Beautiful table, Gloria!!!
Gloria, I love your plates. They are so beautiful! All the details are so pretty. Love the sweet colors. So lucky of you to inherit them from your grandma and mom and that makes them even more special too....Christine
Beautiful dishes!! I know - I tremble everytime I come even close to dropping a dish. My grandmothers were so careful with everything - I try to be, also. Take care, Sally

Gloria, I just love the story behind the dishes. How very wonderful, but at the same time kind of sad that your grandma and mama were afraid to actually use them.
Girl, your mom is looking down on you right now and is SO proud of the woman you are!
Justine :o )
Oh, Gloria... this is so elegant and feminine and beautiful! It's all three of those things rolled into one and so much more. And that precious picture of the Queen Mum! Your mother would be so proud to be honored that way. It's just perfect.

You didn't eat alone you had your momma there with you.
I know the china has a special place in your heart. You are so very lucky to have something like this.
In response to your question about the sugar tin...I haven't a clue as it was an empty tin. It just says Sugar on it. Maybe it was supposed to be a canister?
LOL! Brothel? Girl you make me laugh harder than any blog I read!
The dishes are so elegant and dainty. Love all the pretty roses and colors. You're so lucky to have such a special set from them. The pink depression glasses and little birdies are precious.
Love it all! Now you know I adore the gorgeous crown so much. How regal it looks as the centerpiece. Great idea!
I can't wait to see the finished guest room!
Have a good evening.

This is such an elegant place setting! I love the crown on your tablescape. I just left you a HUGE apology on my blog. I didn't realize that you had been emailing me on my gmail account. I never checked it. I had emails going way back to the first of the year!! I now will check it more often. You must have thought I was ignoring you. I haven't read them all yet but what I have read you left some wonderful and kind comments about my little family. I'll check it more often now I promise! Thanks for those kind comments, I honestly didn't know they were there. Forgive me? Cindy
Yes, what a blessing to have all of those heirlooms. Your table is beautiful!
LOVE having special treasures on the table... very lovely!
Your china and glasses are so beautiful and you have them displayed so well. It always makes me glad to see people enjoying the glass and china they inherited instead of putting them in the cupboard to dust. Your mom sounds like a wonderful lady!

And I'll bet they're REALLY glad you're being careful with their treasures!

Hi Gloria,
For about three weeks now I have been trying to figure out what ailed my computer. Dear Laurie wrote me and said my blog was password protected. Duh!
Don't know how it happened, but I'm sure I did it late at night when I should have been zzzzzzzzzzzzzing. I do stay up too late, and wonder sometimes why I write such nonsense.
You post are so beautiful...... I love, love the pink and the mosaic is great with the pink candles located in the center. Great job!
I have missed your humor and I appreciated your attitude. You seem to always look on the bright side and it works so well.
Come on down, as someone says, and see my playing while I was thinking everyone had left me. Very comforting to know it was able to be fixed easily.
You gals even have me looking at dishes, forks and knives these days. I just might move south !!!!

Your grandmother and mama would be so proud to see their beautiful china and other precious things so treasured and used (although, yeah, they would also be nervous!). That china pattern is simply gorgeous -- I am a sucker for floral china, especially when it has the pattern on the inside, too!
Wonderful post -- lovely Queen for a Dinner table!

Hello Gloria,
Oh my what a perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon, visiting your blog! I have been reading way back since May. It's started with the tutorial on that adorable little teacup lamp. That is just so darn cute. I have to make one.
I love vintage stuff like you do also, although I do not have anywhere near the extensive collection that you have! What a nice walk down memory lane. I have vintage tins and such in my kitchen. My dear father-in-law used to collect all milk memorabillia. I will post about that one day. I got such a laugh from dear sweet Picket when I read her comment about the prophy things in the tins. She is such a hoot! I love her. Love all of your beautiful china too! Take care and have a great weekend!
Debbie from NJ
Gloria, I think that china has got to be just about the most beautiful pattern I have ever seen! Aren't you the lucky one to have something so special with such a rich and meaningful history! :)

Oh food poisoning is the worst....UGH! I do hope you are feeling better now my friend.
Thanks for coming by and being so sweet as always. Whenever you come by it's a treat. ;)
That little swag curtain I have way up high in the entry was such an ordeal to hang that day. Let's just say Alex was NOT happy about it at all but he did it anyway. I'm lucky he's a sweet and patient man. LOL! His poor legs were shaking from being so nervous. Oops...don't tell him I told you that part of the story. HEHE! :)
Hi Happy! Just had to come by for another look at this sooooo sweet vignette. Hope you have a great week!
Gloria: This is simply stunning. I love the china. I can well understand why your grandmother loved it so much. It's a beautiful pattern and the Depression glass goes beautifully with it. Enjoy it, use it. - The Tablescaper
I hope you had a wonderful time at the swap meet!!! can't wait to see what screamed your name!!!
How I love your Grandmother's china! Tell me now! Tell me now! Where did the bird stirrer come from? So cute! I love the picture of your Mother in the crown! I love the crystal candle holder! I have one similar, the bottom was broken, now I now what was on it! lol I use to have it in an old bowl with hole in it and would add flowers around it. But the bowl is on my chandy now! lol Love the flatware! I love your Mother's special table!
The china is just beautiful and what a wonderful story behind it all! I don't think I'd ever let those dishes out of my sight. What a special family heirloom. You know I also love that pink depression glass and the battenberg lace tablecloth because I have some of that myself.
I just love that crown with your mom's pic inside! Did Tootsie see the crown? I know she would have loved to see it.
Kady
beautiful china and silverware.
What a cute accent with the crown.
Oh Gloria, Everything looks so sweet, I love it all. If you ever get tired of the pink glasses, give me a hoot. I notice your gold flatware, I have two different sets. I use to have so much of everything in gold. I did however tone it it done by painting some serving pieces in a creamy white. It did take some nerve to do it, and I'm glad I did. By the way your china is beautiful, I do hope you use it often.
Enjoy your evening girl-
Beautifully done dear Gloria~ love the picture of your Mother.... the sweetest.
How fortunate you are to have inherited the lovely china from your family. You are so wise to use the china. I really enjoyed your family story and the tablescape.
