~BLUE MONDAY AND A CLOCHE~

Good Morning Guys!!! Hey it's BLUE MONDAY and a new month... Now our great hostess Sally at http://smilingsally.blogspot.com/ always has some Beautiful Blues to share each week with us...Please do yourself a favor and go by and see all the BLUEness for the day!!Now girls as you know I have been sick and couldn't get out of this house and my body was getting so sore from just laying around...that the other day I needed something to do...So I made a Cloche !!!

Now see this Vase and candle ?? well you know how these candle get where you can't light them anymore...of course you do!!

I turned the Vase upside down...

Took the plastic thingy off the candle lid, got out my Gorilla Glue...

Here the plastic thingy...

Glued the glass top from the candle on the vase and dah dah !! Set on a BLUE Charger, added some little BLUE birds and nest under it put a tassel on the top and now I have a new Cloche...Just shopped my house...found things laying around...And Len was very Lucky I didn't use him ha ha!!

Hope all of you have a GREAT Blue Monday...Me I'm off to see all the Blue gals today...

Hugs and smiles Glria

This is the greatest idea ever.
I am thrilled to know that I have you looking for white dishes. LOL Yes, you need them!! Put 'em behind the drapes, under the sofa. etc. LOL And they will be great with your blue-and-white pottery. A natural combination.

I've been meaning to tell you something. I LOVE your sense of humor, Gloria. Each time you leave a note on my blog, you make me smile. You spread sunshine and joy wherever you go.

This cloche was so easy with a beautiful spring result! They can be pretty spending at the home decor stores. Thanks for sharing!

My computer crashed and I was at a stand still for several days. Until the hubs and son could work on it. Since my blogging wasn't their priority. Go figure. I had to wait sooo long....luckily it was a quick fix, but I've missed out on so much blogging fun.

Sweet Wishes,
Sara

That is amazing! If I didn't know it was an upside down vase and a glass top I would have never known it wasn't a store-bought cloche!!!! The vignette inside is great and I love that blue charger. :D Jewel

Gloria, You are so clever! I've been wondering how to create a cloche and you have solved the problem! Debbie and I live in areas of Atlanta that were hard hit by snow, so we don't know if we can make the lunch or not : (
Our schools are closed in our county, icy roads, but not in the county where the lunch is today. Go figure! Linda

Good Morning, Dear Gloria!

What a clever thing to do! Love how you made that cloche! And I love what you put under it, too! This is an idea I might just have to borrow! I have some of those candles... now I just need to find a vase shaped like yours! I do have one cloche I bought at Marshall's years, ago, but a girl can't have too many! ;-) Although, Mr. Magpie might argue that since I'm supposed to be saving.

Love to you and Happy Blue Monday!

XO,

Mag aka Shelia who hopes you are feeling much better! :-)

Mornin' Dearheart...

How are you doing today, Sweetie? Hope that my note finds you feeling better and better!!! I'm having a bad day...started feeling bad last night, just the fibro!

Girl, aren't you the clever one!!! I just would have never thought about making a cloche!!! What a GRAND idea!!! You're so creative and talented! It turned out beautifully! These cloches are so expensive so I think this is a great idea...those glass vases are fairly inexpensive and everyone has a ton of those candle jar lids! I love it! Love the pretty vignette you did for it too...that bluebird is precious! Love all of the pretty blue!!!

Have a marvelous Monday, Sweetie!
Love ya,
Chari
PS...so is that Gorilla glue the best thing to use on glass? I've never used it before!

Gloria that is awesome! You did a great job!! Happy Blue Monday :)

The body may be in slow motion, but I can see the brain is going at least 90 mph.

I always keep the lids to jar candles to place over the jar opening to extinguish the candle, after I've burned it for several hours. After the oxygen is consumed, the candle goes out. Less funny or strange odor when you put it out this way. Now I just need to find some Gorilla Glue and the right size container, and I'll be in business.

Wow! What a great idea, Gloria, and it turned out so pretty. And you can do that when you're sick? I can just imagine what you can do when you are well, which I hope you will be very soon!...Christine

Gloria, Your little girls are so beautiful. Lucky you! Thank you for your comment earlier.
When you mention being for RMS or HGTv, I'm not sure which one, anyway, did that mean you posted your home ? If so, that must be exciting.
Is it still on and would I be able to see it ?
Not to be nosey, but I am always amazed at these gorgeous places are done by every day people.
If it's on, I'd love to see it............ :) :)

Hi Gloria,
It's me again, and, yes, I did make the luncheon in spite of the weather. Fortunately the other grandmother of my grands was willing to watch all 4 of our grands while I went. I had the twins for 3 1/2 days, and then I swapped them for the 4yr old and the 1 yr old and will keep them till Mom and Dad return.(we are both babysitting for a week!). Oh, it was so nice to meet so many bloggers! Too bad you are waaayyyy across the country : (

Dear Gloria your prayers for my Mama mean so much to me. I know we are such kindred spirits in the love for our Moms. Did you see that my baby boy was facing some health issues too? He sure could use the prayers too, he has a doctor appointment tomorrow that may answer some of our questions.. we are so praying the answers are good ones. Your words made me cry, to say I am the best Sis in this group is really saying something...and my heart just can't think that we all could hold that title equally, what a beautiful bunch of sisters God has brought us. Love, Cindy
