~AGING AND HERO"S~

Good Morning Girls, Hope all of you had a GREAT weekend...And have a GREAT week ahead of you...

Barbie turns 50....Finally I now look just like Barbie, ha ha!!

Tweety Bird turns 6o

SupermanThor
Wonder Woman
Batman and Robin
Spider Man
Real life Hero's Army soldier in Iraq with his tiny 'plot' of grass in front of his tent. It's heartwarming! Here is a soldier stationed in Iraq, stationed IN a big sandbox. He asked his wife to send him dirt (U.S. soil), fertilizer, and some grass seed so he could smell the sweet aroma and feel the grass grow beneath his feet. Before the missions they go on, they take turns walking through the grass and the AMERICAN SOIL to bring them good luck.

He is even cutting the grass with a pair of scissors.Sometimes we are in such a hurry that we don't stop and think about the little things that we take for granted.

Please take the time today to Pray for our real life Hero's our Service men and Women who every day protected our FREEDOM...Never take it for granted...

Now I would like to ask all of you a BIG favor....Remember me telling you Len had to wear a heart monitor...Well he just got the test results back yesterday and he does have blockage, so he had to go into the hospital to have an Angiogram to see how bad the blockage is...Now they will keep him there over night...as a rule you have this done and come home the same day....But you see Len is a diabetic so they have to make sure his blood sugar is also in control before they will let him leave...The Hospital is over 6o miles away our Farkleville Hospital is not equipped to do this...I would love it if you all would just pray for him...I'm very scared to say the least...Thank You...May all of you have a Blessed day on your side of the mountain...

Hugs and Smiles

Hi Sis...

Just sent you an email when I seen you post this. Honey, you know I'm praying! I think it's a good idea to keep Len in the hospital a bit longer than usual due to his diabetes...that way they can keep it monitored...they know what they're doing!!! I think I'm confused...has he already had the angiogram?

Well Darlin'...I certainly can identify with our aging heroes! Hehe! I used to have people say that I looked like Wonder Woman only with blonde hair...hehe! I think they needed glasses but I do believe I look more like her at the age she is now...eeekks! And Darlin'...you still look like a beautiful little Barbie doll...I've seen your pics...you little petite thing you!!!

I sent you another "funny" today in your email...about age! Think you'll enjoy it! Well Sweetie...I'm thinking about you and sending all my love and prayers your way!!! Sis...I just know that everything is going to be okay!!! God is Great!!!

Love ya,
Chari

PS...I got the soldier in Iraq with his patch of grass in an email...isn't that heartwarming!!! I always keep our men and women in the armed forces in my prayers!!!

I will pray for Len. My husband has six or seven stints and has had many angiograms also. It sounds like they are paying close attention to Len. Good Luck and please let us know how he makes out.

OK, Gloria... I was going to make a sarcastic comment about FAT BARBIE :( and how I hope to NEVER AGAIN see the aging faces of Sweet Tweety Bird and my favorite hero, Batman!

Then...I scrolled down and read about the grass and American Soil and just WAILED....

I take so much for grated...

God, please change me.

Love to you~

Praying your hubby does well. Good thing they found out the problem and can fix it...take care.

Both hubby and i have had several angiograms and they are a piece of cake. Now, if, like my husband, he has blockage, praying they can do a stint instead of surgery. Praying for good results...
I loved your story about the grass.

First - Sorry your husband is having to deal with this. It is good that they are keeping him to keep a close check on him. I think "they" send many patients home way to early some times.
Love the aging super heros. :)

Your post is tooooooo cute, but Gloria, I am so sorry to hear about Len. I will definitely keep both of you in my prayers. I know you are scared and I would be too, I just pray that the Lord will help calm you and take away all of your fears. An instant healing will be my prayer. Love you and God Bless. Hugs, Marty

Gloria, I've seen that picture of the soldier with the grass before, but it was just as touching looking at it this time, and knowing how much it stands for to him and his comrades.

I'm so sorry to hear about Len, but I'm sure they're going to fix him right up! Are you there with him, or at home?

I'll pray!

Justine :o )

Gloria, You and Len will both be included in my prayers tonight. I hope things work out okay for him. Oh, how I cracked up at those pictures!
As for the photo of the serviceman tending the patch of grass, that is just unreal- How amazing to have US soil growing grass out there! That says so much about how he and his comrades feel about their country.
All the best to you my friend up there on that mountain ~ Sue

Hello my dear friend, I just got home from work and thought I would take a few minutes to say hello before I "crash and burn". I'm toatlly worn out from all the long hours over at the other job and trying to get my shop ready to go for this w/k's open house and taking care of Mr. P.
You know I'll be saying extra prayers for you and Len during this time. I know first hand how scary it can be. Many many hugs are sent your way darling..
Have to say I didn't realize anyone had taken my picture and sent it to you.. Twittybird.. darling that's me for sure right about now..
Such a beautiful sight the soldier and his grass were.. made me pause, stop and think I need to slow down and start to appreciate some smaller things in life. Right now that's a bit hard to do..
Gloria darling you and Len are in my thoughts and prayers.. hugs

May God Build a wall of His Loving Protection around you both.

And I will be praying for those in the military who sacrifice so much.

And thanks for the smiles.

Many prayers to Len and i know the fear you are feeling, my husband had a blockage 9 years ago at the age of 39, thats when he got his first couple of stints and then he had 6 more put in a year ago this month. I will be keeping Len (and you) in my prayers. I hope it all goes well and he is home to you soon. The cartoons are funny. I still have my first Barbie, she was the blonde bubble head...the second Barbie made, not the valuable first one! So, I a little older than Barbie...but younger than Tweetie Bird! Lucky me! I'm sending good thoughts your way.

Hi Gloria, was just doing some reading, wasn't going to comment anywhere as I'm pretty under the weather myself but I just want you to know we'll be praying for Len and you and for his doctors to take good care of him.

You get some rest and make Len take it easy for a while when he gets home. Tell him if I hear of him out working on the rock walls any time soon I'm coming up there...bronchitis or not.

Big Hugs,
Dawn

Gloria, I came back over here and re-read your post (because I was hurried the other day), and somehow I MISSED the part about Len the first time. I got interrupted, and I missed the last paragraph!!! Oh, absolutely, I will pray for Len! I'm so sorry to hear about the blockage, and I pray they get it straight. I'm sending you big hugs and much, much love...

Woohoo, I look like Barbie now too! hehe I knew age would eventually catch up with her. lol

Please know that my prayers are with your hubby and hopefully everything will go well. My mom's boyfriend Ross is usually kept in overnight as well when he has to go for such a procedure because he's also diabetic.

That soldier and the grass story is so beautiful, isn't it. As you say, so many things we take for granted. xoxo

Hi Gloria,
Thank you for stopping by and leaving a nice comment. I live in WV where apple butter is easy to find. Do you need me to send you some?

The soldier with the grass planted in American soil is awesome. God Bless all the service men and women.
My prayers are with you and Len.

Sorry to hear about your hubby! We will most definitely keep him in our prayers. My mom has to have a heart valve replaced sometime soon. So I know sort of what you are going through & she is diabetic too.

In regards to your funny photos. Barbie & I could be twins!!! I laughed at everyone of them. But Barbie was my favorite.

And I loved the soldier & his grass. Priceless.

Thanks for the nice comments over at my blog. And things on my side of the mountain are pretty good. We have cooler weather today. And a chance of rain. Let's hope.

We had a small 3.0 earthquake last night. Which was funny, as just yesterday I was saying that we are due for an earthquake. And bam, we have one a few hours later. At least it wasn't the big one.

I don't care how many little ones we have, as long as it's not the big one.

The joys of living in California.

Take care and we will be thinking about you & praying for your hubby.
