~My Victorian Boudoir~

Step into my Boudoir:

Please turn on my Tiffany wall lamp and lets take a little tour...
As many of you that come by here know..My home started with a one room cabin 350 sq foot and I did live in that square footage for 2 years while we were adding on (click here to see) ..In 1988 we added a Living room and bedroom, then took the cabin and made it all kitchen..Then in 1996 we added on a formal dining room..This master suite was added in 1999 and the one thing I had to have was a sitting room where I could watch my own TV shows and just have some quiet time to read..Now this suite is 1083 sq foot so it's rather large...Also has 2 full size baths...a his and hers..Now I also have about 3000 sq foot of stuff packed within these walls ha ha!!

This is my sitting area...
Faux fireplace with my TV on top...
Grab a cup of tea and a scone while your here
This tray sits on a JP.Coats and Clark spool cabinet ca. 1880
This settee sits at the foot of my bed...
Just love the sweet rose fabric on it...
One of my oldest pieces I own is this wine cabinet ca. 1780. On the bottom I have some of my collection of antique photo albums..

Chamber set is from England ca. 1880 and the lamp shade I made
I love my bed..the head board is 9 foot high and just look at the great craving in it...It's burl and walnut from the Rocco period ca. 1880
Bed spread is from the 20's and it came with the window valance that I used as sorta dressing on the wall with lace panels..
This is just a shot of the whole bed with settee...I have 2 Victorian lamp tables on each side of the bed with Bradley Hubbard lamps..Ca 1870..2 bubble frames from 1900 hang above each table...
This is a Victorian buffet but I use it for a dresser burl and walnut also from the Rocco period...This piece stand proudly at 6 foot tall..

My Victorian dresser...The antique National cash register I use as my jewelry box..I just hit the Five and Dime keys and it will open ha ha!! and that's about how much my jewelry that I keep in it is worth..2 of my "Gone with the wind" lamps sit on each side...These are called Ruby glass.
Thanks for coming by and stepping into my Boudoir...
I'm joining Sherry for her Brand  smacking new Friday party " Charms of Home" I guess I'm now a charted member ha ha!!
Also Courtney at " French country Cottage " for feather you nest...
Thank you both for letting me have a fun day girls..Please pay them both a visit to see some great stuff today...
PS: I have to tell you a funny story I posted this room on Rate My Space in 2008 and  one comment said my bedroom looked like a brothel and did I charge by the hour ha ha!! I loved it..Told them they couldn't afford my hourly rate..Why do people feel the need to be mean is beyond me..Now I know why I left Rate my space...I never thought my Bedroom looked like the Mustang Ranch ha ha!!

Until next time from my mountain to yours,
Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria

Hi Gloria! Oh, your bedroom is so gorgeous! I love your antique furnishings. Oh, covetness here! :) Those ruby glassed Gone With the Wind Lamps are so beautiful! I'm not showing these to Mr. Precious1 :)
Shame on whoever said mean things! I believe when folks do this - they're just jealous of what you have! If I knew who they were I'd go and punch 'em in the stomach! :)
You're a dear!

What an amazing home you have. I love that you use the cash register as a jewelry box! what an awesome idea, I have always wondered what would be a good way to use those. And I am totally envious of that spool cabinet,I hope to own one someday.

Thanks for stopping by, OMG this is just gorgeous, way to much to comment on everything, but the old spool storage and cash register are unbelievable. I would just live in this one room, full circle, like living in the little cabin.

I love your bedroom. It looks so cozy and comfortable! I just don't see the beauty in ultra modern decorating. It always feels so "cold". Your home looks as though it would feel very warm and inviting!

Mornin' Sis...

What a fabulous tour, Sis! Of course, you know how much I love your beautiful bedroom...everything you have in this gorgeous room is exquisite!!! You know, this was the first time that I realized that you had the tall ceilings in your bedroom! I knew your antique bed stood 9 ft. tall but I guess I just wasn't thinking (a problem that I often have...hehe!). OMG...Sis, your bedroom ensuite is larger than some peoples entire home or apt.! Seriously, I can't fathom a bedroom of this size....I have never seen a bedroom this size!!! Ohhh...I would love it though! I love that you can have a sitting room in your boudoir! Ohhh..and we won't even talk about the fact that you have two full baths as well! Hehe! It really is magnificent! And...I know I have said it a thousand times...but you have the most beautiful antique furniture that I've ever seen! Girl, I can't believe your bed...I would feel like a queen in that bed!!! Love, love, LOVE the antique buffet that you are using for your dresser! Is that marble that I'm seeing on the top? Ohhh...and I love that you are using one of your antique cash registers for a jewelry box...that is the coolest thing!!! Too cute!!! I just adore all of your settees, Sis...but I must admit that the pretty rose pattern on the settee at the end of your bed really is gorgeous!!! Ohhh Sis, I love your boudoir!!! Thanks for sharing it with us today...this was such a treat!

Well my dear, I'm trying to get a bag packed today. Russell surprised me with a weekend getaway! Guess we'll go visit the big city and stay over. Probably won't be home till Sunday evening. I'm sooo excited. I haven't been out of the house for awhile! Hehe! I'm such a recluse! I'll talk to you later, sweet Sis!

Love ya,
Chari

I think it's lovely. I can't believe someone would be so crass as to say something so disgusting. Sort of obvious that they knew nothing about the Victorian era...
Of course neither do I, but in very early homes this sort of decor was in many lovely old homes.

You have a fantastic collection of Victorian antiques!

Just beautiful, Gloria.
Love'n hugs,
Mona

Wow!! Thanks for letting us in to the "bedroom" lol... what a beautiful, romantic and relaxing room you've created. I love that you have a fireplace to sit on your beautiful sofa and lounge, watch T.V. and read. The antique cash register to hold your jewelry is priceless. I can remember people from the RMS days saying cruel things as well. It was so much fun in the beginning, except for those moments and when you couldn't get pictures to load. If nothing else they can't take the fun memories we have. I'll always remember my first cup of coffee I shared in your beautiful kitchen. Guess we'll get coffee and chocolates in the bedroom??? lol
I hope you have a super w/k. hugs ~lynne~
