~Tea, Tables and Blue~

You want to see Mayberry....This is my little town that I just love...It's Sutter Creek, Ca this town is a former Gold mining town it use to be full of Salons, and Brothels YES me heard me right lol!! ....Now its full of gift shops, Antique shops YAHOO!! and the cutest little tea room now, I know the miners didn't have alot of use for a Tea room ha ha!! You can see how little my town is also...Hey I really am a small town girl... And just Lovin it....

Is my town not cute...any minute you think you'll see Sheriff Taylor , Barney or Otis the town drunk coming down the street....

Don't you love the tea room sign with the tea pot on it..... Don't you think Aunt Bea would have loved this....

Oh!! and inside they have so many wonderful tea items to buy....Just look at this beautiful set, a wee bit out of my SS income ha ha!!

I love to take out of town guest here...always a treat for the ladies...

I love this olden cupboard that they used for display....

Look at the front they put wall paper on it...is this not too fun....

Now these next pictures are just random shots of my kitchen....Some of my Blue stone ware These all sit in my Camel Cigarettes display case....I'll walk a mile for a Camel...do you remember that commerical probably not way before your time...ha ha!!

some of my Antique Coffee grinders.... One of my olden signs....

My kitchen window....

A door push from an old general store hangs above from my cupboard.... And being as Easter is almost here I wanted to show you my Bunny Bread sign....

And Yes I have a French Blue sink....I custom ordered this in 1996 and have yet to get tired of it...Hey I have always marched to the beat of a guitar with a few stings missing ha ha!!

One of my Butter Churns in the window...

My Sunshine Biscuit Boy from ca. 1940 is he not cute....and the little turtle sour dough bread my Grandson Josh and his wife Heather got me from Fisherman's wharf sits on it....I just thought it was so cute...Now I was suppose to eat it Josh said...but had I ate it I would not have it now...Just a reminder of my sweet visit with him and his wife sighs....

My "Elsie" cow.... Now Len gave this to me when he first met me...said it reminded him of me lol!! He almost got dinner on his head that night...But he really quick told me the big eyes on it reminded him of me...Now that's a fast thinking man for sure ha ha!! At least one that doesn't want to wear his dinner as a hat....

Just a little cupboard that I keep my Scissors in...That I cut out wall paper tea cups and put on the front of it....

The best thing since sliced Bread...why it's a antique Bread slicer with some of my olden tins in it...ha ha!! I love the Union Leader Tobacco tin...Kids use to use these for lunch pails after they were empty....

Bread shelf display from old store and I have an Golden Grain rolling pin sitting on it...behind it is a "Horlick Malted Milk Can"

"Hires" syrup dispenser ca.1900 Now I know that most people don't care for the garden windows any more...but I had this put in just so I could add some of my Olden stuff in it to look at while I do dishes...I also love being able to change it out all the time ha ha!!

I am linking up to Marty's " A Stroll Thru Life " Table top Tuesday....Don't you love her name...Lady Katherine " Tea Time Tuesday"And Smiling Sally's Blue Monday.... Thank you ladies for hostessing these fun events for us to enjoy....

Now that's allot of Parties for me and I don't know about you but I'm exhausted now...ha ha!! ( and no Justine this is not a fake cat good grief girl your starting to make me feel like Steven King here )

May all of you have a GREAT day...

Until next time from my mountain top to yours,

Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria

Gloria, what a thrill to turn on the computer and what do I see, just you and your wonderful little towen and some of your fabulous antiques. I love them all. The tea room is just so cute and that first tea set is indeed stunning. I can afford it, but what a dream. I love all of your collections and your garden window is done up just perfectly. I love looking at all the old things. I think that's because I am so old that I remember some of them. Anyway being 39 and some months does have it's advantage. lol Hope you have a super day. Hugs, Marty

Hi Sis...

Girl, are you snowed in yet? Ohh my gosh, is this winter ever going to end? Well...at least you have a fabulous place to be "hold up in"! Girlfriend, I could spend a "month of Sundays" just going through all of your pretties! Ohh...I'm sure that I would really look snoopy! Hehe! Well Darlin', I loved the photos of your "Mayberry"! What a quaint little town...I just know that I would love it! Especially with all those great shops! Hehe! Thank you so much for taking us on a tour through that sweet Tea Shop! Ohhh my goodness, I would definitely be spending some time there! Hehe! I loved those tea sets...weren't they exquisite? Simply gorgeous!!! And you're right about that antique cupboard where the pretties were displayed! Wouldn't that look great at my place...especially with that pretty olive green frenchy wallpaper! Oooh!!!

Now Sis, you know that I just adore your beautiful blue kitchen! Ohhh...and that fabulous french blue sink!!! Shoot, I wouldn't mind washing dishes at all in that pretty sink! Hehe! And...I love, love, LOVE your bay window at the sink!!! I loved getting to look at all of your antiques and pretties there! You know, this is the first time that I noticed those pretty shelves above your sink! I love how you did that crocheted lace in the glass doors...gorgeous, Sis!!! I'm so glad that you took us for a spin around your beautiful kitchen...it is always such a treat for me!!!

Well, we just got back from town. Went in for the weekly groceries and ate out! We got all new tires on the old Ford so our baby had new shoes! Hehe! Russell is out in the shop now...still tinkering on the Ford. But I think he has it ready to go! I'm getting so anxious! I'm counting down the days, Sis!!!

Love ya, Honey!
See ya soon...

I am loving the downtown area of your town because here in Chicago, everywhere is a downtown! I'd love to visit some of those small shops and antique stores. I am not much for the tea things.

Your kitchen counters remind me of mine. My daughters complain that they can't even make toast or a bowl of cereal because I have so much decorative stuff on them. Give me a surface and I will cover it! lol!!

Love your little cow and I'm glad you forgave Len (my father's name) and I love all of your memorabilia. Those were the good old days!

THANK YOU FOR BEING SO GRACIOUS ALWAYS TO SHARE YOUR HOME AND LIFE.

Gloria I so enjoyed seeing your small town. Being a small town girl, I truly appreciate it.

I love your kitchen! I see lots of familiar things. We have similar pieces of blue and white.

Hope your week is wonderful.

Marjorie (Molly) Smith said...

Wow, where do I start, first let me say your town is fantastic, I wish my little town had preserved it's old time, simple beauty. But no, in the 60's the powers to be decided we needed to modernize and tore all the old balconies off and gave the whole town a face lift...the original town looked like a page out of the French Quarters with all the balconies made from wrought iron. Now they are slowing adding them back.
You tea house is beautiful. And your kitchen is a fairy land...I remember I'd walk a mile for a camel.
Thanks for showing us around your lovely kitchen

Your kitchen just looks like such a nice place to spend some time. Either cooking, or enjoying a cup of tea or coffee. Looking at it I get a sense of comfort.

Your town is adorable! I've ALWAYS wanted to live in a small town, but alas, it's not meant to be.

I can say that I live in the oldest city in the United States though!
