WEEKEND LAUGH!!!
A nice, calm and respectable lady went into the pharmacy, walked up to the pharmacist, looked straight into his eyes and said, "I would like to buy some cyanide." The pharmacist asked, "Why in the world do you need cyanide?" The lady replied, "I need it to poison my husband." The pharmacist's eyes got big and he exclaimed, "Lord have mercy! I can't give you cyanide to kill your husband. That's against the law! I'll lose my license! They'll throw both of us in jail! All kinds of bad things will happen. Absolutely not! You CANNOT have any cyanide!" The lady reached into her purse and pulled out a picture of her husband in bed with the pharmacist's wife. The pharmacist looked at the picture and replied, "Well now, that's different. You didn't tell me you had a prescription."

I just came by while on my bloggy break, this afternoon. I've been working on the dish closet. I am now taking a little "me time".:-)
Cute joke.
Happy Weekend, Gloria!
Sounds good to me Gloria! I will have to eat Gloria cookies though because my name can be found no where in print. LOL!
Your sofa is just so pretty girl.
Lona
Enjoy your 'ME' time...you deserve it, busy lady. I loved your joke and can't wait to tell hubs!!
;-)

Gloria, that is a great joke to start the weekend off with!
I am soooo in love with your little couch and those fabulous pillows! But the real attention getter was that pretty magnifying glass! I wish I had such a pretty one! :-)
you are so right, we do need ME time, and I am in need of it BIG time over here. The family is loved dearly, but they can be stressful at times, each of them coming to me with their troubles and hoping I will have an answer. Add to that all the laundry, cooking, cleaning, dishes, well, you get the picture. I fear I am a bit burned out of late. I definitely could use some me time.
have a great weekend and thanks for sharing such lovely pictures with us all! Enjoy a cookie for me, they look good!! hugs, Debby
Hello Gloria,
You are so right, we all need more "Me" time.
Love the lady and the pharmacist!

Funny! I have me time on weekends, my "uniform" is gray sweatpants and one of my daughter's college sweatshirts! Books and sweets are my treat to me too, along with a sappy movie on the Lifetime network:)
Happy Weekend!
Oh good! Now I don't have to feel guilty when I get up on Sat a.m. and lounge around in my pj's! It's true though, we need that time to rejuvenate ourselves!

Oh I love you too, Gloria, you are so sweet and so generous. Let's see, what will I buy if I win? Uhm better not count the chicken before they hatch. And that joke is hilarious! Thanks for the good laugh again. I love your settee! I don't remember ever seeing it before. Baby is doing fine, he is growing fast! And yours are multiplying, lol! Isn't that fun?...Christine

Hi Sis...
Whew...things have settled down for the time being and I have a little time so wanted to come by! I feel so bad that I've missed your last couple of posts...I'm sorry! It's just been hectic here! We have Darrin this weekend...had to go up to the big city to pick him up last night. Poor Danielle is sick she stayed home. Anyway...I really could use some of that "just sit and relax" time right now! Ooooh...and a hot cup of coffee and a couple of your sweet "Gloria" cookies sound sooo good!!! Girlfriend, where do you have this gorgeous settee at in your house? I know that I've seen it before but I'm not putting it all together (brain fog)! It's just gorgeous and I love, love, LOVE those beautiful decorative pillows!!! Love your pretty throw too! Darlin', these photos are simply fabulous...they look like they just stepped off of a Victorian Home magazine...sooo pretty!!! Thanks for sharing them with us...and the cup of coffee and sweets too!!!
Girl, I just busted a gut reading that joke! Too funny!!! Well Darlin'...I'm off to see your last post that I missed!!! I hope that you're having a wonderful and relaxing weekend!!! Love you, Sweetie!!!
Chari
Sweet Gloria, Thanks for stopping by and leaving me your kind comment. It's much appreciated. Don't you just love that there are cookies named after you? L.O.L. I would have to keep those in the cupboard all the time if I was you!
I can't even imagine drinking coffee in such a dainty and pretty cup!
Heeheehee on the joke!
Justine :o )
Hi Gloria,
Looks like the perfect place to read a book and have a cup of coffee.
Enjoy your me time this weekend.
Hugs
Carolyn
What a great way to spend a lazy afternoon. A good book, a cup of tea, and COOKIES! Thanks for stopping by. The Capitol really is an amazing building, and it is kept with such love and care. While we were there, a custodian was walking around with a tennis ball on a stick rubbing out scuff marks! I wonder how long that takes, this building is HUGE. Hope you are having a wonderful, relaxing weekend. I'm not going to worry about waxing my floors anytime soon :). Hugs, Kathy
Oh Gloria, what a GORGEOUS little settee.
I just noticed this evening that you started following my blog! Oh thank you sooooo much!!!
That was a good one LOL! Yep, I always try to take time out for me every day. Every now and then I need to take a whole day and just do nothing or do totally what I want to do. You're so right about "me time" being important!
Manuela
O, Gloria...I just love you, girl. You have the cutest personality...and your heart is pure gold. I am so lucky to have you for my friend.
I laughed so hard at the cute joke...and now, I have to find some Gloria Cookies!! :)
You have sent me such sweet gifts so please don't add my name to your generous Amazon gift...let my chance go to someone else. But, I do thank you for the offer.
Have a really restful Sunday!
Love, bj
OH, and when you get the chance, come by and take a peek at the top of my sidebar...heh heh....
Ok, once I finished wiping the drool off of the computer screen after seeing your GORGEOUS settee and Victorian treasures I let out a laugh that rang through house after reading the pharmacist joke! What a great post!
Blessings,
Kim
Gloria,
I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I never thought that a simple story about a daughter's love would cause such an outpouring of emotion from so many. I was truly blessed with eveyone's own personal stories that I heard yesterday. Thanks for taking the time out of your busy day to visit me ! Hugs,
Debbie
Gloria-I think my time blogging is my "me" time! I also love a good bubble bath with a book :) I love your dresser that used in your master bath! I am hoping to do this soon in a powder room. Hope you are having a great weekend!
Oh scooch over, I'll bring my book and some cookies to share :) Thankgs for the giggle!
Hugs,
Dena
How appropriate that I would come and read your post during my me time :). I am enjoying a cup of coffee, but I'm not sitting on anything near as pretty as your bench. That is so feminine and pretty.
Loved your joke too.
Have a great week.
I am new to your blog, today's post was really cute, I am still chuckling! Oh and as for me time, that is why I blog, I love it!!
