~WELCOME TO MY MOUNTAIN~

Hey girls !! Welcome to my mountain top...Susan at a Southern Dreamer http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/ Is hosting this brand new Wednesday Outdoors Please do your self a favor and go by and see all the great Outdoor spaces today.. Now Girl's remember I live in the mountains so most everything outside is of nature up here...but this is my drive way and as you can tell I have old Tractors wheels lining it....and allot of spur tress...

This is the driveway that goes to the back of the property where I have an apartment rental..I have 11 acres up here so lots of land..I use to raise Ostrich's and Emus here...and look can you see the deer in the driveway ?? I call them my midnight gardener every thing I try and plant they come out at "midnight" and eat....

This BIG rock was only showing its top when Len decided to rent a Back Hoe and dig around it so he could plant more Blue and Green Spurs... Well guys that was it...as its been snowing here I don't think anyone wants to see pictures of our white stuff...

Hope all of you have a safe and blessed day....
Hugs and smiles Gloria

Gloria... Happy first outdoor Wednesday! 11 acres in the mountains...sounds wonderful! What a neat idea...tractor wheels!

We don't get much/any snow here...so I wouldn't mind seeing some!

It looks so beautiful, I would love to see more sometime in another post. I wish we would get some white stuff instead of this bitter cold. It's going to bw -3f tonight. My poor chickens, I am so worried about them. Hubby says they will be fine in their house under a heast light, but who knows. It's never been this cold since I have owned chickens. I have a feeling we will have a house full of cats tonight also.
Stay warm, loved the pics

I love it...so beautiful...I love nothing better than a long drive in the country! Enjoy!

I love the tractor wheels along the drive! I was just reading yesterday, 63 plants, deer will not eat, in Living the Country Life. Its a free magazine. Now hubby would love for the deer to stay around here. lol But the dogs run them, all the time. I love your 11 acres in the mountians. I got to stay on top of a private mountian, in our motorhome, while working. The airplanes flew off the top of the mountian. I wish I had land there is was so lovely, and the town at the bottom, had a bundle of antique stores. The trees at your home are so beautiful. We have 10 acres here. No mountian.

I'm from Texas so your tractor wheel "fence" seems perfectly normal. ;o) And charming!!!!

Hi Gloria, Thanks for the tour of your drive and grounds at your place on the mountain! The tractor wheel fence promises visitors that there's more to come when they go inside! You are so creative and welcoming. Pam

You have a beautiful place to call home. There is something special about being in the mountains.

I was raised on one. The walk home from Jr. High was steep and long;-) and the view spectacular!

We can laugh about the beautiful deer being your midnight gardener, yet I am sure it can become frustrating at times. lol Bless your heart!
Thanks for showing these lovely pictures and enjoy your wonderful fresh air.

Gloria,
I saw Laurie tagged you also. Once is enough...just know you're loved! Wish we had snow to go along w/ this cold weather. We have deer too (and rabbits), and an old farmer's wife told me to put out the original (green/white) Irish Spring soap. I just layed bars of it around my Hostas, and they seemed to stay away from them. You can buy 2 bars at the dollar store for $1...at least here!

This looks like a beautiful piece of property (or should I say heaven). I love your tractor wheel fence, and your midnight gardners are so cute, but I know they can be a bother. We have them in our yard and street all the time, and we live in the middle of town! Great pix, thanks for sharing. Hugs, Kathy

Hi Gloria! I am in enchanted with your beautiful acreage and your trees...everything looks so gorgeous! I'm a country girl too, so I can't imagine not being surrounded by land and trees...and how cute that your little deer made an appearance for one of the photos! And since it never snows here where I live, I'd LOVE to see any snow scenes from your home that you may want to post!

Hey sweet G, how ya been honey! Got that email from you just now about "not drinking" way too funny G!!! Of course I wanted to see your snow pictures, we still are bone dry here, I want a blizzard soon or I'll start getting spring fever!! Hows baby Kyra? I sent a picture of Amelia to Regis and Kellys beautiful baby contest! Even if she doesn't win I hope I get to see her picture on the show!

Oh Gloria glad you came by to visit. I am going back to Virginia and boarder of Tennessee to visit my mom not this week-end but the next Saturday and stay for about a week. My sister said the Doctor says it will be soon to have the hospice to come in and help. Mom is down to 72 lbs and I have her in my prays and thought rolling over in my memory photos of her and can close my eyes and see us talking and swing and I can still hear her laughter. I know it's close doctors beleive 3-4 months. If I had one wish I wish for her to be well and here with me. I am bidding on a sugar scutter right now and it ends in about an hour. So I'm sure I will find one; I loved the one that Susan had on tablescapes and now my daughter wants one. Thank you for your comments about my mother and your home looks so peaceful in the mountains; what a great place to live or get lost in the senery.

Hi Gloria! oh how pretty it is on your property...maybe I do need to take a trip up there! ;) I love those tractor wheels! Where did you find all those? We do get the deer over here but the wild boar do more damage out here - totally digging up people's lawns. I guess that's a plus to not having any landscaping at the moment! :) I would LOVE to see snow...sigh...we wanted to get up that way to see the snow but now it will be a trip to Disneyland instead next month. One of these days I am going to pass thru your town and see those little restaurants & shops you have shown us & I'll be squealing! Take care. ~ Laurie

Hi Gloria, You live in God's country, that's for sure! I see that little deer - how cute. I live in a Twin Cities suburb and once in a while I will see six deer on my way to work and on my way home. Have a nice night! ~ Robyn

Girl, You are surrounded by so much beauty inside and out. You are a very.. lucky lady. I either want to retire by the mountains or ocean. I think my dh prefer the ocean. Yes, I am 5 hours from Des Moines. It's a little warmer there because it's further south. And they don't get as much wind. We are in open farm country!!
Hugs, Terrie

Glenda said...

Around here I call your "midnight gardener", Bambi. The last thing I say to DH when he leaves in the morning is "watch out for Bambi".

The deer are evidently in rut and acting on instinct rather than good sense. They will run right out in front of your vehicle with no warning and little time to react. On one trip, in our seven mile drive into Macon, we have seen two dead by the road and three vehicles that had lost in their encounter with other deer, and the resulting damage had disabled their vehicle.

Your property is what dreams are made of. Is that a portion of your house, or is it your rental that is visible in the picture of Len's rock?
