~Perfume and Tiffany~

Hello Girls, Have you ever walked around your house and seen stuff you don't remember how you started a collection of.... I did get my curtain up above my bed....Remember when I found this 1940 Art Deco bedspread and valance at the Second Sunday swap meet....Also Len got all the oak trim finished staining this week in the bedroom Now I'm getting ready for paint...Oh yes I'm losing the Pink can you believe that...I have found a color called Malted Milk that I just love and it will go with my rose carpet so I don't have to change it out YIPPEE!!

I love Gold Filigree and I think it must have started with the Tiffany wall lamp...The shades are feather quail pink and they are by Quezal ca. 1890...Quezal worked for Louis Comfort Tiffany and was one of his glass blowers....
I love my Antique Filigree....but really didn't remember I had a collection of it....Until I was trying to put the bedroom back together yesterday....

Love my sweet little Filigree clock...

Are these tops not pretty....

The ring box Len got me a few years back....I guess I needed something else to dust ha ha!!

I am hooking this up with Cindy at "My Romantic Home" for show-n-tell Friday...This is my first time to do this meme....Sounds like fun as I have lots of stuff to show ha ha!!!

Hope all of you have a GREAT weekend...It's just beautiful here today on my mountain top...all my Daffs are just popping up all over sighs....

Until next time from my mountain top to yours,

Hugs and smiles Glria

I love the drapes behind your bed...so Victorian and elegant. I think the malted milk shade will make all of the pink just pop.

I have a perfume bottle with a filigree top, only I didn't know that is what it is called!! I have no idea who made it or if it is worth anything. It's pretty though.

We are having beautiful weather here in Chicago, too. I think it is in the 50's. Rain in time for us to go to the lake on Saturday...but it's not like I'll be swimming! lol

Happy Thursday, Gloria!! :-)

Gloria, another fabulous collection! You know so much. I'd get taken to the cleaners if I tried to buy these pretties. I'd end up with dime store stuff at antique store prices. That clock is stunning! Love that you put all of the pieces on the gold rimmed mirror. It all just sparkles. laurie

Ooh, I so want a peek at this malted milk color! When will you do the painting? and you just put the room back together, only to take it apart to paint! Len did a great job on the staining, and once again I've gotta give him kudos for sleeping in such a PINK room!

You have the most gorgeous ornate treasures. Your room is luscious. Its a room fit for royalty. The Victorians sure had good taste, and so do you. I'm so glad your snow is melting and daffodils coming up. They've called off the snow here for the weekend. I hope they're right this time.

You have the prettiest things, Gloria! You lucky ducky! I love those beautiful perfume bottles and your lovely trinkets! That cherub border is too precious!

Your room is so beautifully put together. Reminds me of the tours of famous homes, where the furniture is immaculately kept. You flow from one beautiful room to the next, guided by the red ropes that keep you far enough away but close enough to see the beautiful detail.

I was wondering, where do you keep those red ropes at night? ;)

Cheers!
Tina

You have a pretty collection. I have seen some really pretty perfume bottles out there and have been tempted, but I could easily be taken as I know nothing about them. I started a collection of bottles years ago (nothing of value), but did not continue with it - lack of space mainly.

Hi Sweetie, love your collection of the filigree it is just so beautiful. The bedroom is beautiful...I think the new color will make everything else just show beautifully....I love that you never seem to get stuck in a color just cause you loved it once, I always think it's important to stay current with colors of walls and that makes everything else fresh....I think your getting to be quite the professional with those pictures of yours...Hope all else is good on your side of the state, nice and warm here...take care sis..Phyllis

Hi sweetie, just little ole me. I'm so excited to be loose on a cold, windy Saturday night. Your room is "gorgeous". Your filigree is simply "beautiful". You certainly have some great treasures. I hope this finds you doing well darling. I've missed you. I've gone back and checked out your early posts.. WOW!!! I see I need to get busy and kick myself in gear... just toooo much going on. The first day of the open house is behind me, and tonight they are calling for 3 to 12 inches of snow. Girl we do not need this right now. If we get that much no one will be able to get down the lane to the shop, and it is loaded with some of the cutest bunnies ever. I'm hoping to get some pictures posted.. I got in the fab greenery and it has been a hit... sure wish you could be here to see all of it. Mr. P has not had such a good week.. so I'm hoping he'll improve over the w/k. He goes back to the doctor on Monday... so say a little pray... off to play with some pictures darling... miss ya love ya hugs ~lynne~
