Good Morning....I hope all of you guys had a Great Thanksgiving....Mine does not start until tomorrow...as my daughters and family are coming up for the whole weekend.....YAHOO!! ( picture me doing cartwheels here and Happy dance).....As I said its so hard to all get together on the day of...so we always have a family weekend after the Holiday....Works for me any day I can have my girls here is a day to be thankful for... I spend the day at my granddaughter Candace's house...Oh can that young girl cook...YUM....Their were only 3 of us for the day...another plus for me I could wear my sweats ha ha!!....Oh Yes right in the middle of getting dinner ready Candace says "Grandma lets put up my tree" lol!! So out to the shed we go to get boxes and boxes of Christmas stuff...Good grief that girl only been married 3 years and she got more Christmas stuff that I collected in 50 years....And she got an 8 ft. tree that weights like a zillion pounds with fiber lights and just lights....I kid you not this tree should have it own room and zip code...And every year it get a new color?? Oh Yes can't have the same color ornaments as last year..What would people say....So in these zillion boxes we brought in half the stuff she could not use as it was not the right color...(picture me scratching head at this point) This years color are all silver, black and white....Oh the Oakland Raiders would love this tree ha ha!! So here we are putting this zillion pounds tree together making bows, hanging ornaments, Candace going behind me because I hung 2 of the same ornaments by each other ha ha!! Then its needed a new tree topper after all last years was a big Gold snow flake...So I start working with the glue gun and Glitter glue sticks to match...I mean how cute can this girl get...Matching glitter glue sticks....(another head scratching moment here) She had these silver stick thingys and I made a tree topper in silver, black for her...Now these stick thingys are also covered in glitter, so by the time I got done with this tree topper her whole house was full of glitter...I mean it looks like a Disco ha ha!! Now her poor Hubby was on call for the day...so off he goes on his call ( Lucky guy) gone 5 hours....wonderful smells coming from his kitchen when he left....and walked back into this house that is torn up from the floor up with Christmas stuff and glitter even in the corn chips ha ha!! Dinner been turned off hours ago...after all you can't do Thanksgiving in the middle of Christmas.....So it was late by the time we eat and I wasn't even hungry by that time as I been eating Glitter chips most of the day ha ha!! I had a GREAT Thanksgiving with Candace and Braden...got home late took off my DISCO sweats and this is how I feel today !! Now this girl was going at 1am to Black Friday and wanted to know if I wanted to go with her!!! I think all that glitter fried her brain cells...
May all of you have a great weekend on your side of the mountain...As for me its going to take a month to get all this glitter off my face lol !!

What a fun filled day! I can just see you with glitter & glue and a turkey leg ~ :-) So happy you had a wonderful day with a wonderful girl!
Sounds like a great day yesterday. We are having ours tomorrow also. I am like you and so ready to see all the family. Hope your day is perfect. Hugs, Marty
Sounds like you had a fun day! I had Thanksgiving Yesterday, but there have been times I scheduled on different days to work with others. But that is ok - just enjoy having everyone together when I can.
It sounds like you had a great day yesterday, Gloria! What a lot of fun {glitter and all}! How nice that you get to extend it to the weekend. I hope you rested up today! : )

Hi, precious one! I'm so glad you had a great day. I love to decorate trees so it sounds like a lot of fun to me! :-)
I'm glad that glitter was so tasty! LOL!
We had a great day, too, and I got lots of beautiful pictures of the place where we ate. I'm trying to figure out if there is a meme that I can tie in with them. Maybe Foodie Friday. There was lots of food afoot!
Love you lots and wishing you all the happiness in the world every day, all day!
XO,
Sheila :-)

You need to show us pictures of this tree with it's on zip code..lol.. hope you ate just a wee bit of the Thanksgiving dinner..lol.. (wish I could have been there to join in all the fun)... Happy "late" Thanksgiving my dear friend.. love ya
p.s. Bailey got up first thing and wanted to put our tree up, naturally I said, "ok". It's up and decorated.. gotta love a child that has fun decorating a tree..lol

Hi,
Your day sounded like so much fun! Your happy dance is so funny, you'll have lots of fun with your family.
Just this past Sunday, I tought the kids in Sunday School how to do the happy dance. They think I'm nuts!! I think I'm funny!
The kids are grade 4-6, so I can still have fun, they are not too serious yet!
I hope you have a GREAT weekend!
Gloria, sounds like you and your girls had a lot of fun. Glad your Thanksgiving was a good one. I like your Christmas header with all the antiques. Have a great day. I am going to get busy and get my outside Christmas decorations up. Madeline
I'm laughing as I picture you with your glitter glue sticks and making that tree topper with the glue all over your face! I needed the chuckle also from that cartoon. What a wild holiday it has been here also! Enjoy your family weekend and I'll see you next week! Cindy
Oh Gloria, your Thanksgiving day sounds so much fun. I am so happy for you to be living close to your granddaughter and she sounds just like you....Christine
Sounds like a wonderful day, G. I myself am in what we affectionately call...Christmas vomit...lol.
Big hugs to you! J
Well, I don't know. I think not having a big crowd now and then has it's merrits. I really do. You sound like you had a fantastic time all warm and cozy in your sweats! Sigh! And besides, getting to spend one on one time with a Granddaughter..HOW WONDERFUL! We drew two of my granddaughters names..and I have NO clue the sort of thing they might want. PLUS the gifts have to be hand made this year! To make matters even worse, they are in college.
I just wrote and asked Dena at Swaddle Cottage what on earth that age girl would want.
So..you see...I think that was so nice. And...lucky you, you still have some coming for the weekend! :):)
Hugs to you my precious friend!!
Mona
Oh Gloria, I was all set to see that tree. You know I've never had a "pretty" tree; I put everything I've every had on my tree--a big old hodgepodge of red, green, gold, silver, blue, pink.... Well, you get the idea.
I'll bet Candace's tree is awesome.
Hi Sis...
Just stopping by to see how your Thanksgiving was...Hehe...you and Candice are just too cute, Girlfriend! Ohhh...I would have just loved being there...we could have been the three "Christmas" musketeers! I would have been knee deep in glitter right along with the two of you!!! Hey...you'll have to talk Candice into letting you put a few photos of her Christmas tree on your blog...I'd love to see it!!! I bet the silver, black, and white is just gorgeous!!! Sounds very elegant!!! So happy that ya'll had a great time...I can just see the two of you carrying in all of those Christmas boxes...and your scheming and creating!
Sis...I didn't know that your girls were coming this weekend! I'm sooooo happy for you! I just know that ya'll have the best time when you can get together!!! Enjoy, Darlin'!!! I'll talk with you on Monday when everything settles back to normal a bit...whatever that is! Hehe!!!
Love you, Sis!
Say Hello to all your girls for me!

Hi Gloria,
Sounds like you had a wonderful day with your family.
Have a fabulous weekend
Hugs
Carolyn
I think Candance and I understand each other. I do the "change the color" every year too. Luckily, I've been doing it so long...I have lots of colors to choose from. Of course this year, I picked a new color and had to buy a few things...not nearly as many as I would have liked. It sounds as if you are having a fun several days. I'm glad.
Sue
Heeheeheeeeeeeeeeeee! You ate glitter chips! Heeheeheeeee! Gloria, this post just killed me with giggles. It sounds like you really did have a fabulous time. What fun, and great one on one time with Candace! Memories!!!! I wish you would have taken a picture of the tree when you were done with it though.
Hope you're having a fabulous time with your girls this weekend! When you get a chance, please send me your address so I can send you a Christmas card!
Justine :o )
As a rule I don't do glitter but somehow ended up with one little piece of glitter on my face all day Thanksgiving. Someone would mention it and tell me it was gone after I wiped my face then in a few minutes ist would show up somewhere else! LOL!
See you soon my glittery friend!
Dawn
Sounds like a great day...Don't you just love glitter & glue....Have a great day...PAT H
WOO HOO...your blog loads SUPER fast...what in the world did that grand do for you??
I only mentioned it because you told me once to be sure to let you know if it was slow...it is just wonderful now.
Will you kindly let ME know if mine gets too slow? Sometimes, we just put so much on, without thinking, and it bogs us down. I'd appreciate you letting me know.
Thanks, dear one...

Oh, this is too funny!
I loved this story and laughed all the way through it!
You're a good Grandma!
The best was her asking you if you wanted to come shopping at 1:00 AM!
I love it!
All the best,
Eileen
I can say that I am thankful for getting a temp job for two months. I was laid off in June. There is a possibility that it may turn into permanent.
~WOW! What a Thanksgiving celebration you all had. How fun does she sound! Must be she takes after her Grandma. :)
