~ SECOND SUNDAY HAPPINESS~

Oh Guys....what a great weekend I had....YAHOO!! I finally got to meet Dawn at a "Cottage State of Mind" don't you just love her blog name...We had been trying to meet up at the Second Sunday swap meet for 2 months....Oh girls I was so excited to meet her...Now of course on Saturday my first thought was how can I lose 20 years of wrinkles before I meet her ha ha!!! Her first thought was Why am I having a Bad bang day....any other day they fall right into place but not this day ha ha!!! It's so funny what goes through the minds of women...But you know first impressions and all...Now everyone knows how much I love going to this swap meet each month...but this was a very special day for me...Not only all the fun things they have there...but meeting Dawn was just PRICELESS to me.... Here's Dawn and me...And No I didn't lose the wrinkles ha ha!!!

And Dawn got so excited when she found this Red Tole hand painted tray for her cottage...I think her smile says it all...Of course I asked the lady at the booth "What her best price was" ha ha!! she got this tray for $25.00 and it's so Dawn....You see Dawn still to shy to try and bargain with these people...But I'm not ha ha!!! here I'm a pro at getting them down on the prices...

This is Dawn's Mama Grace and what a kick she was...Now this one was loving all this great stuff she found and she's a well seasoned shopper she didn't have a problem asking what their best offer was....I really enjoyed meeting this lady...Is she not pretty...Boy she was in her glory digging in boxes and looking under tables for treasurers to take home...But kept saying I wasn't going to buy anything...But she sure had that purse of her opened buying stuff ha ha!!!

Here's Dawn and her SIL Tracey...Now this one is furnshing a new home and found some of the most greatest chairs for her living room...Her Dad does upholstery and will redo them for her...She also was a kick to meet...always laughing and smiling....I think she had a great time at least they all said they would be back again...

Now this sweet Dawn did not come empty handed...Just look at all the goodies she brought me...I love the blue/white trivet I can hang it in my kitchen and always think about her each day...

These sweet Little gift tags...

A sweet little dinner bell...and you know what I have a tea cup to match this...Maybe a new Tablescape coming up...and look at the dainty little hankie with the pretty hand made lace on it...

Oh a sweet little picture frame....Love all the dainty flowers on this...I'm going to put Dawn's and mine's picture in this...

But hold everything...not only did she bring me goodies...but even brought this olden car gift tags for Len...can you believe that...Len was so touched by this...As she had them made for him...Now on Saturday someone hit a power pole up here on my Mountain top so all of a sudden I'm without power until 1;30 am...I was so excited when they got it up and running again...as you see my house is all electric including the hot water heater...so right away I'm thinking how can I take a shower even if they don't get it fixed at this point it was never mind losing the 20 years of wrinkle it was OMG I hope I don't stink ha ha!!! And how can I even curl my hair...OK I got a ball cap that will work...but the stinky part ha ha!!! Oh girls by the end of the day I felted like I have known this young woman all my life...I don't even think I looked at that many things as Dawn and I were so busy talking....Please if you have not met her do yourself a BIG favor she is just a wonderful young woman...And I so look forward to seeing her again at the swap meet...Now I'm also sorry I have not been able to get back to people today...As the power company came out to redo over head lines so we were without power again...Do they not know they cut off my lifeline when they do that ha ha!!! All day today as each room I went into I turned on the lights Duh !!!

May all of you have a Great day...and Now I need to go see what I have been missing in blog land...

Hugs and Smiles Glria

Thank you so much for coming by and seeing me...It does mean the world to me...

That tole tray was a great steal! I have to admit, I'm a little jealous. I just know it would be perfect in my house!

Yep, my first thought is always: does my hair look okay, chickee!!! It is funny what we think about sometimes. Where was this swap meet. Maybe when we're down in Calif. next time I'll try to find it.

Oh, girl, we mad a cute couple of bloggers, didn't we! My MIL always says she EARNED every single one of her wrinkls with 3 boys and she's proud of each one (the wrinkles, and the boys too I guess!). My bad bang day reminded me of the clerk at the store one morning saying she had "bang failure" that morning! Ha ha!

I wish I could remember what my mom was studying so hard in that photo. She and Tracy really did have a great time! And you spotted that great tray for me in the last row just before we left! Good eye!

How many times did we all bust out laughing like that? And how come none of the other shoppers were having as much fun?

Thank you for such a good time. Your Len is such a sweetie!
Oh, and congrats on winning all those shiny objects! I was by Mrs. Magpie's place right after you!
Hugs,
Dawn

I'm so glad you had a good time. I've met a couple people that I got to know on a writer's website. After the first few minutes it felt as if we'd known each other forever. It is fun when it works that way. Hope you keep the power on!

Gloria, I'm so glad you all got to meet and have such a great time! I love that tray that Dawn found - beautiful! And girl, you look fantastic! I think you must have sent those 20 lbs of wrinkles my way, I swear I didn't have that many before Sunday lol. Hope they get your power back soon. I do the same thing with the light switches when our power goes out - silly huh? Have a great day. Kathy

Mornin' Sis...

Ohhh no...see that you've been without your electricity on and off! Hope they got you all fixed up by now! Girl, sorry I haven't been by for a few days...I guess all this cold and snow has gotten me...I've been hurting! Haven't gotten a darn thing done but laying around!

How sweet that you got to meet Dawn and her family...she just looks like a real sweet gal! Looks like you girls had the best of times at the Sunday Swap! I know, I can hardly wait for April...and I promise not to worry about my wrinkles if you don't worry about yours! Hehe! No sense worrying...it just makes more wrinkles! Hehe! So did you buy anything good at Sunday Swap? I love Dawn's red tole tray...it's gorgeous and at just $25 a real bargain!!!

Sis, it looks like you've been a busy little bee...between Sunday Swap, wallpapering, and making lamps! Can't wait to see your laundry room...that beadboard paper is going to look fabulous! I'd love to try some...but I don't know if I have the energy! Hehe! Ohhh...and I just love the new lamps that you made for Melissa and Tootsie!!! Absolutely gorgeous...they're going to adore them!!! You're such a talented lady...they turned out sooo pretty! I think you hit the nail on the head with those pretty lamps too...I can just see those pretties in the girl's homes!!!

Well Darlin'...just coming by to say hello...was thinking about you! Hope that my note finds you well!!! Talk with you later!!!

Love ya, Sis!
Chari
PS...oops..wanted to say something about Len's walls...I just love those rock walls...they're so pretty!!! Girl, is Len doing okay? You mentioned him wearing a heart monitor? I'll be praying, Sweetie!!!

Great post! And what fun to meet Dawn. It's funny that right after you commented on my blog, Dawn was the next one to comment. Small world. Looks like you gals had fun. If I ever get up north I'll have to meet up with the 2 of you. But don't hold your breath. I need to lose about 100 lbs and 20 years of wrinkles. lol.

So glad you two great gals got to meet and share a wonderful day of shopping and laughing together. Amazing the many perks that blogging has...you actually get to meet some of the wonderful people out there in blogland! I hope to get up to Sac for that flea market some day soon...I'm only an hour away. Have a fantastic day!

God bless,
Mary

Ah, what a terrific day, Gloria! Dawn is a cutie and I LOVE the pictures of her with that huge smile on her face! And was it just my imagination, or was that bag she was carrying getting bigger as the day went along?

She brought you some wonderful goodies and how very sweet of her to think of Len too!

Justine :o )
