~COME FOR COFFEE~

Hello Girls, I'm joining in at Chari At "Happy to Design" today for do over Sunday...this is a fun day that you can show a post you did in the past....I did this post the first of the year....Thanks Chari for giving us a chance to have a Do over ha ha!! If you girls have a post you would love to show again please go by and see Chari and she'll explain the hows to's and join in on the party....

A Girl got to have her morning cup of Coffee...Thought I would share a few of my coffee grinders with you all today. This is a coffee sign from You Guess it !! 1869 it is 3 dimensional How cool what that for that year...This is one of my favorite signs in my Kitchen and maybe because its Blue and White...YOU THINK ?

Now this coffee grinder is from a Old General store it was made by Charles Parker Company it the same company that made shot guns ca. 1880 WOW!! Having a cup of coffee from this one would be a Blast..These are small grinder's that would grind only enough beans for one pot...these you would find in most homemakers Kitchens there are from 1870-1890.

Now these next two hung on the side of a covered wagons...I guess when the people went West they also had to have their morning jump start lol !! ca. 1840-1860 I just love all the history these have..Just image the journey that must of been with no roads, with Indian's after you, and all your belongings in a wagon..but hey !! they didn't have to pay for GAS !!! OH when traveling was fun.

The Hopper on both of these are tin..but the rest is Iron and the wood frames my late DH made so we could hang them on Kitchen wall to display..

These next two also would have been found in a homemaker kitchen... and I have used both of these...however the beans I have in them are so old now I wouldn't want to drink the coffee of course that might wake me up if I did...

You see the little rings at the bottoms??? take your time I'm wait while you find them...now you pull that ring and it releases the glass that you just grounded your beans into..it only there to hold the container while you grind.. these are both from ca. 1870

Now whats all these grinder without COFFEE ??? The Tin Caswell 's Coffee can I keep my coffee filters in and the Glass Coffee container Red and White Coffee is from ca. 1940 and I keep my Coffee in it...Of course sitting right beside it is my Bunn Coffee Machine but didn't show it Hey !! I want you guys to think I really do work for my morning cuppa coffee...

Hope you all have enjoy your Coffee with me today.. Please come back for a second Cup.....

See all of you tomorrow to announce the winner of my Christmas give away and if you haven't entered there still time Click here to do so and good luck....

May all of you have a Great and safe day....From my side of the mountain to yours...Hugs and Smiles Gl♥ria

I've pretty much given up collecting antique things (almost) because this house is just not as suited to having them displayed. I could almost get into the coffee items. We love coffee and I've always loved old advertising pieces. The grinders are so cool. I am glad you did a rerun since I wasn't around the first time! Loved it!

Gloria, this is fascinating! I love to see all of the things you've collected, and I love the pops of red against the blue counters of your kitchen.

Sending you lots of love. If I'm MIA some this week, it's because we have unexpected workmen coming. Pray for your little friend. Lots going on...

XO,

Sheila :-)

Mornin' Sis...

Hmmm...11:00am is still considered morning...isn't it? Hehe! What a lazy morning for us...we woke up to lots of snow and cold, cold temps! Russell has the wood stove going full force and I have a pot roast slow cooking...I don't think much is going to get done here today! What are ya'll up to today? Hehe...I know, you are going to be loungin' in that comfy, cozy red robe of yours...it's called "recuperating" from 10 hrs. of shopping! Hehe! Girl, you're better than me...I don't think I could do 10 hrs...as much as I would like to! Bet you and Candice had a great time though! Where all did you go and did you find anything good?

Sis...you know that I just love reading about all of your antiques! It's sooo interesting and I can't help but think of all the people and living that they did with these items! Loved looking at your coffee collection! You know, my Grandpa had one of the old square wooden box coffee grinders...I don't know what ever happened to it but I would have loved to have it! I bet my Mom has it...hope so anyway! My favorite one...besides your big ol' grinder that sits on the counter...is the one that hangs on the wall! It has the real pretty ornate black cast iron. It's pretty!!! Love your old coffee sign too...is it wood? Looks like it to me. Well Darlin'...thanks so much for joining in with Sunday Favorites again this week...what a treat!!!

You better get some rest...rest up from your long-haul of a shopping trip! Hehe! Love you, Sis!!!

Chari
PS...got your email and yes, I just got my apothecary beverage jar from Sara this last week. Ohh...you should see it...it's gorgeous! Yesterday I filled it up with all kinds of gold and cream colored ornaments to put in my living room! I'll have to take photos of it this week!

Interesting! The first picture reflecting the coffee company in Waco, TX is fun...Waco is a couple of hours south of where I live. My s-i-l's mom lived there until she passed away last year. Thanks for showing us a real piece of history with all your coffee grinders!

Hey Gloria,
That is the neatest coffee memorabila that you shared, loved hearing the history too...I especially love that first blue plaque with the lady on it. I couldn't help but notice your gorgeous blue tile in your kitchen and your blue dishes...I will have to admit that I couldn't keep focused on the items in the post, because I was trying to look at your stuff in the background! LOL! Don't know if I should have admited to that or not. LOL! Hope you are having a great weekend, and a very happy holiday season!
Big Hugs,
Queenie
