~~COUNTRY GOLD LIVING part 2 ~~~

Well girls lets take a road trip today to Amador City, California...this is the little Gold town I told you I use to work in...built in 1850.. Now here we are on California Gold Highway 49...which was named for Gold being discovered in 1849.... Is this not the cutest little town??? Oh girls you such see this little town at Christmas...all the fresh made cedar garlands and lights are strung across the street..and all the shops have Hot apple cider and home made cookies YUMMY!!!

Lets park so we can take a lunch break girls... Now grab your Stop sign so we can walk across the street and stop all this traffic...Yes you are your own crossing guard in the town.. pick it up and lets go...leave it at the other side...Hey this is very Hi-tech for this town....ha ha !!

Well here we are at Buffalo Chips the best and oldest restaurant in town and its open so lets see Whats for lunch...

Lets take a peek and see who's inside first...

Oh Look !! its Ashley...she is one of 2 sister that owe the best Hamburger Joint in town...her Sister Chrissy must be off today...both of these girls took this restaurant over from their Mama Marie, when she retired.... Marie did all homemade Pies soups etc. and her daughters have made her proud as they have not changed a thing....all home made food YUM !!! (ps Ashley don't kill me for showing all the dirty dishes ...you know you love me more than your luggage girl)
Now this is the Kitchen...and I thought my kitchen was small...these Sister made the most wonderful breakfast and lunches all on just this grill... Now lets get us a Hamburger and find a place to sit....

There are 2 dining area in this place...an upper and a lower...this is the lower room...and I love all the old signs in here...lookies!! at all the old coke trays hanging on the wall and the red and white stripe wall paper and teal colored wainscoting...just too cute...
Look at all these Candies...the big Suckers...wow!! I remember my dawna hitting her sister in the head with one of these and it got struck to Gina's hair ...what a mess that was...Oh Kids and the memories they give you lol !!
Now we also have side walk eating !!! I just love the Heart back Ice cream parlor chairs and little tables out here...they even have an old granite ware bowl with water in it for the visiting dogs here...Now we have the upper class eating area...check out all the great signs again... this is the left side...
and here is the right side...aren't all those old clocks just wonderful...so much eye candy here ..I just love to eat and look at it all...
Now lets get us an Ice Cream...oh girls they have Bubble Gum Ice cream that has real gum balls in it...when I worked next door at Country Living, Marie would bring me my cup of Bubble Gum Ice cream every day...Now the best part of all these signs and stuff is you can buy them...I found my best Yard long picture hanging ( another post about what are yard longs to come) here about 15 years ago...so I left with a full stomach and a new treasurer for my home...boy come to think of it that was an expensive hamburger that day...Hope you all enjoyed having lunch with me today...as I just love this place..the real thick milk shakes...you know the ones that your spoon stand up in !!! I love walking through the door and entering a step back in time...and I love when Ashley see me she just tosses a meat patties on the grill...I haven't seen a menu there in years they just know what I want and bring it on with extra pickles....

Next time i will show you the Biggest littlest rail road in the quaint Gold town !!!

Have a safe and blessed day as for me I think I made myself hungry and am going out to lunch... Hugs and smiles Gloria

I really had a time getting here today, but I made it. That lunch was delicious, especially the milkshake, and I thoroughly enjoyed the guided tour. So many treasures and I have so little space. The signage is most interesting.
I sure am glad we avoided that traffic jam. What a wonderful place to wander around for several hours. Truly a step back in time.

What a wonderful place for lunch and the stop sign thing was hilarious! I don't think Houstonians ( that's what we are called, lol. ) believe in stop signs. :) I just love that little town.

Hugs~ J.

p.s. Now, I'm starving, too.

Hi Happy. I am so glad to hear that your heart is warming up for the holidays. I know from experience that sometimes the holidays can be lonely when you lose a loved one. I didn't know that your Mother passed away last year. How did I not know that??? I'm so sorry. "Talk" soon, friend.

What a charming town, and I just love a really good old-fashioned hamburger with pickles. I think I have finally been able to put you on my blogroll - I've been having the devil of a time doing yours, for some reason. I kept getting some old blog of someone else, but with the Happy To Be name. Have a great week. Sally

I got a comment from Ann who said she's a friend of yours. She gave me her email. I wanted to look over her blog but I can't find any comments from her on here, maybe I've overlooked them or she didn't sign her name to a blogger name. Can you lead me to her? I'd like to see her blog. If she's a friend of your's she's a friend of mine! Cindy
