~ Bench Time~

WARNING: This post is not for the weak of heart...Please do not send out the clutter cops after me.I wanted to show you my window bench in my Dining room...Now remember I had this room added on in 1996 and I knew I wanted to have a place to sit drink my morning coffee and be able to look outside and see the deer each day...Now everyone knows my love of all things Victorian...and Victorian would not be complete without Fretwork...
I found this piece in 1994 when Wally and I took our plane out Antique hunting one weekend in NebraskaI just loved it because of the heart shape of it...Now mind you at that time our plane was already packed to the mack...But I threaten not to cook for a week batted my sweet brown eyes at Wally and he let me have it ha ha!! Anyway I had no place to put it..But just knew one day I would have my window bench and put it above it...
These are a few of my Victorian prints hanging also above my bench...These are from ca.1880 still in the original frames...This is a Gasoliers ca. 1900 that we got one weekend in Oregon...the shades we got in California...there called feather quillMy Rocker High chair sits by my bench...And of course I had the bench made for storage...
My Victorian table and gone with the wind lamp and a silver tea set... on each side of the alcove I had these built cabinet's put right between the studs so I could put my mustache cups collections..Well guys I hope I didn't bore you to death again with my love of Antiques...Like I have said I know my kind of thing is not for everyone...But there is just something about antiques that call my name..Love them
Until next time from my mountain to yours
Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria

Gloria,
Let me be the first to say that you can NEVER bore me to death with your antiques!!

They are spectacular!

You took my breath away (again!) with that piece of fretwork and your sweet window bench!! I can just imagine sitting there in the morning ( and all day for that matter) with a cup of coffee , gazing outside!!

I love everything...your pictures, your wallpaper, that gorgeous lamp!!! You do not know how much I would LOVE to see your home in person because even though your photos are wonderful, I know that in person, it has to be pure magic!

You know I am another Victorian Heart and you just made this Victorian heart sing!!!

Hope you are feeling better, dear friend!!

Hugs,
Debbie

I can picture myself having tea with you. I know exactly where I would be sitting too. I am hoping to get a bench made by our window similar to yours. (I think I will try the batting of the eyes to hubby like you did and see if it works)lol/ I got the brown eyes too.

I can only imagine all the goodies that you have stored in that pretty little bench! wink! Anyway, I have always loved how ya'll had the shelving/display cabinets built right into the walls...I think that is the grandest idea ever! And...so very pretty...to be able to display all of your fabulous cups there!!! I also really like how your beautiful vignette that you did on the window ledge behind the bench...soooo pretty, Sis! You have so many pretties...like I've said before...I could spend months and months just going through all of your collections, etc! Love, love, LOVE that gorgeous chandelier lamp...those have got to be the prettiest globes! Ohhh...and your pretty floral and lace valance in that window is fabulous!!! Did you make it? Well Sis...I sure had fun with this little tour around your window bench...loved the pretty art work and that beautiful table and rocker high chair too! How are you feeling? I've been away several days and haven't had a chance to read back yet.

I still say that you have more antiques (and certainly nicer ones) than most shops. You could charge admission to your "museum" of beautiful things. I can just picture you sitting on the bench and watching the deer.

Your room reminds me of some of those old movies I love to watch. The ones with Judy Garland, large families, and Victorian homes. You cannot go wrong with a window seat and such lovelies inside. I wish I could visit your home in person. It is like a Victorian museum but very cozy. So much to look at...
