This is the front....
And the bottom can you see the roller, drum, and tambourine ca.1880
Another one of my "Gone with the wind " lamps this is Majolica it's from italy and see the Griffiths on it...I just love anything also with winged lions
French clock ca. 1800 this clock has Cherubs, an eagle, fish. ram head, women so many things on it...I usually have this sitting more on the side on the top....but I needed to cover up the Ruben woman in front as I didn't want to offend anyone in blog land with the semi-nude picture ha ha!! But hey every piano in a Saloon had a nude lady hanging above them....
"Bull's eye" amber lamp this lamp's base is cooper and brass
Buggy seat...Now this was in very bad shape when I found it....but just knew it would make a great piano bench ca. 1900...you see I love antiques but won't have them in my house unless they look good
Back of Buggy seat again quarter saw oak some people also call this Tiger oak because of the pattern on it....
Side view...
You get 1 song for 1 quarter.....Hey and it still works and people do put their quarters in it to see....Hey got to pay for my Antique fund some how ha ha!!
And no piano player would not have a spittoon's or two to spit his chew ha ha!!
Piano bust...Please I can't listen to this music anymore...
But I just got started blowing my horn ha ha!!
Tin bugle that hangs by the piano...ca. 1900
Tin bugle that hangs by the piano...ca. 1900
Framed sheet music...a antique friend of mine gave this to me right after we added on the Dining room in 1996...As you see my Late Husband's name was Wally Lawrence.
Now this is my best friend...Many asked me if I had help with all this stuff I have and YES I do !! so meet my sweet best friend called Swiffer ha ha!! She visit here every day and helps me keep everything dusted...
Justine also asked if the Sympbonion Music box still played being's it's 276 years old and YES it still works....I did a short video of the player piano...Hope you enjoy my friends...Please take the time if you have not voted on my poll on my side bar if you still want to see more of my Antiques...I thank all of you that have voted so far....May all of you have a great day and many blessings.....Until next time from my mountain to yours....

The swiffer is my best friend too!
Your piano is beautiful. I noticed the fancy foot petals. Using that bench is a great idea. Your lamps are phenomenal! Love it!
That player piano is simply beautiful, what a find that was. I know the picture is so special to you and the friend that gave it to you.
Hugs,
Chris
Oh Gloria, you've got the most fabulous stuff! I just love the colors of that stained glass on the piano.
Hugs,
Dawn
Gloria, how I envy you. You have the best antiques I seen in a home in a long time. I just love the player piano and the buggy seat you use as a piano seat. The photo are great. Enjoyed this very much. Have a great day. Madeline
Gloria..you have such beautiful treasures...love the piano....
Gloria, your piano is just fabulous. I love it and all your lamps and decorations are wonderful. Love the buggy seat, what a treasure. The video was such fun. I love seeing all of your antiques. They are stunning. Hugs, Marty
I'd put a quarter in the piano if I was there! This piano takes me back to my sweet aunt's player piano. I'm sure I was waaay off tempo when I pumped the pedals but I loved to play it and sing to it. Her husband, my uncle who I adored, was dying of leukemia and used to ask me to play Eidelweiss (excuse the spelling) on it all the time. He must have liked it. Ahh, such fond memories. He's wasn't as fancy as your's though. I fell in love with that buggy seat the minute I saw it! Do you know that I love oak? When we made our kitchen cabinets I fell in love with the smell, grains, and just the beauty of the oak planks. Your buggy looks to even be the stain color we used. Beautiful post in more ways than one. Cindy
What a fun piece, Gloria! I love it, and that was such a novel idea to use the buggy seat with it... love how you redid it... beautiful!
I'm laughing at that little girl with hands over her ears. LOL! Is that YOU??? You have such a love of whimsy. That's one reason I know we're related!
Sending you big hugs this cold morning. We are FREEZING in Florida. And you know, this child does not have the clothes to deal with it!
XO,
Sheila :-)
P.S. I enjoyed the player piano video, too! Is that you with the tamborine in the background??? ;-)
OMG it DOES play, and it sounds wonderful! Oh Gloria, how lucky for you. It's beautiful! Now here's an idea... any antique you have that DOES something, I think you should end the post with a video of it doing its thing! Yep!
I also adore that cherub clock. Oh my, I want to take a real tour of your house and play!
And yes, Swiffer is a girl's best friend these days!
Now pop on over to see me. I've missed getting your comments!
Justine :o )
The piano is beautiful and I am in love with that clock!
You have to love the swiffers. What did we ever do with out them?
Your Piano is a true beauty. Oh, if it could only talk and the stories it could tell from what it has been privy to. HA!
Your picture is perfect above it. They go hand with the beautiful buggy seat... All your antiques are fabulous and sweet treasures.
Thanks for sharing and I hope your week is treating you better.

Happy New Year Gloria,

May all your dreams come true this year.

Hi Gloria. I've just been catching up on my blogging and viewed your last three posts. Thank you so much for the museum tour! I love it. I want to see more. I just found a couple of weeks ago 2 of the smaller swan salt cellars for only $2 at a thrift shop. Exactly the same as you've got. I'm going to post them for Silver Sunday at Gypsy Fish Journal. Keep the tour going! Rosie
Gloria,
Beautiful piano, and I don't have to tell you how much I love the lamps, they are just wonderful. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has one of the pictures you have, worry about offending someone with.
DH suggested I hang mine in my dressing room. Thanks for sharing, I hope we get to see more.
Sandy
Such a beautiful piece, Gloria, but all your things are beautiful. I love the lamps and your clocks too!...Christine
You live in an antique shop, a really good one. You really have some of the nicest pieces I've seen and my FIL has been an antique dealer for decades. I'm having fun with your tours!

Oh baby, the piano is just gorgeous! My Granny Walden had a player piano when this Ozarks farm chick was growing up that was just a treasure. When Granny had a stroke and moved to town my bachelor uncle took over the farm house. He chopped the piano up and used it for firewood. FIREWOOD!!!
I enjoyed my visit, ya'll have a wonderfully blessed day!!!
woweeeeee! i haven't seen a better one! i'm off to "play it again, sam!" (hugs)
Mornin' Sis...
Just read your sweet note...so happy to hear from you, Sweetie! I just giggled...I know, you and me make quite the pair, Darlin'! Hehe!
I'm sooo glad that you did this post on your fabulous player piano!!! It's just a gorgeous piece and so unique! You know...you need to explain to me what "quarter saw" oak is! I've always heard the term. I usually call this Tiger Oak as you wrote about. Also what exactly is the Cooper brass about...that you mentioned when talking about that beautiful lamp? Sis, I just love your blue lamp from Italy...it's fabulous!!! Also...this is the first time that I seen that sweet bench! It's awesome and what a great idea to use it as the piano bench...love it!!! Ohhh...I just adore your player piano...it's one of the prettiest that I've seen!!! The stained glass is gorgeous!!! I'm soooo glad that you did a video of it playing...I loved getting to hear it!!! Awesome!!! Okay...another question...do you have this in your dining room? Shoot, you've probably said before but I just don't remember!
Well Sis...so happy to hear from you today! I'm doing okay...just moving really, really slow! My lower back, tailbone, and leg is really bothering me...it just about cripples me! I guess I need to go and see the chiropractor, maybe that would help! The stupid thing won't let me get any sleep...I just have to get up and move around once in awhile...it kills me to sleep very long! Hey...I'm up for that nap idea though! Hehe! Girl, you always just make my day!!! You are my "ray of sunshine"!!! Love you, Sis...

I don't think any of us tire of seeing your wonderfland of antique beauties, Ms Gloria.
One can hear the excitement in your posts when you write about them...
trust me, it is contagious, in a good way :)
Gloria, I have coveted this piano since the first time I saw it. I've always wanted a player piano (since my piano lessons proved I didn't have much talent!). I don't remember ever seeing the buggy bench. What a smart idea! I loved seeing and hearing the video of the piano. Your lamps, busts, and other accessories are perfect with the piano. laurie
