~~PINK SATURDAY~~~

Well girls ..its doesn't seem like it been a week since I did this last...Please Check out Beverly's http://http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/How Sweet the Sound to see all the great PINK stuff today...I know I am having a ball with this because if I posted for a year I could never run out of PINK !!! I thought I would show you my PINK sitting room in my bedroom today and yes its PINK.. from the carpet to the walls...now that little side table is really an "Coats and Clark" spool cabinet ca. 1880 it use to be in a general store..the little Settee is also from 1880 but I had it recovered and of course in PINK roses...all those round things you see stacked our old Hat boxes I covered in rose wall paper...And the KITTY taking a nap on my ottoman is so sweet..It never eats, drinks or runs around and I don't have to keep a litter box for it...its my Fake Kitty..it goes with my Fake bird in the bird cage....Now this also is one of many of my "Gone with the wind" lamps with its PINK roses painted on it...

This is an English Chamber set from ca. 1870 and it has little PINK roses on it..Also this is one on many of the Victorian lamps shades that I have made..This shade took me about 12 hours to make ..as its all hand sewn and I dye all the fringe and fabric myself...nothing is glued on these shades... Oh and the piece it is sitting on is one of my oldest antiques..ca. 1740 its a wine cabinet from England...one day I will show you the whole thing..this was the first piece that started my passion of collecting... In 1980

This is my Victorian Ladies sink area..and yes the walls here are also PINK... The lights on the wall were gas lights that my late DH made into electric for me..I just love the glow of the shades on them they are called "Elsie" shades and of course they are what else but PINK...The little vanity lamp and shade I also made...I know Fake flowers are a No No !! but these I added lights to so I use them as a night light...and the sink is in an old dresser from ca.1910 makes a great sink area when I love all things antique and Victorian...

Well girls I hope you enjoyed some of my PINK stuff...now go and visit some of the others and see all their PINK things they are sharing today...Have a great PINK Saturday....I'll see all of you on Monday...as tomorrow is my second Sunday swap meet YAHOO!!! over 300 dealers so I will be out for the day doing my Happy dance for sure...p.s am taking my camera with me!!!

Hugs and Smiles Gloria

Sue said...

hey G!! You had me laughing over at Donnas when you were talking about being on drugs when you added the A to Dawn, I thought you were gonna say you were on LSD or somethin, then I kept reading!! LOLOL!! Well what do you expect me to think when you said you're an old hippee who protested in Berkley! LOLO!! You are a hoot G! xoxoxo

You truly have an amazing talent with your lamps.
On your chamber set, there were a couple of pieces I'm not familiar with. To be honest, the only one I recognize is the chamber pot itself. I have seen pitchers that matched chamber pots, but the largest vessel didn't appear to have a handle for pouring.
This entire room is like a fantasy. Absolutely gorgeous.

I'm amazed that you handsew those fabric shades, absolutely stunning. I'd love a close up of it. I have to say I love that spool cabinet from Coats and Clarks! I could put it to so much use in my house!! This certainly is a very genteel room and I love the English feel of it. I just love looking at your treasures.

Well HELLO sweet Gloria!! How are you!? Yes, it's me - back from my little hiatus. I just got a wee bit overwhelmed with life around me but decided that blogging is "My Time" so here I am! And look at you with your fabulous blog! I love your pink room! And those lampshades are just gorgeous! Did you ever sell any of them? I love the sink dresser/vanity. It's just beautiful! And I was chuckling along with you about your hubby and the "simple" task of hanging new lights. I know how that one goes - it's never simple with my hubby either! But at least they are handy! Well I am going to add you to my blogroll so I can come back really soon. Have a great weekend! ~ Laurie
