♥ This and That ♥

Hello all my Blogging buds...I know it's been months since I lasted posted..I want to say a BIG thank you to the few that took the time to email me or come by to see if I was still alive..I'm still here just kind of lost my bubble with blogging..I think this happens with all of us.

I have done a few things in my home but not anything news worthy been spending my time just trying to get healthy..We finally got the chandy hung in the new bathroom and I'm loving it..I bought this chandy from my best friend Vanna at " delusions of grandeur " about 2 years ago...If you want to see beautiful drool on your keyboard french eye candy go by and see her blog..Tell her I said Hey!!

we recessed the ceiling in the bathroom so the chandy would hang down at the right height...

we added tin ceiling tile to the ceiling just some added bling

I know I have shown you one of my lamp shades I made many moons ago I call this one my "corset shade" does it not look like a ladies corset?

I love it at night time..

Sweet angels you can't tell from the picture but these angels are covered with crushed glass..this is called Victorian sugar glass..It's a water decal cut to fit the shape and then mod podge and then the sugar glass pour over it..each one of these shade's take me about 18 hours to make as they all hand sewn the only glue is used to add the gimp..
Len and I have been going to our local auction house and buying antiques..I got 3 new pictures that I also love but only hung one so far...

I know most peeps would paint this frame as soon as they got it home...But I don't like to ruin a piece of history...I love gold bling and it suits my home

I did add a mirror behind the shelf on my french book shelf..You see that door knob on the top shelf it's cranberry  glass..it's kinda looks like a little vase don't you think?

My old blacksmith bellows that I made into a coffee table..the legs came off of an old dining room table..still one of my favorite pieces that I made 30 years ago

Here's one of the other picture I got at auction..Love the silver and gold frame

Beautiful french lady with flowers

been adding more color to my world...I know so many are into all white look..but it's just not for me I have to have color in my home...I just read after a billion peeps have jumped on the all white look that color and wallpaper are coming back into decorating style again.. What's old is new again!!
Found more red/white transfer ware plates and redid my laundry room wall

But mostly what I have been doing besides trying to be healthy once again is spending time with my great grandson Landen as he takes me for walks and fills my heart with his pure Innocent l♥ve and joy...I don't want to miss one memory with this sweet boy..

Thanks for coming by
Until next time from my mountain to yours

Hugs and smiles
Gl♥ria

Hello there! You filled my heart with joy this morning .....

I do know what you mean about 'blog bubbles' ~~ I let go of Living Boldly a few months ago, now I concentrate on Poetry Matters, which includes a bit of everything. One blog is complicated enough, two were really nutty!

Take care and enjoy that precious little grandson,
Helen

Oh Gloria, you are back to delight us and to make us happy with your posts of your gorgeous home and your beautiful decorating ideas..PLUS, your wonderful sence of humor! Just this minute we're having place in the ceiling a plaster ornate, flowered carved medallion, AFTER our Antique Italian chandy was up!! They're doing a great job, though. I love your gorgeous tin bling and your bathroom looks like a place I'd love to spend bathing and drinking champagne, lol.. Hope all is better with you and I will include you in my prayers.

I have missed you , girl!!
What beautiful goodies you have shared with us today and I was chuckling to myself as I read this post because it seemed like some of the words came out of this ole mouth of mine!! No white walls or painted antique pieces here and I too love my bling!!
I love your home and everything that you have in it but most of all, you know I love your heart and i have missed that.
I am thrilled to hear that you are trying to get healthy and you seem to be doing a good job of that and making those precious memories with that little guy of yours!!

I hope you are feeling better...your little guy is growing up fast!

The chandelier is so gorgeous and I love how you did the ceiling to showcase it. Just beautiful. Take care my friend...feel well!

Sweet Gloria it is so good to hear from you and know that your are doing the important thing of keeping yourself healthy! I think you are right about blogging- I enjoy it still I just don't have as much time for it these days so post when I can and not worry about it.

I do so love the chandy you got from Vanna (another who I miss in blog world!). You are so right about her house- Yours and her's are 2 of the ones that I go to for my homes inspiration.

I love the all white look but like you just can't seem to do it with my home. I love old things and have gotten used to hearing "coming here is like going to my grandma's house"

I love the shade you made!! I have a cranberry glass lamp that a friend GAVE(can you believe I have such great friends!?) me but it needs a shade and I can't seem to figure out what size and shape to get for it. If you have a bit of time I would love for you to look at it and give me your opinion-

Goodness those pictures as so awesome too!!You certainly have class friend! What are you doing being friends with me!??

Sweet friend, don't feel hurt if bloggers don't check in on you. There are just so many and sometimes they don't post because blogging and keeping up has become too much.
I expect nothing and then what I get is just so precious to me. When I first began blogging, one of you told me, bloggers come and bloggers go. Don't feel hurt when their interest wans and they fall off the radar. It can be for many, many reasons.
Between family, friends and blogging, and just everyday correspondence, it's simply impossible, I think, to keep up.

As soon as I saw your name on Lynne's post this morning..I hurried over to see if by chance there was a post. Usually there is not.
For everything there is a season...
and to me blogging is a way to temporarily touch the lives of others. It's wonderful but not always easy if you take on too much or get too emotionally involved.

I have cherished knowing you. If I am not always on your cyber doorstep it doesn't mean I don't care.
Some drop away from blogging I think, because they care so much and it becomes overwhelming.
You have blessed all who know you with your beautiful blog.
Hugs,
Mona

Hi Gloria, I love your new pictures as well as your new chandy. Very clever ideal for the ceiling, I have never thought of that one. I always enjoy seeing your house all the wonderful antiques and color. I guess I'm not trending in my decorating because I like to wake every day to a little color, and I still love my red. I'm trying to get back into posting, but it,s hard, my heart's not in it anymore. My prayers are with you and keep enjoying that wonderful grandson.

Hi darling, oh how I've missed our morning coffee together. There doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day for all I want to do, getting around to my favs is harder and harder. Mr. P takes up alot of my time, trying to keep him on his feet is a challenge. At least he's using the walker now, that is such a relief. He's like a little boy curves and swerves through the dining room and living room teasing the dog.. it is a sight. My Bailey and Catie will be home Christmas for 2 weeks I cannot wait.. it will be great to have laughter in the house once again, it is soooooo quiet around here, makes me very sad. I love you girl and miss you like crazy, the only visiting I do is on here with what "few" people that come by the blog and through the posting of the shop.. at least I do have that so I'll get off my soap box and back to work.... hugs ~lynne~

Hello my darling Gloria!
I do miss your posts, but I think that this is the right time for other pursuits for you -- your health being #1. and of course, time with family -- the most precious time there is.

Love your new additions!

Ah I thought I was the only October commenter, but someone beat me here first. :-)

I had 3 procedures on my arm to get rid of a patch of malignant melanoma, but am healing and getting impatient with having to "favor" that arm -- thank goodness it's the left, and I'm right handed.

But my daughter Anne moved home in May, and she's cooking for us, so that's a benefit!

Now let's both promise to take care of ourselves, and keep in touch.

Be well -- Cass

Gloria, I was so glad to hear from you, and I raced right over here to give you a great big HUG. Hope you are doing well.

I was sick all summer, and I mean ALL summer and am finally feeling better. I battled the worst respiratory infection that kept me down for months. But I'm feeling better now. Still having computer problems. But I try to blog when I can. I have borrowed my husband's ipad and am on that when I can sneak it away from him.

I don't know how to do a post from it or load a picture so I'm really stuck in terms of blogging.

You are really something. I can't believe you make those shades! Amazing. And the chandelier is perfect in your bathroom. I love how glamorous it is, Gloria.

And the picture of you and Landon is darling.

Sending my love across the miles, my friend.
