~I LOVE STAINS~

Glass that is....I'm joining in with 2 of Bloggerville's favorite ladies today.... Smiling Sally for Blue Monday and

Susan at Between naps on the porch.....Please go by and see both these sweet ladies today...

Len got this Stain glass piece for me at Christmas...I have seen it for months and just knew where I wanted to hang it....

But hold everything...I can't reach up there to even clean that window...As you can see it even had the stickers from when it was put in...another contractor horrid story here...why would he put in a window that opens and closes it not like I can reach it DUH!!! You see this is the barn Silo aka. foyer on my house ...Oh yes I said barn another story another day....

Any hoo moving right along....You see that cute little butt up there?? Well that's my cute grandson in law Branden...Oh I just love that boy to death you see I don't do ladder any more...last time I tried to change a light bulb in my bathroom I fell into the shower and laid there for hours.... Knocked me out cold and I broke my finger nail ha ha!! Don't you hate when that happens ?

So up went cutie Butt and Cleaned all the windows for me as there are 3 of them up here and it's 3 stories high ( see what I mean about needing windows that open ).

Hung up the hooks and added the chain for me...Now the tricky part was how was he going to climb back up that ladder with window in tow....Now this is where I came in to help...I stood there with my eyes closed and sweated...Hey that helped allot ha ha!! Len handed it up to him...and the whole time I was telling Cutie Butt to be careful....As you can tell he had no shoes on...Hey it's a house rule But come on Branden you could have wore your shoes that once...ha ha!!

I just love the way the glass plays on the wall when the sun came out for 15 minutes that day....Sally do you see the Blue here....

Just look at that proud Peacock...is he not Purdy...Oh I ♥ him.....

Oh THANK YOU Cutie Butt for doing this for Granny girl...And Len who guards his candy like a Pit Bull even let Branden take his last Snicker bar that day ha ha!! Hey we pay well around here... I think he just did that so we can get Cutie Butt to come back and hang the other 2 windows and light fixtures...Oh yes another horrid contractor's story...You see the sheet rock guys screwed into the electrical wire so none of the electric works there...And the electrican will be out on Tuesday that was the last thing he said to me 3 years ago...Guess I should of asked which Tuesday of what year he meant ha ha!!

I hope all of you have a GREAT day on your side of the mountain.....

Until next time,

Ooh ooh ooh, that is BEAUTIFUL! The peacock, not Branden's butt. Well wait, that's pretty nice too.

I cannot believe the contractor put in windows that open up there! What an IDIOT. Guess you need to be real specific like with those guys.

So are you getting the electric fixed in the silo?

Justine :o )

Dear Gloria! Hello! I've missed you and Blogland so much!
Oh, that is the most beautiful stained glass window I've just ever seen! The peacock and the work is gorgeous!
What a nice little cutie butt you have! :) He was pretty brave to climb all that way up! I climb a lot because I'm so short! Even on a ladder I probably couldn't have reached your window! Looks so pretty!
Take care, Dear One, and thank for popping in to see me.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

I think everyone loves peacocks . . . until you have to live with them. They are gorgeous to look at, but when they roam wild in your neighborhood, you kind of have a tendency to want to SHOOT THEM! They are sooooo loud and their poop must be the size of a medium dog. They tear up your flowers and stalk you if you happen to be out walking and come across them. You'll see one arrogant male with his harem of 5 females (who are UGLY) and ya kind of stand there and say to him "OK Boy - whatcha gonna do?"
So I think I LOVE the glass version much better.
Thanks for sharing! Girl you should be getting some SNOW! yes?
HAGD! Karen

Love that piece of stained glass...I used to do some stain glass myself years back...kinda like quilting because the glass has patterns and textures just like material...instead of thread you use solder...

That's a high foyer too...I was getting a little dizzy looking at the pictures...:)

The peacock is lovely. My mother was awarded the first "Living Treasure" award for her work with stained glass in Arkansas. I did not inherit her talent but did work long hours at grouting and installing her windows. When I looked at your beautiful suncatcher enlarged I noticed it seemed to be resting on its base. If it is truly a leaded glass piece and it is not hanging completely from the chains, it is in danger of bending somewhere in the middle. I would make sure it is not bearing any of its own weight. love your blog.

very nice. I have a scripture shirt with a peacock with his feathers all tucked up tight and it says something like our beauty is hidden for now but it will be seen 1 day when we get to strut our stuff before Jesus for a second before we throw our crown at his feet. blessings, xox

LOL That stained glass is sooo pretty. That was the perfect place for it. What a great gift. Thanks for sharing this cute "adventure." You are just too funny...and I am sorry to hear about the broken nail. I hope you have fully recovered. :-D Hugs, Barb

Beautiful stain glass. Enjoy all the sunny days to come. Do you have a chair near by, where you can sit and watch all the beautiful colors on the wall?

Girl, we didn't get home till about 10pm last night! I read your sweet note though! I had already prepared that post and pre-scheduled it to post. I'm so sorry that I didn't tell you about that sale at Dillards but I can explain...really I can! Hehe! This all happened about 2 o'clock in the morning! There must have been hundreds shopping at the same time because just as soon as I would add an item to my shopping cart...next thing I would know...it would be sold out! Shoot! I had thought about buying several of these crystal cake plates and saving them back for gifts...I mean, what a deal! And my photos really doesn't do it justice...it really is gorgeous! I guess everyone else thought so too because all I could get ordered was one! Okay...I'm going to just have to email you...I'm writing a book with this comment! Hehe! I'll email later...

That was the first thing I noticed, that he didn't have any shoes on while on the ladder...yikes! Glad he was able to get that beautiful stained glass peacock window up there, it looks absolutely perfect there. I don't like going up ladders...by the third rung I start to panic! lol Isn't it a shame that some contractors just have no pride in their work...hopefully you can eventually get the electricity back in that place. xoxo
