♥ NO GUEST ALLOWED YET ♥

Hello Guys...I bet you thought I got losted...Well I told you I have been busy tearing off wall paper border in my guest room...and then I had to repaint and try and get the room in some kind of order again...I just love wall paper until I have to tear it down...what a job!!
I am just showing you a small part of this room that I have gotten done so far...This is an attic bedroom and bathroom...This is a vintage wedding dress and one of my Old straw hats I have behind the day bed on an old dress form....And to make it stand up higher I sat it on 2 vintage suitcases...
My Hospice thrift store tea set for the month of May....Sat it on my old wicker bed tray...
Now you can see the angle I have the day bed on...this room has only one wall that is a flat wall in it...the others are all angles walls so very hard to place furniture in this room...I love this day bed as it has a trundle bed under neath and pops up and makes into a queen size bed...Great for extra guest...I also have a Antique double bed in this room...So it will sleep 4....The quilt I got from J.C. Penny's catalog like in March....Just loved the sweet little roses on it and I think it looks Olden...Also got one for the other bed...
This is my Grandma's Double wedding ring quilt she made in 1913 before she got married...I took a large rubber band and gathered it at the top added a ribbon to it so I could fan it out hang it on the wall...Then I pinned it to the wall...
Now these are Tin cutout's that hang on the french doors...I also have these in my kitchen french doors and just love them....I still have to hang my tea cup wreath from the hanger but I am redoing it...Oh Yes another project still to do ha ha!!
My Antique Baby Buggy with one of my Antique baby dolls...Oh yes I also have all my doll collection in this room...This is a Hi-Lo baby doll and she is wearing my Baby hat and dress...WOW!! that's an Antique also now...well at least Vintage ha ha!!
This is a Chintz tea pot that I made a lamp into...Oh I just love Chintz
Rattan table and chairs I got out yard sailing...there were painted brown so I repainted them white added new shabby chic fabric to the chairs....sat it in front of the AC duck door to try and cover it up a wee bit.....Old chippy shutters and window box that I made....
Now even my guest bath got all the left overs while I was working in here...When I get it all done I will show you the whole room...This bed room is 640 feet so it's good size...now this Old claw foot tub I found in a friend of mine's field he was using it to water his horses...Oh girls I wanted this tub and he told me if I bought him a water trough I could have it...well I about broke speed laws getting to the feed store to get his trough...I had Miracle method refinish it has the claw feet done in gold electro plating added the shower fixture and let me tell you this FREE tub costed me a lot of $$$ by the time I got done with it ha ha!! So there you have just a sneak of what I have been up to....If I ever get the urge to hang wall paper again I sure hope someone slaps me silly ha ha!! I hope to show you the whole room done this week...I know I am getting real tired of working up here ha ha!! May all of you have a great week...

Thanks for coming by and seeing what I been up to...Now I better go so I can get this all done ha ha!!!

Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria

Gloria, that is such a sweet and nostalgic room! I've gotta tell you that my MIL made my daughter a double wedding ring quilt years ago - same as your pattern! I love the creative way you displayed it - great idea! Linda

Oh Gloria, what a beautiful attic retreat. I would love to do something like that to my attic if we ever finish getting it cleaned out. And you say you aren't even done yet. Here's an idea, you can rent it out to traveling bloggers to recover the cost of that "free" tub!

Removing wallpaper is a nasty job. I hired three guys to do it in our last home. What a mess. Your room is looking almost done, though. I especially love the cut-out used for a valence.

oh mom!! I can't wait to see it all finished! Is this my room when I arrive????
got my tooth pulled today. They had to take some of my jaw bone with it. I was doing famously until the freezing came out...not as bad as I thought...but oh man! It is sore!
I hope you have a great week!

So much work is involved in removing wallpaper. I just hope it is cool in your attic bedroom. So many of those under the eaves rooms are hot in the summer time. Your efforts are paying off - everything looks great. Sally

Hi Girl!

I see you've been busy decorating and it all looks beautiful.
Your chitz lamp is precious!

I just adore your gorgeous clawfoot tub! What an amazing find.

This room is really going to be beautiful! I love all of your vintage and antique things, they really are lovely. Love the "free" tub, and I really love the way you displayed the wedding ring quilt, that's a great idea. Don't over do it, but can't wait to see the finished room! (By the way, the only time my DH has ever threatened bodily harm was when I mentioned the word wallpaper to him. We spent the first 2 months after we bought our house tearing down UGLY wallpaper from the 70's!) Hugs, Kathy

Hey Girlfriend...I'm home! I sure have missed you and see that I've been missing out on all kinds of goodies at your place! Girl, your guest room is soooo beautiful!!! I just love how you've done everything...such a sweet nostalgic ambiance...kind of like taking a step back into time! I really love your pretty iron daybed...it's so scrolly and sweet...your new comforter set is perfect with it...it's gorgeous!!! Now I think that putting that dress form with that lovely vintage wedding dress with the bed is such a great idea...Ooooh and your Grandma's wedding ring quilt is just gorgeous too! I love how you draped it on the wall...it sure makes a beautiful piece of art on the wall behind the bed! You're such a clever girl! Love that pretty rattan table and chair set...Oooh, I would love to find one like that...it's perfect for that guest room and you have made such beautiful vignettes on top of it! Your chintz teapot lamp is magnificent (but then I bet you knew I'd love that...hehe!)

Love your guest bath too...Girlfriend, what a fabulous claw foot tub! I would have loved seeing them get that up the stairs...hehe! I know those things weigh about a ton! Well...it looks like you've been really busy...your guest room is fabulous! Soooo...will this be my room if I come for a visit? You wouldn't believe it but Russell told me this morning that he had thought about flying me out to your place so I we could meet and visit...not sure if it will happen but my teeth just about dropped out of my mouth...hehe! Anyway, did you get all the wall paper down yet or is that one of the things that you're still working on? It's all looking so beautiful, Sis!!! I just adore it!

I haven't done too much since I got home...Girl, I'm one pooped out little lady! I think it may take me weeks to recuperate but I had so much fun and it was all worth it!!! I sent you an email the night we got home...did you get it?

Well Sis...can't wait to hear from you!
Love you,
Chari
PS...my mama loved the teacup lamp! She was sooo surprised! I took photos and will send them to you! Thank you again, my dear sweet friend!!!

My gosh you've been so busy!! I like the idea of fanning your grandmother's double ring quilt and displaying it this way. You reminded me that I have a Victorian child's baby buggy somewhere in the crawl space. It may be time to pull that out again!

Can't wait to see it when it's finished!

But don't work too hard okay!

Gloria I am blown away again by all of the beautiful things in this room. My favorites are the wedding ring quilt that you have so beautifully displayed and that tub!!!!!!! Oh my goodness I wanted a clawfoot tub so badly when we built our home but they were just too costly. The doll with your baby dress and bonnet are precious! You need to open a bed and breakfast so we can come and stay in your beautiful rooms! Have a great day! Hugs, Loretta

Oh, Gloria! I want every single thing you have..grandma's quilt and all!
I wanted to wall paper my tiny hall in something really cute and now you are scaring me to death and making me remember the nightmare of stripping! I had nearly forgotten....still...I do love wallpaper.
It's funny how trends come and go...and how to have a wall paper border was the way to go...and now...everyone is stripping them or wanting to.
:) I cannot wait to see the entire effect when you are through!
I been missing you!!! :)

Mona
