~QUIET EVENING~

Hello guys!!! Well it's that time again where we get to play with our dishes with Susan at " Between Naps on the Porch" Be sure and go see all the others playing today...

Tonight we are having a quiet dinner for one and a new book to read...

Please sit down on my Antique bench and enjoy...

Chari at " Happy To Design" had this book for her one year anniversary as a give away...just knew I had to have it and also knew I would not win...Melissa at " Heart and Home" won... boo hoo...like she who is the worlds greatest decorator needs a book on decorating...Boy it some times sucks to be me....Any hoo I ordered this right away from Amazon so there Chari and Melissa....ha ha!!!

Its another one that is chalked full of wonderful decorating ideas...I give it 5 stars for sure oh!! wait this isn't RMS so I give it a 10...Ooooh I just love the bust there...

Now I don't know about you but I love looking at all the pictures close up...

This silver ware I got from Second Sunday 2 weeks ago its called "Community" from Rogers and sons...I got an 8 piece set of it plus the serving pieces....

Added a crystal candle holder, a crystal sherry decanter, little crystal stem ware glass and my little glass swan flower holder with some blue flowers....My oldest daughter Barbra got this for me when she was 16 WOW!! and now she's almost 50...

One of my little crystal swan salt cellar's and a little salt spoon I also got from Second Sunday about 3 months ago...
China was my Grand Mothers...I have a service for 12 of this....

Napkins were from my Hospice trip last month and Silver napkins ring also from Second Sunday this month I got 9 of them...For are you ready for this $10.00....

Swan's eye view....

Look!! after reading the book I added one of my bust next to the table....Chari also has this same bust...so I guess between us we are 2 Busty Gals...ha ha!!!

Now guys you had to suffer through all of that just so I could show you my latest find....This wonderful Tole hand painted tray...Is it not a beauty....it's so big everything you seen I had sitting on it...I had wanted one of these for so long...but every time I found one it is way out of my SS check budget....Well this one costed me $25.00 tell me I wasn't doing my Happy Dance...

Now do I have your attention Yet ? I am having my 1 year anniversary in 3 weeks and I have been real busy for over 2 months buying stuff for this special day !!! So in honor of my first year...I thought I would tease you like Lynne at " Lynne's Gifts from the Heart " does and start showing you just a sneak preview of what's coming...I know Lynne I'm a copy cat...but girl you know you love me more than your luggage... RIGHT!!

Be sure and go see Susan and I hope all of you have a great day...Thanks for the visit today...it does mean the world to me when you come by....

Hugs and Smiles Glria

Oh, Gloria! I got so excited about your beautiful post, I forgot to answer you question. I found those dishes at Marshalls right before Hurrican Ike hit us. After the store got back up - they didn't have any more! I even searched out some more Marshalls and couldn't find them. Maybe they're discontinued. I don't know! I should have bought more pieces at first. Shoot!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Gracious me! I am sooooo behind on my blog visiting and I can see I have quite a bit of catching up to do here.

Your posts are always just so crammed full of great info, as well as photos to study and admire. That book looks amazing. I might have to check that out because I could use some help with accessorizing myself. Your grandma's china is so beautiful! It has all my favorite pastel colors. :)

Gloria you are always such a riot to read- I never know what I'll find when I come over for a visit! I wish I was one of the busty gals-never have been :(!

I am in love with tole trays- only have 5 because they are so pricey- yours is certainly a keeper!!

What a pretty little setting and that settee- to die for friend!! You also gave me the yearning for that great book- will have to see if I can find one with one of my second hand book shops I buy from! keeping fingers crossed!

Thanks for the suggestion to teastain the music sheet around candle- it is old and somewhat yellowed but I do think it could use a little help! Also am looking for my twine to replace the bit of lace.

I think those are sugar cubes for my tea party you may be giving away!

I'm so glad that you got your book and that you're enjoying it!!! It's a good one, isn't it? I really like it because most of the design books are great for the pictures but this one has all the "how to's"!

Girl, I'm lovin' your tole tray...it's gorgeous and I love the size of it! Oooh...your grandmother's china looks fabulous on it...that pretty white against the black and a meshing of all the pretty roses!!! You did GOOD, Girlfriend!!! You find so many great things at your Second Sunday Sway...love those beautiful silver napkin rings!!! That's one thing I've been keeping my eye out for too! Especially since I use alot of silver in my tablescapes. Anyway, you certainly created one fabulous tablescaping vignette on that beautiful tole tray...love it!

Thanks for the sweet "mentions" in your post today, Sis!!! You're the best!!! Ohh...and I'm so excited for you and your upcoming blogaversary!!! Hmmm...are those pretty decorated sugar cubes? Whatever they are...they sure are pretty and dainty!!!

Love ya, Sis!

Hi Gloria!!

Sorry I am so late!! I love your tole tray, so glad you finally got one at a good price. Dream fulfilled!! And it is set so nicely for a dinner alone. The book looks fantastic. I love to read while I eat alone, but I guess that is not a book to read so much as a picture book!! lol!! Is it good?? I just bought a Nells Hill book and haven't had a chance to open it!!

Anyway, I love everything on the tray. Your Barbara had great taste at the young age of 16. What a doll she is! And I really like the salt cellar and tiny spoon~so elegant...

I hope you have a fab weekend, Gloria! :-)
