~IT"S NOT GRAND- BUT IT"S MY ENTRY~

Today is Chari at "Happy to Design" do over day...didn't you love that in school?? Please go by and see our sweet hostess to see all the others doing a do over today....

This is from April 21, 2009

Hello !! Guys, Now today I thought I would show you some random Pictures of my entryway...its not grand by any means...Also its completely round.... Remember I told you from the outside of my house this looks like a barn silo...of course you do ha ha!! Any way this is what you see if you walk into my front door... Now if you make a right turn you will see this window and Chandy at the end of the hallway I made this window like 30 years ago in stain glass class its acid etch...and down below are the doors going into my bedroom...

If you turn left you will end up in my living room...Now these are old Bridge supports on each side of the door way...this is the right side...this way also goes into my laundry room, kitchen, dinning room, office and sunroom....

And here's the left side...

Now this is just a shot to show you the around ceiling going into my hallway and bedroom...

This is at the end of the hallway...

This shot I took coming down the stairs... This was not an easy task to put square doors in a round wall...

Now you can see by the baseboards how round it is....This also shows you how my hallway starts..

Right side of door..looking down from stairs...

Now these pictures of my yard longs are not hung crooked...remember this is a round wall...even the wall paper border looks crooked but trust me its not...

Just a shot of the bottom of the stairs...I know some one you are probably fainting looking at this Rose carpet...But I do love this color and its always goes so well with my antiques..ha ha!!

Now this is the top of the stairs leading into the guest room and bath...This room has no door on it...I know it sound weird...but will tell you this room sits so far back that we didn't want to enclose it with a door as soon as you walked up the stairs and BAM!! a door right in your face...This Landing is very wide...as you can see I have an old spinning wheel even sitting there...

This is a shot of the very top of ceiling..its 3 stories high...so remember the Cob web rule here...Hey if I can't reach it...its don't get clean...My Wally use to tell people that our home was clean up to 5'1 because that's all Gloria could see...Ha ha!! Now I hope I didn't put you all to sleep today with my entry...May all of you have a great day...I should go clean cob webs...No I don't think so...all critters need a place to live ha ha!!

Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria

Hi Sis...

Ohhh...I'm so happy to have you join in with Sunday Favorites this week, Darlin'! What a treat!!! And what a treat to see your fabulous round entry or foyer! Sis, you are sooo wrong...this entry IS GRAND!!! I just love the circular shape and the height...OMG...love it!!! I sure would like to know how they did the floor mouldings on that circular wall? Are the moulding pre-made for something like this or did the carpenters have to shape them somehow? I've just never seen anything like it! It's awesome! I'm in love with your big ol' oak hall tree...and you have it decorated so beautifully! Ohhh girlfriend, I love your crystal chandelier too...it sure does sparkle with the lights!!! Now, the room where the TV is...that's not your living room is it? Is it a family room? Just curious...and trying to get my bearings at your place! Never know when I might need to know my way around there...hehe!

Well Sis...so happy to have you for Sunday Favorites and I really enjoyed seeing this fabulous foyer again!!! Your home is soooo beautiful!!!

Love ya,
Chari

I really like the concept of a round hallway, but I can see where it could be difficult to decorate. But it is beautiful...let's see, the spinning wheel, the old phonograph, the stain glass window...oh, I forgot, I was doing a bit of shopping...my bad!!!

I love the anique purses hanging in the entry. So, is your house really round? Do you have pictures of the outside posted here? I can't imagine how hard it would be to decorate, but you've done a lovely job. Thanks for your comments and for visiting me!

Hey what is all this Sis stuff??? Is Chari your sister? At one point she calls you girlfriend so I am not sure if you are just buddies or actual sisters.

Gloria, sorry it's taken so long to get over here. "major" computer problems.. hopefully, they are fixed now. I love, love, love your Grand Entry. I love the circular walls and the grand staircase. I might even feel like a queen walking down those stairs. The crystal chandelier stole my heart. I'm looking for one on a "small" budget for the toile room. I think it needs a bit more bling. What do you think? ) Need to go and play with my Bailey.. miss ya girl..love and hugs ~lynne~

What a gorgeous entryway! Wow -- Such beautiful detail, both in its actual "bones" and construction, and in how beautifully you have decorated it. Wonderful.

And i LIKE the rose colored runner on the stairs. In fact, I'd be tempted to bump down on my butt all the way to the bottom, just cause that carpet looks so nice and soft and cushy. Just like my tushy.

Have a grand Sunday!

Oh My Precious Gloria,
Your home is so grand. What are you talking about. It is breath taking. That entryway is so beautiful, and I love the staircase and the doors. Oh My I love it. That quilt is so gorgeous that you have draped over the stairwell. It looks just like coming home. I so love it.

Now that oak hall tree is tremendous. I love every little detail on it. The color is just perfect for that entryway with your doors. I so love it.

Now I was just wondering where you have the butler hidden. I didn't see him at the door. Now what closet have you stuffed him in?

I love you sweetie. Thanks for sharing this beautiful Sunday morning.

I will be heading home Sept. 30th. I will be out of touch during that time. I will find a way to keep you posted. It may be through my daughter Heidi @ Fairy Footprints in the Sand. Make sure you go and visit her and sign up to follow her. She will keep you updated while I am gone. She will have Amy updates for all.

Talk to you soon. Country hugs sweetie, and thanks for sharing. Love Ya, Sherry
