~Victorian Dresser turned Sink~

Hello Guys, I hope you all had a GREAT day..
I have been redoing the top my Victorian Dresser turned sink..I bought this olden dresser in 1998 just for the purpose of making it into a sink for the Hers bathroom...dresser ca. 1910 quarter sawn oak...
I love the way it turned out...Now the first 2 drawers are no longer in use, as the carpenter had to cut the back out in the dresser so the plumbing pipes has a place to go..So he glued the drawers front on...The bottom drawer is still a good size for all my towels ...

I love my sweet little cherub lamp...
The lamp shade is called a small tulip and I made it..the fabric is backcloth from the 40's it was a drapery panel..
The bead trim is pearls..Now I can't remember who asked me about the beads I use for my lamps..they all come pre-strung and are $1.10 per inch..The large tulip shades I made are 80 inches around so the beads alone cost me $88.00

My Victorian Hair brush and mirror sit on the left side of the sink dresser..

Victorian calling card holder I use to hold my hand towel..
My wall lamps were gas but have been converted just for this bathroom..the shades are from ca.1860 this is the one on the right side of dresser...
I have one on each side of the dresser..
This is a drapery holder ..I could not find a towel holder that I liked so I use this holder instead ha ha!!
The soap dispenser and tissue holder my mama made for me about 20 years ago..

The left wall scones
And of course nothing in my home would be complete without a Bust on it ha ha!! I love me girls..
I'm joining Marty today for TTT ...Thanks Marty
And Kim for WUW...Thanks Kim..
Please go by and see each of these great gals...
Until next time from my mountain to yours,
Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria

How are you? I hope you had a nice Valentine's Day...maybe a little chocolate something?

I have a very similar dresser. We bought it at an auction before we got married. I never thought about making a sink out of it, but I do love the look. Your home is so unique. I still think you could charge admission and take tours!

I have a friend who restores old victorian lamp frames, so I know how labor intensive it is. Yours is beautiful as is your entire bath. Bet you never want to come out...huh?

Hi GLoria:
Love your sink, have thought about doing that for awhile...so brave to change up a quarter sawn dresser. But so beautiful! Did you treat it with Spar varnish? To waterproof it? As usual, a perfect room!

Gloria, being in your home must be like stepping back in time. I wonder if any of the owners of that furniture ever follow it! :) You just may have guests galore and never know it. (Matter of fact, I KNOW you do!)
The dresser you have had fashion into a vanity for your sink is just beautiful! I have see that done before but yours is gorgeous!

Love you, hon..

Hi Sis...

Ohhh my gosh...I just swoon at this fabulous "Hers" bath!!! I don't know if you know it...but...it was this fabulous vanity sink that inspired me to get the vanity sink that I put in my master bath when we redid it...of course, it is nothing compared to this gorgeous antique dresser that you have but I love it all the same! Hehe! I love, love, LOVE how you turned this pretty sawn oak dresser into your vanity sink! It's truly magnificent, Sis! I was wondering if the dresser drawers were still useable...you answered that question. I bet that bottom drawer makes the perfect storage for your bath towels, etc.! Ohhh...and your gas sconces made electric...sooo beautiful...I love those! Honey, you really DO have the MOST FABULOUS home!!! You have truly created yourself a home that looks like it's been made in heaven!!!

Well Sis...I just love how you decorated your beautiful vanity...soooo very sweet...each and every beautiful item! Girl, I just can't get over these gorgeous Victorian lampshades that you make...what an art! Ohhh...and I love all the pretty pearl beads that you used on this shade...my favorite! WOW..$88 just in pearl beads...but they are magnificent!!! Love your antique silver mirror and brush set...so pretty! Girlfriend, I love this idea of yours...to use that pretty name card holder to hold your hand towel...love that! And I also love how you used the drape holder for your towel...such great ideas!!! Loved getting to see your beautiful soap and tissue dispensers that your dear mama made for you! Did she do alot of ceramics? My mama used to be into all of that as well...in fact, I did some as well and always really enjoyed it!

Anyway, thank you sooo much for sharing your fabulous "Hers" bath, Sis! This has been a real treat!!! Now, I am taking that this bath is your master bath...for your bedroom? I assumed anyway!

How are you doing, Darlin'? I hope that you and Lenny had a wonderful Valentine's day! I thought about you...when I was shopping at the antique mall! Hehe! I seen a few things that you would have liked! I'll have to take you there in June! I got all kinds of goodies this past weekend...I made off like a bandit! That honey of mine...sure does spoil me! We had a great weekend! I hated to come home! Ohhh..and the weather was just beautiful...in the 60's...can you believe that? It's mid 60's today here at home and I have the doors and windows open. Sooo funny...it feels like summer here! I know it's not really that warm but after having zero temps...sure feels like a heat wave! Hehe! Well sweet Sis...hope that my note is finding you well! Can't wait till June!

Love ya, Sis!

Gloria,

That dresser turned sink/vanity is beautiful! I love how it turned out. I love all your old tabletop accessories. I hadn't seen a calling card holder, that is neat. The drapery tieback makes a good towel holder. Just beautiful.
