sunday on your Mtn!
Sherri:)

I just love it when I see the deer around here except when they are naughty and eat my plants or are jumping out in front of the car. The deer are everywhere around here but never get too close. Yours is very special! They are very pretty aren't they!

Good Morning Gloria,
Thanks for visiting my blog and your sweet comment! Your blog is so charming and your rooms are gorgeous!! I just posted this morning about this kind of different settee and chair I have- you mentioned you love antiques-if you get a chance- check them out- maybe you have an idea about them.
Glad you stopped by! New follower here! :)

Gloria, thanks so much for your sweet comments on my breakfast room wall. I really do like it too. You asked about the basket. I just used walnut minwax stain and a sponge brush to drench it. It took about 12 hours to dry, but I like the darker color and it did come out like I wanted it to. I can't wait to see your TTT post. Hope you are having a super day. Hugs, Marty

Hi again~
Thanks for the info on the chair and settee! Wow!! Can't believe it!! Should I even consider painting them? Oh boy! I thought you might have an idea about them after looking at your beautiful home and furniture!
Yes- California girl here- and I am in the Sierra Nevada foothills- looks like you must be somewhere around here- Go NOR-CAL! & go LEOS!!
I would absolutely love it if you wanted to do a little post about my blog! Oh my gosh, you are so sweet! Let me know if there is anything you need- I'm learning about blogging as I go- so don't know how it all works yet.
Thanks so much again! :)
