~Photo L♥ve~

Hello guys, did I ever tell you I l♥ve old photo albums...Well I do and when I find them in good condition I have to have them...It's just another thing that screams my name lol!!

I have been collecting them now for over 30 years...and I don't care if they have pictures in them or not..I just buy old photos for them
This is a leather album and I love the sweet pansy"s on the front of it...
This album is ca. 1880
I have it full of photos I have bought through the years...
This sits on my coffee table this week ha ha!!
An ostrich egg under a cloche sits next to it...This egg came from my own ostrich..as I had an ostrich and Emu farm at one time.
One of my antique french clock also added to the table...

This album I have in my dining room...and it's one of my favorites...I love the tin heart mirror on the front of it...
The inside of it...again I added all the photos to it...
But the best part of this album is that in the back it fold down and make a little writing desk with an ink well and a place to put photos until you date them etc.
This is the only album like this one I have found so far...It's faded green velvet and the inside is all leather..can you say Love...I also have a musical Antique photo album,Christmas and many more...last count was 15.
And I am sure these photos were taken with cameras like these...
Oh yes !! yet another collection for another day to share...
I am joining Marty at " A Stroll Thru Life"  for table top Tuesday...Thanks Marty...

Thanks for coming by and seeing what's Old up on my mountain...

Until next time.
Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria

Gloria that's why we're sistah friends *winks* Cuz we loves our stuffs!! I'll do the ironstone again just for you. I had to stop collecting it because I totally ran out of space! Alas I don't have a 3000 sq ft barn lol! But if I did I'd fill er up!*winks*

I really do miss having my best shopping buddy. Cousin D worked as a waitress and her restaurant went out of business. She tried to find another job, but no luck. So she sold all her stuff and moved to Pennsylvania to live with her mother. Not a happy story. So I drag my poor hubbs around with me when I can. How bout you? Does Len like to antiquercise? Vanna

Gloria thanks for stopping by... yes, the Hot Rods + Shopping made for a delightful day at the Street Fair!

Love your Photo Album collection and the 'store bought ancenstors' that fill them. *winks* I often wonder how anyone could get rid of photos of their relatives? We pass ours down in the Family but wouldn't think of getting rid of them. I love to imagine the stories that go with the interesting old photos.

Great collection, Gloria. You really have the neatest collection. I think I'm gonna steal your idea of the egg in a cloche for Marty's party. I made sure I couldn't eat the cupcakes cause my daughter just visited and all we did was eat, lol...Christine

Gloria your albums are beautiful. I am so happy you collect them. It is sad to see old photos and albums languish away in shops and basement cartons.

You have such interesting things. I have seen these types of albums, but I don't own any. They are beautiful and in such great condition. The old photos would drive me crazy. I have to know who they are, when and where it was taken...I would want to know the story behind each one.

You have the most awesome things. When I see these old photo's in a shop, I always feel sad that someone's family pictures have been lost to them. I am so thankful I have my families original photos. :D

Hi Sis...

Oooh...I just loved this post that you did!!! You know how I love your antique photo albums! Sis, I have my beautiful album that you gifted me with...front and center on the desk in my frenchy studio! Every time I see it...I think of you and our sweet friendship, Darlin'!!! Ohhh my gosh...the antique album with the fold down desk is fabulous! I know that I have never seen one like it...it really is unique! I love the soft green velvet cover and ohhh...the leather pages...I'm swooning!!! Thanks for sharing it with us! I love how you decorated your coffee table using that pretty album and your ostrich egg under the cloche! Sooo pretty, Sis! Love that pretty table runner too! Yes...it is looking "springy" at your place...like a breath of fresh air! You know, I think this is the first time that I realized that your pretty opera glasses have the inlaid mother-of-pearl...ooooh!!! I really enjoyed getting a peek at your old cameras too! Ohhh...they are fabulous!!!

Sis, I have to tell you what Russell just found while digging around in his Dad's basement(our rental house). He found an antique bath water thermometer. I have never seen or even heard of one before! Hehe! It's all in cased in wood. In the center of the wooden frame it has a little chart enclosed in glass that tells if your bath water is too cold, lukewarm, or just right...etc. Of course, the bottom part is actually a thermometer to measure the temp! On one side of this thing..it has the advertisement for an old pharmacy. So I'm pretty sure that they gave these things out to advertise, etc. Anyway...it's just the coolest thing! Have you ever heard of anything like it? I'll have to take some photos and get them sent to you! Anyway...just wondered if you had ever seen one?

Well Sis...we are getting more snow today! I needed to go grocery shopping but decided to stay home. I'm going to wait till it warms up! Crazy weather...I'm sooo ready for spring! And...so are all of my old bones and muscles! Hehe! I hope that my note is finding you well today, sweet Sis! I'll talk with you later...

Love ya,
Chari

I love all of your collections and I'm telling you, I could spend hours and hours looking through those photo albums. I've never seen one like the green velvet one with the ink well, how gorgeous it is!! I bought a small vintage postcard album on eBay before Christmas, it's red suede and has Christmas and 1906 written on it. Inside it's filled with Christmas postcards from that era. I just love it:-) xoxo

Gloria,
Lovely vintage photo albums! Many times I see old photos in Antique Malls and Flea Markets and I've been sad to think that family members didn't keep these photos. I will no longer be sad. I am thrilled that you fill these albums with antique photos! Inspirational post today, thank you. Thank you, also, for your sweet comment and visit today! Stop by again soon.
Fondly,
Pat

Gloria, I love the old photo albums, too. Don't you just love to look at them and wonder how/why they end up in a store and why no one in the family wanted them. I think it's fascinating seeing how they dressed an imagining what their life was like. Thanks for sharing these! I love the green velvet one with the heart. :)
