Found this shelf about 2 months ago...Did I tell you I love wood craving??
Also found this old frame about the same time took some Rub -n- buff in antique gold to the corners of it...and knew it would work great for my 1950 "Life Magazine" advertisment of Duz Soap.... I bet a few of you in blogland remember the Old saying "Duz's does everything" This picture covers up the circuit box in my laundry room

These Duster's are rattan...they also made metal ones but those were used for beating rugs..
1 of my Ball Fruit jars turned lamp...and of course I have it filled with old clothes pins....It sits in an old blue/white granite pan.... The red iron is also a coal one...
I found this shade many years ago at a country shop I worked at...I know it's not laundry looking...But just loved what it says on the front of it...Can you see it ? It says God Bless our Home...

I love my soap boxes...and you know why after all these years there still full never been opened...It's very hard to find ones that aren't empty....
You see the "Bon Ami" bar soap...well years ago that's what you would clean mirrors , windows, and Chrome with...You would get it wet and rub it on with a rag waited until it dried and wipe it off...I remember as a kid my mama using it....Took forever...so glad we have Windex now ha ha!!

This old wringer sits on top of my dryer...love it I still have the original box for it....This iron is a stove top iron...years ago you would have a t least 2 of these...while you were using one the other would be getting heated on the stove....
What did you do with those Wet boots year ago...well you hunged them up to dry....
I use this to hang my clothes hangers on.....I hope you enjoyed my sneak peek today of my olden stuff in my dreaded room...I love all this olden stuff...But sure am glad all I have to do is push a button to do my laundry ha ha!! Now if only I could find a machine to fold and put away the clothes afterwards....

Neat, Gloria! Loved seeing your treasures. It's always an education when you show us some of your interesting finds. I learn more from your antiques than anyone's I know. Thanks for sharing!
XO,

I just love all your vintage and antique laundry collectibles. The soap boxes are great and to think they are still unopened with the contents inside!
Love the boot dryer, the old rug beaters and the scrub boards, love it all.
Great post.

Sissie
OH GIRL! If you find something that folds it and hauls it up the stairs - PLEASE - let me know.
Can you imagine having to move all the furniture, and lug all the carpets outside, throw them over something and then beat them to death?
Thank you Mr. Hoover.
:) Loved this!
Hope you are feeling better and better!
Big hugs! Karen
Everything is so amazing it almost (almost) makes doing the wash fun! Think I need that feather duster though... Have a happy day!

Gloria, I just love your laundry room with your wonderful vintage collectibles. I have my laundry room on my to do list. It is awful and too dark. I have to brighten it up so I will maybe enjoy doing laundry a little more.
Gloria, I just love all the wonderful antiques in your laundry room. Who wouldn't want to do laundry in there? Your wall colour is very close to what I have in my living room. Nice post!

Sandi

Haha! I just laughed out loud at the pot at the end of the rainbow. Too funny. What cool old stuff. Whew! Glad I didn't recognize most of it. Oh, my! I can't imagine cleaning windows like your mom used to. Shoot, I'm lucky to get the windex out once in a blue moon. I never knew there were coal and gas irons. I knew about the stove ones, but not the others. I don't think I'd want coal or gas near my clothes. As always, Gloria, this was a fun post. I hope you and Len are feeling much better these days! Enjoy your week.
I love it all...I would love a child's ironing board...I mentioned that in my LR post. I have my childhood toy iron....wouldn't that be cute?

G'eve Gloria ~ Fabulous treasures! I do remember well beating G'ma Maggie's rungs on that old clothes line every spring & fall ... yucky job! And we also used that old scrub board to do clothes on ... not fun. We kids had a darling ironing board, similar to yours ... GOSH! memories are flooding, sweet lady.
Love your vingettes! & moments to recall ...
Have a lovely 4th!

Hi Gloria!
You always have the coolest stuff! that railroad clock is beyond awesome! I love it! And all the other vintage pieces you showed us are jsut wonderful. love the rug beaters!
Have a great day!
So glad you came to visit today and mentioned your laundry room redo....you have some fine antiques and collectibles. Not only were the old irons hot and dangerous...the clothing, especially, women's had to have been difficult to iron, aren't we lucky! I like the look of the wallpaper, in photos anyway, it looks just like the real thing.
I am so glad I was able to visit you tonight and catch up on some of your post.
Been laid up on my back for two months so have not visited too many sites.
Girl this has to be the neatest and coolest laundry room I have ever seen in my life.
How creative and lovely you have everything fixed and organized.
Wow just great
Hope your doing well
Love
Maggie
