~Let there be light~

I thought I would show you my Biggest lamp in my house....This is my French torch lamp and she's all bronze and stands 7 1/2 tall...I found this beauty about 3 years ago and just knew I would find a place for her.... She is from ca. 1850 and weights a ton...
Oh and in case your wondering they did use my "Body" for the mold ha ha!!

Just look at her face...is she not pretty...

Now this beauty does not have a name...I'm looking to name her do you have any suggestions...Please let me know...It's a shame to be so old and not have a name yet...
Now as this is one of my favorite lights in my house I'm linking this up to Laurie at " Bargain Hunting and chatting" Please pay her a visit....
I hope all of you have a GREAT weekend...
Until next time from my mountain to yours,
Hugs and Smiles Glria

Elizabeth to be.

I could tell right away that they used your body to copy for the light. I can't believe it is that tall. I would definitely be looking up to her. Not sure of a name for her. Maybe I will come up with one though.

Gloria, I'm so glad you linked this beauty to Favorite Things. She has always been one of my favorites too. For some reason (I don't know why), she looks like a "Laurie"! LOL! Thank you so much for linking her to Favorite Things. Have a fab weekend. love ya, laurie

P.S. How is LEN???

Gloria, what do you mean they didn't use your body as a model??? Of course they did!!!

I think her name ought to be something romantic. Annabelle. Yes, Annabelle. That sounds appropriately Victorian, and she is quite the belle!

XO,

Sheila :-)

Hi Gloria,
When I got a glimpse of this beauty just had to stop by for a closer look!! How beautiful!
I have to agree with Shannon she does look like an Elizabeth in fact she resembles a dear late friend of mine by that name...

Hope all is going well in your life!

Take care,
Sherri:)

Of course they used your body for the mold...I could tell that right away!

She's a beaut and she looks like she weighs a ton. I don't know why, but the name "Magnolia" came to mind.

Nancy

What a lovely lady! And I do think they used your figure for the mold. For the name? hmmm.
Let me think.
I vote for Annabelle too!
How about Annabelle Rose.

Hi Gloria!
Hope you are doing well ... things are good here, could be better but that's usually true! :-P

LOVE your Lady With The Lamp. She's a beauty. And OF COURSE she is modeled after you, although I AM surprised that you were around to pose for the artist in 1850. You look mighty good for being 160 years old! Hee hee.

Love you!
Cass

I have a good name for her, Gloria.

I used to have a student named, Luz, and she was a delight. "Luz"--it's Spanish for "light."

Hi sweet Sis...

Girl, you know that I just adore your antique french torch lamp! I remember when you got her...we were doing RMS at the time! I also remember all the ooohing and aaahing that I did! Hehe! She sure is a beauty...so magnificent! And...I think you found the perfect place for her in your gorgeous home!!! Well now...since the lady is french...I think she should be named Charisse (french derivitive for "beloved"!)...after moi! Hehe! Plus I see the resemblence...don't you? LOL!!!

Well sweet girl, I read your note and I'm just now getting time to come by for a visit! So did ya'll stay the entire week in Reno? You were gone longer than I had expected! (Hehe...sound like an old jealous woman...don't I?) It sounds like you had quite the time with family once again! Shoot! How did Lenny's appt. go? I sure hope that all went well!!! Soooo Darlin'...what are you up to this week? I am still runnin' like a chicken with its head cut off! I have sooo much that I want to do before Cindy and my sister get here. You know how that is! I probably won't get much blogging done this week! Although I would love to get some photos of some of my projects...we'll see! Russell is back to work today...I'll be able to get a little more done! Hehe! I sure enjoy my time with him though! Well sweet Sis...just wanted to come by to say hello and see how ya'll were doing! Thinking about you, Sis...

Love ya,
Chari
