~Victorian Musical tree Stand~

Merry Christmas,

I know all of you have seen like a gazillion trees in blog land so far...But really I just wanted to take a quick minute and really show you my pride and joy of my antiques...

I love my sweet little Gingerbread tree I put up each year in my kitchen...

Now this is really what I wanted you to see...It's my Victorian Syphonion Musical Christmas tree stand from Leipzig, Germany ca. 1870

This was a Christmas gift from my late husband about 30 years ago...I just love it, loved him more sighs...I did a small video if you would like to see that after 150 years it still works...

Now I have to tell you a funny story about this stand...Years ago I had a Lion's club dinner party and had this stand in the center of my table...Picture this beautiful table set with my best china and stem ware...white tree looking beautiful with all red and gold heart ornaments on it..Well come time to eat I turned the music box on..Duh!! the tree started to spin around like it should just forgot to unplug the lights from the electrical outlet..Well it just got wound up like an eight day clock and the whole tree fell right into my bowl of mash potatoes and knocked over the gravy...I laughed until I cried over that one...So much for my fancy dinner party.

I am linking this up to Marty's for TTT...Thanks Marty Please go by and see her at A Stroll Thru Life

Until next time from my mountain to yours,

Hugs and smiles, Glria

Happy Saturday Gloria Sweetie...
Oh my what a beautiful post. I love gingerbread men and I too have a tree in my kitchen filled with ornaments relating to them. Oh what joy those gingerbread men bring. They are always so happy and smiling, and we can just envision the smell of them cooking.

I have never seen a tree musical box as yours. It is absolutely beautiful sweetie. Such a treasure given with such love many years ago. It is as though he is still giving to you after all these years. I love it. I was just laughing and laughing at the tree fall with the potatoes and gravy. How fun it is to look back and laugh. At the time I know it wasn't. We laugh so we don't cry.

Well sweetie, I hope you have a wonderful holiday. Merry Christmas. Many hugs and so much love, Sherry

anyways...I need to know where you store this so we don't forget to load it onto the truck...lol
I also need to know where you got that tree...it is very similar to the large white tree that I have...did you put the snow on it yourself??? do you know where to get more of that snow???? I don't want that cheap spray you can get anywhere...I want the stuff that is on these trees and I cannot find it anywhere!!!!
love you lots...will call you soon. I have been so busy that I haven't had a chance to phone anyone for weeks now...I sure miss you momma!!!
hugs and loves...

Hi darling, thank you for coming by and letting me know about sweet Kyra's birthday. My goodness where has the time gone to? I need some updated pics darling.. I know she's just as cute as ever. You are always sooooo sweet and kind and so supportive.. not sure what I would do without you darling. No, the package hasn't arrived yet.. will be sure to let you know.. something to look forward to that's for sure. (Yours is on the end of the counter for me to take up tomorrow to mail.. haven't had a chance or desire to get out). With our anniversary being so close to Christmas I get a bit "blue" wondering now if he'll remember this year... life certainly spins it's ugly weaves at times doesn't it? Ok.. enough of that. I'm back to cleaning out and straightening up the pantry.. No... you won't see pics of that, lol.. not sure why I'm taking pics of anything anymore, habit I think. Girl You know that someone in Missouri loves you more than anything... I'm so blessed to call you friend. hugs ~lynne~

First, I love your Christmas header. Second, you had asked about my angels in the hallway. The large angel, holding the book, is a Jim Shore. I just love his stuff. laurie
