Any way 3 years ago she went to her daughter Candace's wedding...oh yes you heard me right again her daughter got married before she did...any way, we still don't know what happen to her that day...but all of a sudden she wanted to set a date and get "MARRIED" so off she and I go to get the dress, shoes and the million others things you have to do for a wedding...Now her and Donnie were only together for 17 years before they got married...So this was a very special day in our family...To finally see my little girl walk down the aisle and to see her 2 children be apart of this special day...
Dawna the night before the wedding...and I'm holding on to her to make sure she gets to the church on time ha ha!!
Dawna being Dawna...this is by far by silliest kid I have...This is the one that came out swinging a purse and chewing gum...
Candace setting up the tables...
YUMMY Candy Bar...
See the cake topper...That was my Grandma and Grandpa on their wedding day in 1916...

That was fun! I guess we have to accept that our kids aren't always going to do things "our" way! I love the fall wedding, and I've never seen anyone do the "candy bar" but I love it!
Happy Anniversary to the happy couple.

My brother and his fiance have been together 8 years. They announced their offical engagement, ring and all, over a year ago. No date set yet. I think we're in for a long wait too!
See you in few days!

Hi Gloria,
Loved reading the story and seeing the photos. How nice, what a great Fall wedding!
I so enjoy coming by your blog and seeing your antiques etc. Sorry been away, my son's wedding had me so busy. Now the next event will be grandbaby next year!
How is Northern CA? We are good, been a nice pretty Fall so far, only one week of rain lately and then it gets sunny and pretty in the day. I was out taking photos today because it was so good.
But next week will be an indoor time, suppose to rain again.
Sunny days are fading .
Take care of you, thanks for dropping in my blog sweetie!!

Oh Gloria what a wonderful story! They must be very much in love. It's so romantic!
Dawna looked beautiful. I love the fall theme wedding. The wedding gown and bridesmaid dresses were beautiful. I like the candy bar. I saw that on one of those wedding shows on the WE channel.
Happy Anniversary to the happy couple. Have a great day Gloria.
Happy Anniversary to Mom's Dream-Come-True!
We all have those wonderful dreams for our children and it must have been so heartwarming to see yours come true that day!
Many Blessings on them for years to come!
All the best,
Eileen
Happy Anniversary, Dawna! Oh, Gloria what a sweet sweet story. I love it! She looks a lot like her darling little mother, too! :) I wish them many many more happy years!
To answer you question, we're bad! I'm usually just playing at setting the table - sometimes it's real if we're having friends over. I fix our plates and we eat sitting in our chairs in the den! We're bad! :)
Be a sweetie,
shelia ;0
Wow~ great story. :) She looked stunning! Happy Anniversary!
P.S. I have gone a little dish crazy. I like your idea of hiding them under the bed...lol. I may have to do that. There is simply NO storage on this side of the mountain...lol.
Hugs to YOU!
Mornin' Sis...
Ahhh...sending my very best wishes and blessings to your dear sweet Dawna and hubby Donny on their anniversary! Loved seeing the wedding photos...your Dawna is gorgeous! Loved her dress!!! I especially enjoyed the photos of you, Sis...and your Dawna together! Sooooo sweet!!! Ohhh...the reception decor was soooo pretty...love all the pretty autumn!!!
Just read your note Sis...so happy to hear from you! I have been a busy little bee again...not spending as much time at the computer! Sheeeshhh, I'm a terrible multi-tasker...I'm lucky to get anything done at all! Hehe! I had been wanting to slip cover my dining room chairs for a more formal look. Well, I found the prettiest (already made) slip covers at our little local antique shop...only $12 ea. They're really pretty...an antique gold damask...nice heavy fabric! The gold was a perfect match to my chandelier shades above the table and my drapes in that room! Only problem was...they didn't fit! So I spent Tuesday ripping seams and re-sewing them! I'll have to take photos! Yesterday I spent the day in town...we are suppose to have snow today and snow all weekend! Eeekkks...can you believe that? It's way too early for snow...I'm so disappointed, I mean...our trees hadn't even completely turned their fall colors yet! Anyway, I don't plan on getting out in that snow so I was doing all my running while the weather was decent! Girl, it's only supposed to get up to 37 here today...and on Saturday it's only supposed to get up to 19 degrees! We finally built our first fire in our little wood stove last Monday...sounds like it'll really get a work out the next few days! Hehe! Was wondering how your laundry room project is going? Did you get your paper up? Well Darlin'...so happy to hear from you! I'm still here...just been busy! I'll talk with you later, Sis!!!
Love ya,
Chari
Oh best wishes to the happy couple! You are too funny, Gloria, with your picture hanging onto the bride, and that cartoon at the end!
13 years is a LONG time to be engaged. Howard and I decided after 6 weeks of dating to get engaged, and were married 10 months after our first date. 31 years later, it must have been the right decision!
What a fun post! Dawna was a gorgeous, glowing bride! I love weddings. Thanks for letting me share in your joy!

OMG Gloria,
I am still laughing my head off at that last crack! (no pun intended). What wonderful pics of your lovely daughters wedding and OMG your family looks like so much fun! A candy bar! How cool is that! This is one fun post, thanks for sharing my lovely friend. Hugs, Cindy
wow she is gorgeous! i think her love story is awesome. good things come to those who wait!
What a darling story! I wish them many more years of happiness.
Hi Gloria, What a lovely story and a lovelier bride. She sounds like a real sweetie and you sound so happy. I can't begin to express what the cake said to me... lol. I adore chocolate ! I am very happy for you with your family increasing and those darling little ones. They are so sweet.
What magic do you use to increase the size of your pictures ? I can do 400x400, and can't seem to get them larger. I'm talking to my computer, but that doesn't work, either.
Nice to talk to you from the other side of the mountain, too !
Does she always rush into things like this? Willy nilly and all. Rather rash. She hardly knows the guy.
Looks like my comment didn't make it to you. It was about the beauty of the wedding. You must be so proud of your family and your daughter looked so happy. What a nice family !
Your "little Ones" are growing and that was so nice to hear about all the surgeries and still a smile.
Think they get some of this for their grand mother ?
What else ? Oh yes, I was asking about your large pictures. I can't get mine to get past 400x400. How ??
I am on the other side of the mountain, aren't I ?
Stay happy !!!
What a beautiful post...and an even more beautiful bride! Great "love-story!" :) Hope that Donnie and Dawna had a wonderful anniversary...and many, many more! ~hugs, Rhonda :)
Oh, and the "fall decorations" for the wedding were gorgeous!
You deserved that kind of happiness in life. Both of you were blessed to have a happy endings. Hoping for more cheerfulness in your journeyin life.
