~SHOPPING IN MAYBERRY~

Hello Guys....I thought I would show you the BIGGEST city by me lol!! This is Jackson, Ca and I love going here each week...This is the oldest Hotel and bar in town and is still open...You can spend the night here but it's said it is "haunted" Many a gun fight took place here lol!! This is the National Hotel Est. 1862...Now up until 1952 this was a Gambling hall and Brothel...The rooms on the top floor were rented only by the hour...Governor Pat Brown closed the Brothel and gaming down in 1952 so it did operate for 100 years until the State of California closed the fun part of it ha ha!! And of course someone tried to Kill Governor Brown a year later while he was in a parade... Golly Gee I wonder why ha ha!! Jackson use to be called "Little Reno" lots of history with this old town...Which is one of the reason I just fell in love with this area so many little mining towns like this...each town here is 3 miles from each other...as Highway 49 was also the Pony express trail and the riders would get fresh horses in each town along the way... Each of these little building have a ton of Antiques shops in them now...I thought I would show you just one of the consignment shops here this is my favorite one I love to visit...remember a few months back I show you a Victorian Sofa I got will this is the shop I got it from... click here to see !!
Love the Brass and iron bed...
Oh and dishes they have so many beautiful ones here !!
This hutch reminds me of Susan's " between naps on the Porch" does it not look like her color ?? And they also have linens here...
I know Shelia at "Note Songs" would love that Rooster lamp is that not so her....
And this so reminds me of Debbie " Confession's of a plate Addict" You know she would love that Blue/White soup tureen...
Love this Hall tree with all the Blue glass...How pretty would that glass be in the window...I can just see it with the sunshine coming through it.I could just see Cindy at "Applestone Cottage" doing one of her great tables with this sweet tea pot set....
Look at the pretty red lamp and shade...could you not picture that in" Melissa's heart and Home" house with all her other beautiful reds she has...
Now this table I could of taken it all home so many pretty things...beautiful silver and china...
And this China is so Chari at "Happy to Design" would she not have fun with this doing a wonderful table and one of her Artsy photos...
Beautiful Tea cups for " Lady Katerine"
This would look great at Dot's house..."Picket's Place" is this not a cute radio...

This is so Christine at "Christine's home and travels"...all the beautiful cobalt blues and golds remind me of her...
Now this plant was so Glenda At " Tootsie Time" to me look like one she would have in her beautiful Living room...Love the drum table with the marble top...
Now this I could picture Mona "Wspersweetly of cottages" And how pretty this would look with her wonderful stacking green cake stands...She does all these beautiful showers and Dinners with her daughter Maryalice I am sure they could work them in...
Now this so reminds me of Barb at "Barb's Grits and Glamour" just look at the colors is this not her...Oh and the Toscana....

Well girls I hope you enjoyed going to Jackson with me today...Did you see any thing that you couldn't live without....Of course you know I didn't come home empty handed ha ha!! I never do...

May all of you have a Great day my Dear friends...

Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria

Oh my Gloria, this is just the greatest place. I could have taken home about half of it if I had a place to put it. But I bet I would find a place. lol What great treasures. Love the trip. Hugs, Marty

Wonderful post! Loved the tour of the shops!

There is an old hotel in Black Water Missouri. We stopped there two years ago, for lunch. Black Water is a tiny town. I could swear I saw a ghostly cowboy (this is near Jesse James country), drifting down the stairs, while we were there. I still don't know if he was real or spirit!!LOL

OH DEAR! Gloria...I wanted to just wallow in all those goodies...such beautiful things. What pretties...I would have been broke in half an hour!
Yes, well...the silverware...we ALL know what happened to my beautiful "King Richard" set?

And thank you, sweet friend O'mine for mentioning me in your post. So very sweet of you. Your post today was so much fun! But...I wanted it ALL! Everything! It was fun going shopping with you.

We Californian's have lots of that OLD WEST history...and I tend to forget that! I grew up with it and yet it is so nice to be reminded that a lot of it is still out there to be seen! Thanks so much for the reminder..

Hi Sis...

Girl, you've got me "pegged to a tee"!!! Hehe!!! I have to tell you that I was just enjoying going through all of those fabulous shopping photos and as soon as I seen that beautiful set of rose dishes...I squealed! Yep...I squealed and hollered that I wanted em' soooo bad! Then...I read what you wrote underneath the photo...Girl, I just about fell out of my chair laughing so hard!!! You know me pretty good, Sis!!! Ohhh...I dooo love those dishes and if I were there...I bet they would be coming home with me! Hehe!!! It's just so funny though!!!

Girl, you're so lucky to have so many beautiful antique shops so close to you...Jackson looks like my kind of place!!! If I ever get out to see you...you've got to take me there...okay? Well Darlin', I guess you did kind of take me shopping with you...didn't you? Hehe! Oooh...I seen so many pretties! I certainly can see why this is your favorite shop! Oh yes, and I remember that beautiful settee...I think that was a "side-track" trip from getting Len's birthday cake, wasn't it? Hehe!!! Too cute!!!

Oh my...yes, I'm so thankful that the estate sale went well...and it's such a relief to have it behind us! Although we only sold about a third of the stuff...so sometime later we'll have to do another yard sale. We didn't even get all the stuff hauled out of all the houses...but there was only so much that we could do. We weren't sure about the weather...it was supposed to rain, but thank the Lord it didn't!!! I'm so pooped that I think it's going to take me the rest of the week to catch up. But I'll be fine!!!

Love ya Sis...
Chari
PS...just realized that I wrote such a long comment...I should have probably emailed you...ooops, oh well! Hey...love your new bigger than life blog format! It looks great Darlin'!!!

hope all is well at your house...I have been thinking of you all week...I am a cleaning demon...changing things around and snapping photos...when I did my living room, I was thinking of how I hate those sofas...and need to come get those leather babies from your living room....I NEED those sofas!!! can you feel my pain???? I am whining now...sob sob....Miss you tonnes and tonnes!
It is so cold here..that last night there was a risk of rain, frost and SNOW!!! I need to garden in your area...where it is slightly warmer!

and now I am babbling...and I have to go!

I must say that really is one beautiful little miracle you are growing in pink :) ! Wow! She certainly has been through so much in her short little life...makes one realize how much we take for granted...and...all those little things we complain about really don't matter so much....if she can still smile, why can't we:)?
Sending you infinite smiles :).....

Gloria, thank you for dropping by my blog. Your pictures are great. I love all those things too, but I have been keeping house for about 50 years and need nothing. I do have a collection of cobalt blue bottles in my southern exposure window. We have some Jesse and Frank Janes history near where I live too. Their mother married a Mr. Samuels from here and there are marks (gun shot holes)left in various places. Come again. Blessings.

Hi Gloria,
Yep you know me well my friend. I have felt like "you know what" all day. Ugh! I was supposed to get my teeth cleaned today and actually had to cancel. I hope it's just a quick stomach bug and I'll be better by tomorrow.
Thanks for coming by and checking on me. I really appreciate it.

You put me in your beautiful and fun post! Yeah! You are right on as to what I would have wanted too. LOVE the red shaded lamp! I can't believe I don't have a red shade anywhere in this house. I've been thinkin' about one though believe me. I think you just helped make my lamp hunt start for sure. LOL!
What neat place you live near full of history. I would definitly enjoy seeing it one day.

I see Lynne left you a comment here. I'll have to go by and say Hello. I've thought of her and prayed many times.

Have a great night.
~Love ya, ~Melissa :)

Gloria,
You sure know your blog friend’s decorating tastes! What a neat little town and I love this consignment shop! I enjoy hearing about the history of old places like this hotel and it’s colorful haunted past. I always wonder about the lives of the people who lived in earlier times.
