Now this frame I got out yard sailing and my late DH made a shadow box out of it so I could showcase from of my straight edge razors and grooming brushes....see the naked lady brush?? even back then men were men!!!
Now the corners on this frame I found in an antique shop and just knew I could add them to my shadow box to give it an added look....Now girls those are not aspirins tins you are seeing there...they are prophylactics tins and they are from World War 1 and they still have the condoms in them...hey!! I told you I was a weird collector and yes I also have a frame with those in them...But this is a family friendly blog so can't show them...
Now this is just a shaving mirror, straight razors, razor strap, and that bull dog is an electric Mustache curler...and a set of razors...
this is the box of razors and what so special about them is that there is one for each day of the week...look real close and you will see they are engraved with the day...these are from England and this is the only set that I ever found that was complete in the box...

I just love this bottle of scalp tonic and hair clippers and look at the old Gillette Razor blades..
Do any of you Remember "Wildroot"" all men at one time used this to slick there hair back..this is just an old sign I have hanging...
Just another shot of the same stuff...didn't mean to show this twice...oh well too late now !!!
This is a Barber pole I have and a few things hanging on the wall...and yes Justine I have a Pink bathroom...
Well guys I hope you enjoyed some of my Manly stuff today...and in the near future I will show you the Beauty shop bathroom...I also have an outhouse bathroom...Yes!! you heard me right...it even has an "outhouse" door on it...I just love all things that are different...Told you I march to a guitar instead of a drum...or as my Wally use to say " the Redhead is not a dead Head"
May all of you have a safe and blessed day...
Hugs and smiles Gloria

girl...it is all so beautiful! I love the way those items seem so attractive...yet necessary...they just don't make things like that anymore! thanks for sharing!
your blog rocks girl...don't let it go...we need to see your treasures!
I love all your manly treasures, hubby says he wants the barber pole! lol The shadow box is so great! Just love this.
Thanks for showing us your neat stuff! It's funny that you framed the condoms - that tickled me! :O) I march to a different drum too - I believe they call us "eclectic"!
Welcome to Vintage Thingies Thursdays!
What a wonderful collection of manly things. Very unusual and very complete. I really enjoyed my tour of this bathroom! Can't wait for the beauty shop one and the outhouse one!! How fun.
Have a great day!
They don't make barber shops the way they used to in the good old days! this was enjoyable to read...
I have never seen a barber shop pole in a home. I remember them from waaay back, though.
Gloria,
You have an amazing collection...I see you love old stuff too.....I have always love old bottles and and furniture....the antique show with the 300 venders...where is it Sacramento....wish I could go this Sunday...I will try and go in February...I would love it if you could give me the info.....
Mo :-)
Hi Gloria, What a great collection of manly stuff you have! The chair is wonderful, so is the naked lady brush.lol! I love looking at old things and trying to imagine how it was back then. Great post! Kristen
Your collections are wonderful Gloria! Your house is a real museum filled with priceless treasures!
Hugs, Carol
Thanks for the info Gloria...I will start saving my $$$$....
Mo :-)
Believe it or not they still sell Wildroot Cream Oil. It was advertised quite often for gentlemen when I was growing up. The same goes for Brylcreme. I doubt that either are much used anymore.
Your collections are worthy of a Museum. The case that Wally made is perfect for your display. I think I even spied some Old Spice just behind the Old Spice shaving mug. Wonder how long they have been making that brand. It was the only thing I ever knew my Father to use.
Thank you for a very interesting and enlightening post.
Manly items, prophylactics and an electric mustache curler? That is some assortment of stuff. Straight razors give me the creeps--too much blade!
Really--an electric mustache curler????
I love it.
and I forgot--I can't wait to see the outhouse bathroom!
Gloria~you win the prize I think for the most unique and interesting collection for VTT today! I love the idea of the his/her bathroom, and such wonderful items! Condom tins???
What a hoot!
I bet people spend a very long time in your bathroom just enjoying the view...what great stuff!!! I can't wait to see the other baths!
I love your treasures..I would love to see the outhouse bathroom.:). Happy VTT and have a great day.
That is a really COOL collection! CHEERS! Michele
What an amazing collection..i love it especially what you've got displayed in the shadow box..MAGIC!!
And you're one of the reasons I'm addicted to blogging. This is an amazing post.
Love Ya,
Chris
Gloria,
What a great collection! I wish we could go antique shopping together - looks like you find some amazing things. Can't wait to see pictures of your other bathroom
Have a great day today my friend!
Kymber
The barber shop pole is great. What a neat collection to have. I love the idea of his/hers bathrooms. Phil's bathroom would probably be full of St. Louis Cardinals memorabilia if he decorated it himself.
Happy Thursday,
Kris
Your collection is museum quality! Wonderful things there; I remember the blue Gillette razor blade packages from the fifties. My grandfather had kept his old straight razors and I used them to cut my hair as a teenager.
Hi Happy, I'm always amazed at your treasures. And your knowledge of the history of each piece is my favorite part. How many "road trips" did it take to find these? If I had been out antiquing and seen some of these, I don't think I would have even known what they were. I love to collect odd things too, like fishing lures, license plates, and old woodworking tools. Have a great day, my friend, I'm still lifting up a prayer for that sweet baby of yours.
Good morning Gloria~
Yep, you know me...I am having a fit over this collection~I love the chair and all the goodies in your shadowbox. I have never even heard of an electric mustache curler. :)
You never cease to amaze me! Have a beautiful dear friend!
Big hugs~ J
Would you look at all the stuff you have! Wow! You have some really neat things there! Thanks for sharing them with us;) Hugs French

What an amazing collection of manly stuff you have, Gloria.
I think men are starting to get into more accessories than they use too. I know I encourage my DH to use different items etc. I just love it when she gets that jean manly clean up look!!!!!!!!!!!
With a splash of one of his fourteen different colognes (of coarse I do have my favorites).
Can't wait to see your side and that outhouse. Yes, My family says that any red head is a " real hot headed babe". We are from Ireland. I love that about you Gloria; you like different!
Blossom
Good morning Gloira, I would love coming to your home. You have some of the greatest treasures. I can't wait to show Mr. P these wonderufl things. Some I 'm sure his grandfather used. I do have an old shaving mug and brush Daddy gave me many years ago..but none of these other great things... (how did you do the linky thing at the bottom girl? ) Your blog just keeps getting better and better. I'm off to open the shop and then to the other job this evening. :-(
hugs ~lynne~
What another great post!! My husband uses a shaving brush even now to "swipe" on his shaving cream - it seems so manly somehow!!
I can't wait to see your lady bathroom!
Good morning Gloria :)
How wonderful that little Kyra is doing better!! Great news to start my day :)
I love all your man stuff! Rich and the boys will be sharing one bathroom (when they come to visit) and Annie and I will be sharing another in the new house, so this is a great idea for his bathroom!
hugs,
rue
Fantastic collection and wonderfully displayed. And I learned something new -- condoms are older than I thought and they came in tins. LOL!
Hello G,
Well I must say I have never seen any of this stuff in person. It was all fascinating and like taking a trip down memory lane at a history museum.
You always have the coolest posts.
Love your blog!
~Melissa :)
Your home amazes me and is a virtual treasure trove! I have to ask...is every room pink? I just wondered since you pointed it out to Justine. LOL!
Oh Gloria.I would so love to come to your home and check every room out.Everything you show us is so different and so lovely.But.....I still.......want to see the bunny bathroom.....PLEASE--------------ANN

Hi sweet G, how are ya sweetie?? Saw you at Dots saying you missed me, well I miss you too! I've had a rough 3 days with a bad cold, have been in bed by 6:30 for the past 2 nights! But I'll survive! Hows sweet Kyra doing? Hope all is well for her!! Your manly collections are just awesome, what is life without collections, I say boring LOL!!! I'll be back to see you darlin, take care, love ya!! xoxoxo
Gloria, I really enjoyed this post. I do remember many of these awesome collectibles. They bring me back to a time gone by. To me there was always something fasinating about watching men apply apply the shave cream and shave with one of those sharp-edged blades. I was only a little girl at the time. But, this really touched my heart.
Hugs, Terrie
Very cool stuff and a very clever approach to a "his" and "hers" bathroom!
Also, glad to hear the good news about your great granddaughter! PTL!
What an amazing collection! An electric mustache curler? How fun and I love that chair. Kathy
WOW! Absolutely amazing the work you put into collecting and displaying these items! People must spend a lot of time in that bathroom!
Whoa, major cool stuff, Gloria!!!!!!!!!! You know what you have to do? You have to take a video, walking through your whole house. Because I'm sitting here stumped as to how you have room for everything you collect. I mean, how often do you dust, and how long does it take you???
Justine :o )
What an original idea for a His & Hers theme! You've done a great job!
My goodness! What a collection. I imagine that all brought together, that is one beautiful room!
Hi Glorida
What a great post. Where did you ever find all these amazing things men's articles. I'd love to see the whole room as it is with all your treasures.
I can't wait to see what your washroom looks like ... and an outhouse theme..will you share that one also.
I've really enjoyed myself...come by and visit when you have some time.
have a lovely evening.
Judi
Each of your collections is as fascinating as the last one you've presented. Thanks for sharing your antique treasures.
Hellooo Gloria! you are like a ray of sunshine, I swear! Always uplifting the spirit! :) I can't believe all the amazing things you have!! I feel like I am getting a history lesson every time you post something! Where do you find all these neat little things? I bet people take longer than necessary in your bathroom because there is so much to see! :)And those nursing chairs are something else! I can't believe they actually made something to accomdodate a mother & baby - it almost makes me want to breastfeed again! haa! :) They turned out great with the dye job. I never would have thought to try that. Thanks for stopping by again and being such an amazing lady! Oh! and so happy to hear that your G.Granddaughter is doing well. And your new "bust" (don't think I will be able to say that without laughing now!) is beautiful! Show us the new one!! Take care. ~ Laurie
Hi Gloria...another fascinating trip through history! My grandfather had some of those things...like the razor strop on the wall...that's what he called it, not razor strap...LOL. Keep those memories coming... ;-) Bo

I am going to have to show my dad this post. He will get a kick out of all those old barber shop stuff. His uncle used to own a barber shop.
Mornin', Glory...
You do have the most interesting antiques i've ever seen in a private collection. How long have you been collecting and are you still doing it? You must have a HUGH home to house all this fine collecting....
Sure enjoyed looking at all of it today...
xo bj
Those are really awesome treasures!
Gloria, what a cool post, just love it!!! Oh and yes I do like a well groomed man!!! Have a great weekend!!
I almost missed this Gloria. We've had such a busy week and today we're trying to get ready to go home for a couple days, so I've missed some visiting!
This post is fabulous. I love it. Beautiful pieces.
Hello Dearheart...
Just checked my blog and read your note...thank you so much for all of your love & prayers...we sure have been feeling them!!!
I really appreciate you, my friend...I was just telling Russell that it didn't matter that we haven't met "face to face"...and I'm beginning to hate the term "vitual friend" because you've been such a good friend to me...better than most that I have met "face to face"!!! You're just a sweetheart and I've gained such strength from our friendship...it's just wonderful to know that there are people like you out there holding me up!!! Thank you, Gloria!!!
So how are you doing, Girlfriend? I just loved looking through all of your "manly" stuff...hehe!!! You have quite the collection there! Love that pretty new dress that you put on your blog!!!
Thank you again, Sweetie...
Sure do love and appreciate you,
Chari
Hey girl...thanks for coming by to see our little Sofie...I can't believe you said that about taking a razor to Len!!!! lol lol Oh that is such good news about little Kyra...I pray that she amazes the doctors at how fast she grows & heals...have a great weekend sis...love ya!♥
You just made my day! I don't do trends either. Early in my marriage I let my sister, who's an interior designer, help me with decorating. I never liked it bz it never felt like me. Once I started doing things my own way I've never turned back and it's "home" and comfortable! Ironically I just posted today about my cabinets and how they're not the "in" thing but I love them! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs to you.
Gloria - In the mid-1980's my sister and her husband built a Victorian farmhouse. They designed the house did much of the construction themselves--except for sheetrocking and flooring. Then they hired a decorator. She wallpapered the rooms and bought antiques, including a barber's chair for the bar--cute touch, I thought. I love that you march to your inner voice, dear Gloria....Pam
You sure have a neat collection of unusual items, Gloria! These are valuable! Thanks for sharing..Christine
One of the best post tonight for me...loved all the imagery! cool beans!
