Yeah, sure, Sunny California!!! LOL I understand. But we actually did camp one weekend at Yosemite in the snow. I was fine with the fire and snuggling down in the sleeping bag but I was 25 years younger then, sugar! LOL Looks fun actually. We have a generator for such things.

Connie

Oh, I'm so excited! I love these things and it is a treat to get them from you! Thank you so much!

I can't believe that is California. We have a winter storm warning for today and tomorrow...but we aren't expecting nearly that much snow...but high winds and frigid temps.

Thanks again so much...you are such a sweetheart!

Brrr. It looks so pretty, but I can live without it. All the slop and salt that gets tracked into the house no matter how hard I try to keep it cleaned up, and order everyone to take their boots off at the door. Good time for you for relaxing and snuggling down. Rosie

Hey Gloria,
My dear, your snow has traveled to my house as we have Winter Storm Warnings as I write this! 6-12 inches is what they are saying right now. Lovely pics at your house and I am glad to hear your ok!! Hugs and Congrats to Sue! She's such a nice gal! Cindy

I saw your post and thought CAMPING? Gloria went camping? I'm going to see how she camps. OMG, I thought I would fall out of my chair laughing. Now, I have to tell you that when we had our home in the mountains in western N.C. we had the same problems, mostly falling trees weighted down with ice, would fall across the power lines. We had a huge gas tank though and our kitchen stove was gas and the fireplaces also. The big problem though was the pump was electric, so no water. And the power would be out sometimes 4 or 5 days. :( I wasn't near as smart as you about being prepared.
Those photos of the snao are awesome.

Hugs,
Chris

Russell should be home from work soon...I'm so glad because it's getting worst! Hehe...I may be camping tonight too! Hehe! At least ya'll are set up for it...love your little stove and coffee pot!!! You really must share the designer!!! wink!

Well Darlin'...you stay warm and I'll be praying that you keep your electricity!!! Just want to shout out a great big Congratualtions to Sue for winning your fabulous Christmas giveaway!!!

Oh how I remember those days when I lived in the mountains in Oregon. We had a fireplace and a wood stove with 2 burners on top. That is how we kept warm and cooked. A pot of beans or stew and a pot of coffee or hot chocolate. Then the best of all, we would make snow ice cream. Seemed hard sometimes, but now my children share the greatest stories and memories of those times. Hope the electric stays on for you. Hugs, Marty

Oh wow, look at all that snow! When one hears California, the last thing we think of is snow but I guess being up in the mountains, snow does reach you there:-) Thank goodness for generators and camp stoves but no computer....oh nooooooo! I go crazy if I lose my internet for an hour! lol We just have a sprinkling of snow on the ground right now but that's supposed to change. Tomorrow we're supposed to have our first big snowstorm of the season. I hope it doesn't get as severe as they're predicting. Yikes!

Congratulations to your winner:-) xoxo

Congrats to Sue on her win!

Gloria, I can't believe you got all that snow! Oh, you poor cold little mama, you! Come down and live with your daughter in Florida, and you will never be cold again! Well, maybe not snowed in kind of cold. LOL! :-) Notice I didn't promise you wouldn't be hot. ;-)

Speaking of hot, I took a picture of my car temp (and then erased it). Try 81 degrees at 4:30 this afternoon. No humidity. Perfect weather. I took pictures of the amazing blue skies on my way to Central Florida, too. And I didn't know you were all snowed in, Gloria. Am sending you some sun to melt that snow and help keep your electricity on!

Hope all is well now. I've had a wild few days (will email you later), and now I'm down here getting ready to go to a party on Thursday and some other things. I'm tired and need to go to bed, but I missed blogging this afternoon. Got to play catch up!

Love you...

XO,

Sheila :-)

girl...I almost thought you were showing photos of my back yard!!! we got that same storm here...only we got so cold that even the busses didn't run for the kids to go to school!!! It didn't matter, they are sick anyways...lol
-36C one night...thought my greenhouse would freeze right up!
glad you got the power back...so many miss you when you are gone!

Oh girl, it looks so pretty but last time I went to the mountains in the snow I fell so hard on an icy road I said I'd never go again!
Sounds pretty romantic to be snowbound and camping out with Len. Oh, until he gets the generator going. If he's like my hubby he's asleep 5 minutes after he turns on the tv!

It's not looking good for Sunday with another storm coming in Thursday - Saturday. Between snow, ice, rain and fog I'd rather we all play it safe! I'll call you Saturday and we can see how it's going.

Stay warm!
Dawn

Whoaaaa! That is some snow! I know it snows up there in them there hills, but I don't think I've seen anything like that this side of Tahoe! I do remember seeing some heavy snow in Pollack Pines a few years ago...we got out and played in it! We just had a little snow here yesterday...we couldn't believe it...its only been 12 years or so since it snowed, and not this much. What happened to global "warming"???LOL!
Good thing you had that camping gear!

Congratulations to your winner...she got some very nice things!

God bless,
Mary

Great pictures. Having an all electric house can be forbidding when the power goes off. Glad you have a generator. Growing up in Nevada City, California we used to get a lot of snow. Now that I live in Alabama whenever we do get snow I love it. We got one and one half inches Saturday. Not much but it was pretty while it lasted. Stay warm and have a blessed day. Congratualtions to the winner. Madeline

That is a lot of snow...very pretty though. We got about 5 inches here in central Mass. Seems like a lot on the ground. Good thing I ran errands yesterday, cause I don't want to go out today. I've been fighting a cold since Sunday morning, so little posting has been done on either of my two blogs.
Enjoy your week, and Happy Holidays,
Carrie

The snow looks so peaceful. I love the look of fresh snow. I just wouldn't have to shovel it or drive in it. I'm glad we don't get snow here in sunny southern Cali. Today we are getting rain though. Close enough. At least you don't have to shovel rain. But it doesn't look as pretty.
