~Paula verse's Maxine~

Paula says: To keep potatoes from budding,
place an apple in the bag with the potatoes.

Maxine says :
Buy Smash mashed potato mix.
Keeps in the cupboard for up to a year.

Paula Says:
When a cake recipe calls for flouring the baking tin, use a bit of dry cake
mix instead and there won't be any
white mess on the outside of the cake.
Maxine says:
Go to the bakery!

Hell, they'll even decorate it for you!

Paula says:
Wrap celery in aluminum foil when putting
in the refrigerator and it will keep for weeks.
Maxine says:
Celery?
Never heard of it!

Paula says:
Cure for headaches: take a lime, cut it in half and
rub it on your forehead. The throbbing will go away.

Maxine says:

Take a lime, mix it with tequila,
chill and drink! All your pains go away

Paula says:
Don't throw out all that leftover wine.
Freeze into ice cubes for future use
in casseroles and sauces...

Maxine says:
Left over wine???

I just love it when I get to have one of my babies home...She called me this morning and asked me if I was going to bake her a cake...HELLO!!! this is your mama your talking too..This is the same daughter that while in grade school would tell me at 9pm on her way to bed..Oh Mom I told my teacher you would bake 40 cupcakes for the class party tomorrow!! Or would tell me Mom I signed you up to go to the zoo with 40 kids, Mom I signed you up to make 8 block letters for the cheerleaders we need them by Friday and it's Wednesday!! Or Mom your having a baby shower this Saturday for my teacher!! And now she wants a cake?? She'll get Twinkies and coffee ha ha!!
Wish me luck girls!! This is my daughter that came out swinging a purse and chewing gum and wanted to know who the boss was around here ha ha!! But at least I can get all this stuff out of my sun room that I"m been stacking up for her..Oh yes she shops my house when she comes, She goes from room to room and tells me what I don't need and what would look great at her house...Hope you all have a GREAT weekend...

Hi Sis...

Girl, I would love to meet your Dawna! You know what would be a hoot...getting your daughter Dawna and my Jenni together! I think they were made of the same mold! Hehe! Well...you girls have fun this weekend! I know you will!!! Hehe...twinkies!!! I love it, Sis!!! I just got a note from my Jenni...says that she is going to try and make it up here soon! I sure hope so...I would love to see her and the grands!!!

My weekend will be busy too but not as fun as yours. I don't think I told you but our renters moved out last week. So now we have the joy of getting the house ready to rent again. YUK! This means finally cleaning out the basement over there. Our last renters moved into the house before we could get the basement cleared out. Girl, all of Russ' folks, grandparents, and even great-grandparents things are down there! It will be interesting! Hehe! Anyway...just wanted to pop over to say hello and that I love ya!!!

Loved this post! I love Paula Deen but must admit that "my ways" resemble Maxine's more! Hehe!

Love ya, honey!

Hi Gloria,

Lovely post and many thanks for visiting me.
Sounds like our son used to do things like that asking for string and scissors on the ferry to finish the project he was working on. Kids!

Mornin' Sis...

Just thought I'd stop in with my morning cup of coffee! How did your weekend go with Dawna? Bet ya'll had a great time! Not too much going on here. I'm feeling yucky! Was supposed to go in for a general checkup today at the Drs. but I am going to cancel because I'm not up to going...that's pretty bad, huh? Hehe! I'm just having a fibro flare but I know that it will pass. Say a prayer for me, Sis!

Sooo what are you up to this week? Anything exciting going on? Just wanted to stop in and say good morning and that I love ya, Sis!

Have a great day, dear friend!
Love ya,
Chari
