~ OCEAN SPRAY & TREE SAP ~

Good Morning Guys...Well I thought Susan at Between Naps on the Porch and her new thing Met Monday as I call it would be a fun thing to do.... Please go by and see Susan to see more great spaces today..http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/ Susan is the one who does all those BEAUTIFUL Tablescapes on Tuesday...

Now this is my Sun room...we just added this on to the house in 2005 and never did any thing with the cement flooring...we were at Lowe's one day trying to find tile for it...but told the sale man I didn't want anything thing that when wet we would slip on...as this room is attached to my kitchen door and we go out and in it every day..we have one of those homes that no one ever goes to our front door.. You know the old back door guest are the best ??? any way we got this paint that is for garage floors...First Len had to use an acid bath and scrub it...wait for 48 hours to make sure it was dry...and the paint went on then ...

Here is Len rolling on the paint and of course he is also fogging the air with his mouth...which he does every time he into a project...Oh!! my sweet little ears and what I have to listen to when he gets into a project...sounds just like the dad in the movie "the Christmas Story" fixing the furnace lol !! This floor is so great as I can just mop it and nothing stains it..and girls Len did a wonderful job on it...see where he taped off the glass even.. he did that because he didn't want to hear me fog the air ha ha!!

Now girl I love my Sun room...and the reason we painted the floor Ocean Blue is because I live in the mountains but do love the Ocean..so I tried to give this room a Nautical look and also I had so many Nautical stuff in my barn that I needed to find a home for... So Girls " WELCOME ABOARD " my mountain top...

This is whats called a Four Season Sun room all glass ceiling and walls...and its so great to sit out here and watch the deer come out and eat...we have at least 6 bird feeders here and 3 Peanut boxes to feed the squirrels... I love doing dinners out here during the summer months

Just look at that sky is it not pretty ?? and you can see all the cedar and pines trees we have here..and that is a blue light in the ceiling fan which also has clear blades on it...

See how pretty that blue floor looks ??? and by the chair there is my Lemon tree...which I love when it comes into bloom or the sweet smell is wonderful in this room then...

Now this is from a ship it a 1910 Anunciator from an engine room ...and those things at the bottom are ships Cleats... The Ball hanging above it is a "fish Ball" that my Aunt and Uncle gave me years ago...these were use to float fish nets with...they bought this back from Guam to me...

Now here is a Fish net and an old Oar that I found at my Second Sunday swap meet last year and the straw hat was my Dad's Fishing hat from their home in Cabo, Mexico and just some shells I have hanging...I made S hooks so I could hang things down in here as it has no walls.. and Girls I can't stand to have any thing naked...

Now here is an Old port hole that I also have shells in and that Picture above is the "Hole in the Rock" in Cabo...My mama had a gal painted that from a picture she took one day when we were out on a glass bottom boat...and the little Picture is of their home they had in Cabo...

Now!! this is my Newest Oldest thing in here...its a driving helmet from 1941 USS Navy its all brass and cooper...Len got this for me for Christmas... Is this not the coolest thing?? it sit on top of our soda frig... Told you girls I like weird things...Maybe that why I love Len....So there you have seen my Mountain, Ocean Sun room...Thanks for visiting Sure hope all the ocean spray didn't ruin your hair do and that the pine tree sap comes off your shoes...

Have a safe and blessed day dear friends...

Hugs and smiles Glria

Ooh ooh ooh, this was such a fun tour! This room is so fabulous I wouldn't even know where to begin. You don't know how much I wish I could just visit with you there, sipping coffee and enjoying the surrounding nature.

Now doesn't it get really hot in there in the summer?
And ooh, the smell of lemon blossoms is heavenly!!!!!!!

Gloria, every time I see that glass ceiling in your sun room, it just takes my breath away! What a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the beauty of God's sky. Of course, I'd have to be enjoying all of your neat things inside the sunroom before I was even able to look up and enjoy the view of the sky. Oh, and that blue floor is wonderful-kind of just brings it all together. laurie

Hi Gloria, This sunroom is beautiful! I just love it! That diving helmet is the coolest! You have so many interesting things. I saw you stopped by a little bit ago. I messed up on my blog and didn't give the lemonade award to everyone I wanted to. Anyways, I gave one to you, I'm sure you already received it so no need to post it if you have. I hope you have a great week! Kristen

This sun room just makes me smile every time I see it. The ceiling fan is so perfect in here, I've never seen one like it. But I must admit, that diving helmet is my favorite - it's so fun and quirky and hey, alot like you my friend. What a great tour. Hugs, Kathy (ps I know exactly what you mean about "fogging the air" and Christmas story, too funny)

Your beautiful 'treasures' just make it perfect and I think Len is a keeper girl for all he does...just use that cattle prode on him alittle more often (did I say that! lol) Just kidding Len! lol lol Love ya sis!♥

Hi Gloria! Oh your comment about hitting Len with the candlestick had me laughing all the way over here. But girl, look at that gorgeous sun room! I love it! What a beautiful place to sit and enjoy the day - good weather or bad!.. And I think you've got the sweetest man ever! Give him some lovin'! He really knows the key to your heart. I scrolled down to your pink Saturday and you have the neatest things to look at! I love the wheelbarrow & that yard long picture, very pretty. Sorry not too much to report on my end - the kiddo's have been sick all weekend. Though I did update my pictures on RMS. All of a sudden I started getting "comment" emails on my rooms - been months! So when I went over to check out my rooms - I was so embarassed at their "before" state that I had to update them. Now I think I am a bit sorry. You know, already got the "Clutter Police" patroling me. :) sigh...when will I learn...I like blogland so much better. Have a great week! ~ Laurie

I love the ocean too. I've only been once but it's something I dream of doing again. I love this sun room. I decided that our next home must have one bz I love to sit out and enjoy the feel of outside but I hate dealing with all the flies and mosquitoes that like my un-enclosed deck!! Thanks for the tour.

Gloria, That was a perfect solution to paint your concrete floor the pretty color of blue! When you're sitting there, I would think that the color under foot provides an anchor of serenity. Beautiful! Fieldstone/Pam

Don't worry about the tree sap. This red Georgia clay will cover it right up.

I'm so glad you re-posted this sunroom. And now I can enlarge the pictures, unlike on RMS. I think there might be a couple missing, but I'm not sure about that. I am just so glad to see this room again. Everything is so special from your Dad's fishing hat, the gift of the fish ball from your Aunt and Uncle, to the picture of your parent's house.

Love the way you used the porthole as a frame for your shells. Len has got your number. He knows how to make you "Happy To Be" as he demonstrated by the thought he put into your Christmas present.

He did some beautiful work on that floor and I would definitely consider him a "keeper". Besides with the sun pouring into the sunroom that "fog" will clear away in no time at all.

Miss Gloria~ You had me at SUN ROOM! The floor, glass ceiling and fan, every personal touch was perfect.
What a wonderful place for respite.
My hubby and I had always wished for this exact style of sun room....unfortunately because of our split level homes roof it couldn't be done without a Bill Gates income. We opted for a tented gazebo instead.
We vacation at the coast every chance we get and so I'm drawn to the nautical themed settings. You've got some great ones...a porthole and that diving helmet, amazing.
Thanks sooooo much for sharing.

Sweet Wishes,
Sara

P.S. Fogging the air...to funny! I've not heard that one...I've got just the hubs to use it on.LOL!

so....how often you you have to clean that roof? if it were mine...it would always have bird poop on it...and it would drive me insane! lol
I love your sunroom....it is a little different from mine...which does not have a clear roof...One day...I will sit on that loveseat and have lemonade as the moving men load my u-haul! lol

Such a beautiful room, Gloria, and I love the way the floor seems to reflect the sky. All you girls with sun rooms and screened porches are making me nuts ... our summer temps are between 90 and 105 from April until late October, and after that it's cold and damp for 3 or 4 long months. Sooner or later all this faboo inspiration will come together and I'll figure out what to do with the patio and backyard, both of which we hope to redo this year.

Hugs,

Victoria

Hi Gloria!

WOW what a fabulous 4 season room! Those kind of rooms here in Ohio are only 3 season rooms! It's been like a deep freeze here this winter. Love the diving helmet, what a great gift to receive!

I love Romantic Country also! I keep them in a basket next to my chair and drool over everything in them. I absolutely adore the stories about our blogger friends. It makes the magazine so personal.

Have a grand week! Hugs, Sherry

Hi darling, I'm sorry to hear you are down.. Wish I could be there visiting with you in your beautiful sunroom. Today has been along day. My Bailey was up sick all night long, so not alot of sleep, then Bill got sick.. he was ok for me to go to work. So my Catie took off to come and get Bailey. I called home at noon and Bill told me the poor Miss Scooter got sick.. girl I think I might sleep in the garage with Murphy. However, he would bark because I wouldn't let him in the truck, so I guess I'll just try sleeping in my own bed..hopefully, all night. lol.. I'm off to work again tomorrow.. you know me the energizer bunny just keeps going and going and going.. lol.. You feel better darling.. holler if you need me.. hugs ~lynne~
