~More of my Dining Room~

Hello Guys....well I told you I would show you more of my Dining room this week...so here goes...This is a corner where desk area is....

Now this is one of my oldest Music boxes....It's a "Sympbonia Musik Automat" and it's coin operated from Germany ca. 1740

This plays disc as you can see and I have over 2 dozen differ music disc for it....

This hangs on the wall above my desk....

This is where you dropped the coin and turned the handle to listen to the music....These use to be in salons and Theaters lobbies I got this piece for my 39th Birthday and bought it right out of a collector home

My desk and crystal Ink wells...this Ink well is from England...Oh and see that sweet little angel Tootsie send that to me 2 year ago for my Birthday...It's so sweet Thanks Toots I use it as a book end....

One of my "Gone with the Wind" lamps and why they call them gone with the wind is because they were used in the movie....But truth be told they were not even invented until after the civil war 1890 and they were called parlor lamps or oil lamps at that time....it's very hard to find these lamps today that are not a marriage...meaning the globe doesn't match the base etc.

An Angle lamp with an Amberina Shade...these lamps were used in Railroad parlor cars and is a gas lamp ca.1880

A hall lamp with "ruby" glass shades these were very popular in homes when electric was invented....The top shade is called an Elsie design

Now I just wanted you to see how I had the cabinet maker put these Stain glass window in for me....I had this dining room added on in 1996 and I got 4 of these stain glass windows that came out of a church in Marion. Ill....My late FIL had them sitting out in his yard for many years and they were covered with at least 5 coats of paint....He told me if I could get them home I could have them....Well I about broke my neck running to the phone and called a moving company and had them shipped home....Took many Hours to strip off all the paint and re stain them and I also had to re lead allot of them....These just sit in front of the windows that we had put in this room all I have to do is lift up on them to clean....this way if I want to move I don't have to leave the stain glass windows as they are not part of the house....

Victorian floor lamp....I made the shade for this many years ago when I was making Victorian lamp shades....This shade is a tulip shape...

This sits under my desk....can you guess what it is??? Well it's a cash register from an old general store....I have had many of my Antique friends that have wanted me to sell this piece to them...but I'm selfish and won't sell it but it's the only one I have found like this....ha ha!! Now I have added a vote poll to the top of my side bar to see how many really want to see anymore of my antiques or not...as I really don't share alot of them because I feel I bore you guys with them...So please vote and let me know if you want more or don't bother us any more with them...Antiques and the history on them are my passion...but I also know many don't care for them....
